Coastal Bluff Roomba
Canada
Приєднався 12 кві 2023
We repair, service and sell pre-owned iRobot roombas and braavas. We also offer long term support to our customers. We started this hobby when we bought a roomba off from Facebook marketplace and found that the roomba didn’t work and the seller ghosted us and gave us a fake address and then disappeared off from Facebook. Since we didn’t want this to happen to someone else, we decided to use our knowledge about roombas (we have owned them for 20 years) and to start fixing them and selling them fully serviced. What we found is that people were happy to buy something second hand that not only worked but also had a 30 day limited warranty and long term support. We recently started offering these videos with the hope they will help you! Don’t forget to subscribe! If you found any of our videos helpful and would like to buy us a coffee we have included this link. We have also included our link for our Facebook page for additional tips on our site. Thank you for supporting our channel!
How to install a 3D printed brush latch holder for iRobot Roomba S9 vacuum
To purchase the S9 latch these are available on eBay:
www.ebay.ca/itm/196940393194?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=BSt3K63MSgG&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=BSt3K63MSgG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
After successfully designing a 3D printed latch for the e i and j series roombas, we were contacted by people asking if we had a latch for the S9 roomba. We realized this was becoming more necessary after the roomba S9 was discontinued by iRobot and that it was getting more difficult to find a replacement cleaning head module.
After countless hours discussing the design of the latch we started to print and test them. We went through 20 different designs until we landed on this one.
We did find the latch design to be quite difficult. It had to fit within a S9 cleaning head module that had very little room to fit plus be considerably different than our e i and j series latch.
After repetitively testing it successfully on a S9 roomba, we have now listed these for sale on eBay. We are happy to offer these to all the S9 roomba owners out there so that they can keep using their roombas.

While most braavas will work after simply filling the tank with warm water to allow if to spray again, there are more steps that you can do to restore its ability to spray water. iRobot Braava M6 Fill The Tank Error - one possible fix!
Переглядів 8083 місяці тому
The iRobot Braava M6 has a small water tank that has a small float inside that allows the Braava to read it, registering how full the tank is before it will allow the Braava to wash the floors. This usually happens when the tank is almost empty or the float is stuck. A common solution is to fill the tank, and if this doesn’t correct the problem, remove the tank and vigorously shake the tank aga...

Excellent video on how to install a replacement brush holder latch on the s9 Roomba. Thank you for making this.
Thank you very much ❤
The canister can be opened by pressing the gray button at the top and that makes it way easier to clean it, just so you all know.
Thank you for sharing this tip. It will definitely help!
Thank you so much!! That worked!
Glad it worked for you! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
tha ks for the advice this is what i did after watching. so i microwaed some water till boiling(i was frustrated lol),and used a few milliliters of hot water into the tank, pressed the clean button and it worked perfectly! must be the extra pressure from the hear, cause once it started spraying I used warm water with the cleaning solution of my choice and now squirts like new! ❤😊 thank you!😁
@@Jflow8888 that’s great that this has worked for you. Be sure to check our other video (part 2 of this same problem) with some other tips.
Thanks! This just saved a couple of hair on my head
i got a sealing problem but it was actually a pillar of my home blocking the side exhaust of the dock, so i just had to move it away from it.😂
For me it was the LID....AHAHAHAHA. Im pretty tech savy and understand what parts need to function in order for units to work. I deep cleaned everything...I even unscrewed the whole unit and took the whole internal suction tube out. put a new bag in, changed the filter everything, i knew for sure it wasnt anything to do with dirt. I decided to seek youtube help and found this video, the first thing I noticed you do is lift the lid up and it stays up....I was like wait my whole lid just comes straight off, realigned it how you had it up and gave it a good push and boom it snapped into place and stands up straight like yours when the lid is lifted. Gave it a go and boooooom were back in buisness. Lol It wasnt intended but thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for a great video, clear and thorough.

Thank you so much for this video! I just ordered my first Roomba and I’m definitely going to be referencing this video a lot! I hope I don’t regret my purchase… This seems like a whole lot of maintenance, which I’ve never had to do for a regular vacuum, lol! Being visually impaired, it’s probably gonna take me as long to do this as it does to do my regular vacuuming with the canister vacuum, lol! Seriously though, how often do you do this maintenance like this? Once a month? Once every few months?
@@gogohappygirl we recommend doing this level of clean about once a month. It helps minimize errors and ongoing satisfaction with the roombas cleaning performance. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! Happy cleaning!
Thank you so much ...worked a treat after unit was laying dormant for three months because I had no idea where the 'filters' or 'drainage' systems were and had no intention of removing the bottom panels...far to much monkey business...but a simple fix and a little knowledge goes a long way.
@@nikwalker7495 yes we find that it’s often the simplest solution works best. Glad you got your Braava working again! Happy cleaning!
Great step by step cleaning video. I'm assuming the "deodorizing" crystals are really just scented crystals, right? To me "Deodorizing" would man removing odor, not replacing or covering it it. Not being snarky, just to my nose those fake scents are more disruptive than the odor they're covering. But you've got me wondering about creating some kind of permeable "Baking Soda straw to stick in there. Someone needs to run with that idea. I'd pay a couple bucks a piece for them.
@@leocatz the deodorizing crystals are optional (user preference) and makes the smell less horrible. But some people are sensitive to perfume so not recommended for them. Otherwise it would require more frequent replacement of the hepa bags to keep the orders to a minimum. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Happy cleaning!
Thank you soo much!! This totally fixed this error I have had since shortly after purchase. I didn’t have any white tape but I cut small pieces off of the command hook tape part. Even though it is sticky on both sides, it still worked.

P.S., my problem was alot of dust accumulated under the bag at the bottom of the compartment. I changed out the bag and also vacuumed out the dust...that did the trick! Thanks, again. I didn't find any cattoys, though...we have a Jack Russell so tennis balls would be our problem. Ha!

EASIEST FIX FOR EMPTY BIN PROMT NOT WORKING!!! We suffered the empty bin mode not working. It would disappear from the app dashboard when you pressed it and not reappear until later.we spoke to customer service and I did everything suggested for the j6. Rebooting, blowing out the dust behind the bumper, removing the vac tube under the tower, making sure there were no blockages, blah blah blah blah . . . Nothing worked until i did a factory reset from the app and saved the map option. The empty bin worked perfectly. It will also force update the software. They never suggested it. Dumb asses.
Glad to see you got this figured out. Yes worse case scenario as with any electronics is to completely reset it and this may require completely removing the roomba from your account and even removing the app from your phone and then reinstall. If it doesn’t work first time, try again as sometimes first time doesn’t work. Thanks for your comment.
I recently bought a used Braava Jet m6, and the robot does not respond. When I put the robot on the home base charging dock, for a few seconds, it lights up white and spins, and then it stops. When I press the "Clean" button, the robot doesn't respond. The same for all the other buttons. The wheels are not jammed and I already tried holding Clean for 30 seconds. It came with 2 batteries but they don't seem to work. The robot gets a little warm on the place where the cleaning pads are mounted when charging. What do you think is the problem? Do you repair m6's? And if so, what would you estimate the repair cost for this to be?
@@JTrapp2127 hello thanks for reaching out. We would first suggest seeing if the braava is set for pet or child lock. To do this, you can change the settings in the app under settings to turn this off. Otherwise, you can try tilting the braava on one side so one wheel is pushed down and the other is free, and while holding braava tilted like this press the clean button 3 times. See if this works for you.
@@CoastalBluffRoomba Thank you! I tried this and it did not respond at all. I do not have access to the app as I received it used and was not able to set it up because as I said it doesn't respond sadly.
@@JTrapp2127 sorry to hear that didn’t work. Have you tried to clean the charging contacts of the braava and the charging base? It may not be charging properly. If you have tried this and still not working, it likely requires more work. Please connect with us on our Facebook page. Link is in our UA-cam channel and we can discuss further if more assistance is required.
@@CoastalBluffRoomba Yeah I have tried that already, I'll try to connect on Facebook. Thank you!
Ohmigosh, THANK YOU so very much for creating this video! That was exactly the problem we were having. Your solution fixed it!
@@MelissaAtwell you are very welcome! Glad this worked for you and got you back cleaning again.
I've got the same unit, went through the same steps but no success. The roomba did a cleaning round after I'd mopped the floors, I thought it was done but it was just recharging before continuing. When I got back the Clean Base was standing in a puddle of water and more was seeping through the side vent exhaust. I took everything apart and removed the water with a shopvac as best I could. When the Roomba completes a cleaning round, and unloads at the Cleanbase, it'll still attempt to empty the bin, three times before switching to a red signal on both units. The error in the app says there's a clog but there really isn't one. The motor sounds a bit different too, I'm worried it's FUBAR.
Sorry to hear that this hasn’t worked for you. The water may have affected the roomba and the charger. How about your dustbin? Have you thoroughly cleaned the bin? Meaning removal of the green flap?
Thank you so much, I think I saved a lot of time, it perfectly worked! 😅

@@americacaver8509 try to thoroughly wash the tank - it might not be sensing that the tank is full.
@@CoastalBluffRoomba thanks for the suggestion. That didn't work either.
@@americacaver8509 try compressed air to clean under the front bumper . That might work. If not it usually requires a complete overhaul of the roomba (we take it completely apart including removal of the circuit board).
@@CoastalBluffRoomba thank you very much. I appreciate the feedback. I will update you later.
Thank you! Worked perfectly on the washable pad that came with machine which I’ve been struggling with. Used it many times since purchased then after 6 months it stopped connecting. I even bought washable ones on Amazon that I couldn’t get to work. And figured they weren’t authentic and that’s why wouldn’t work. So bought expensive ones from iRobot. A brilliant video! Thank you so much! Good videography; clear and concise diction. I had to sift through a LOT of videos in my quest to find a meaningful one that would help with my problem. I even needed to know how to remove the green rubber guard from the port on the removable bin. I see now that a little bit of gentle forcing is required. Thank you too for the tip about moisture (a little too late for me though). When setting up my Roomba I did not set a no go zone area for where my cat water bowls are. After i noticed that my Roomba was not performing properly, I removed the two green rollers only to discover a whole lot of dirt caked onto the sides of the Roomba behind the rollers.
