This episode is so packed with visual information I had to watch it a few times. I have been dreading the evolution of this tech due to its potential as a game changer for how we perceive our world and the further deterioration of trust in society. It was a treat to see this side of the technology and learn a bit about the creative process from such an enthusiastic crew. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the ethical side in the next segment. By the way, the intro is awesome!

Very interesting subject and I look forward to Part 2. Not sure if I believe all the hype and marketing regarding AI (I'm looking at you, Topaz Photo AI). I remember all the press surrounding Segway and 5G before they were released. IMHO, those two examples turned out to be meh.

Wow. What a fascinating area and discussion. I thought Roope was really fluent. The images reminded me of the animation in the latest series of Star Trek Prodigy, which was really good, but the AI is doing much more than just generating images, it is also generating ideas and the potential story. The mouth movements issue is a bit like watching an English movie dubbed into French - when it starts and ends at the same time, it can be hard to pick. The music selection for scenes in movies and TV can change the mood of the scene so much - is it a scary scene, a romantic scene, a sad scene or something else? So is the AI picking the music for the story it wants to tell, which might be one possible option, but that might not be the right mood for where the human involved eventually wants to go. Thanks.

AI could easily be used by Government and Religion to manipulate and control the populace. We know how they both operate. Think ahead of the implications AI might have on people. For example, imagine a failing religion integrating it into a holographic projection of the second coming of Jesus. I won't even elaborate on what Government could do with it.

When I first saw what this was about, I was dismayed and prejudiced. But having listened to or watched most of the episodes now, I got myself into a more open frame of mind. This was incredible. I really appreciate the depth and breadth of the conversation with Roope. Looking forward to what he had to say about the ethics of it all. Also, slight non sequiturs: I'd sign up for a Branan reading list. Man seems full of so many interesting bits of information about such a huge variety of subjects. As always, really appreciate the time you all put into this. Thanks, gents.

The Exploratorium sounds amazing. My wife screams out VERY loud during any sudden surprising thing on the screen, so we have not taken her to a theater in many years. The deal breaker was Matt Damon's death in Interstellar. Packed house at the IMAX theatre @ Minnesota Zoo, we were near the top middle and EVERYONE looked at us after her scream. 'Minnesota Nice' they were not (MN Nice is a myth anyways). So, unless it's a harmless comedy, we aren't going to the theater. And like you all said, they don't show comedies in theaters anymore.

It's not mainstream, and yes for sure I enjoy other podcast too but this is different, love to hear more. Another enjoyable intelligent episode. Thank you. Why were blind people pushed into music? At my law school we had blind teachers and students and in my legal workplace we had many blind people. One person's guide dog came into training sessions and would lie under the desks and snore. But as you showed blind people can be amazing at music too. Last year I watched a UA-cam video of the blind pianist Lucy performing Debussy's Arabesque - awesome. This inspired me to learn this delicate piece too, although I play at a fraction of the speed and not nearly as well as Lucy. And her jazz version of The Nearness of You led me to learn that too. AI taking over from humans - wasn't that the premise of the second series of Discovery? The background construction noise did not interfere with the sound, although maybe that was because you fixed that later. I was going to listen to this episode as a reward for doing my French homework, but started listening while doing chores. Now it is time for les pronoms COD and COI.

I know this is 5 months old, I just started following the podcast; but Anson I hope your back is doing much better now! If you guys wanna talk guitars sometime, my dad’s got a 1965 Gibson Firebird in near mint condition; that he’s played since 6th grade! He recently got the frets restored and it just sings like a gem! I’m hoping to stream music nights again soon-ish, where we both just have a casual practice night between his guit box and my violin. I also get the feeling that when I’m finally able to invest in an electric violin, it’s gonna feel so much easier to play!

I have nothing against people who react to what is going on on the screen. I alone react to everything I see, I gasp, I laugh, I cry & I talk (yes, "come on man" happens fairy often). But the audience today is not doing that. They talk on whatsapp, scroll through Tiktok, listen to potcasts/audiobooks, chatt with each other & much more. Sometimes it feels they went to the movies as a punishment.
