Children of Time is incredible. I never thought I'd root for the giant spiders, but it was so good. The idea of how a species would develop technology in an entirely different way because of their biology/perspective was great. I've got to go back and pick up the 2nd book soon!

You guys must listen to the audiobooks of the First Law by Joe Ambercrombie, starting with The Blade Itself, best fantasy books since Game of Thrones! The narrations by Stephen Pacey are incredible! Also check out the Empire Trilogy by Raymond Feist & Janny Wurts, start with Daughter of the Empire audiobook narrated by Tania Rodrigues!! It is Fantasy too, where First Law has dark humor, Empire is literary.
