I love my washer
How’d you get it connected to the WiFi? I have this same set
You have to download the GE laundry app. I don’t remember what it’s called, I used it in the beginning but the novelty wore off. There are credentials inside of the door of the washer and dryer you have to enter in to connect your machines to the app as well. Hopefully you can figure out the actual app name.
@@ardiemclelland2039 thank you! I have the app. It’s called Smart Hq
I have the exact same washer, except with an agitator same color same brand same machine
I made larger holes in the water intake with a sewing needle and it washes dishes Way Way better
I’ve never personally had issues with how my dishes were being cleaned. Just always annoyed about how wet they were at the end of the cycle. I upgraded this dishwasher a good year ago for a Maytag. This one is in my basement in case a backup is needed though!
I just got dryer only do i have to set ??
I enjoyed your video
Does a normal in a Ana takes longer than an hour? Thanks
Please proof read before you reply 😂
@@ardiemclelland2039 i’m sorry I didn’t get what you read. My question was normal takes longer than one hour’s
@@ardiemclelland2039 of course, in an Amana 1400. Does Normal take more than one hours? Is this satisfactory writing?
What cycle do you choose? Normal or one hours? Thank you for answering me.
If it was abandoned and nobody is using the water in the building, why is the water still turned on? seems like an issue waiting to happen to me.
Can you really adjust the temperature?
No, it just reads the temperature of the room. I no longer have this dehumidifier though. Fan motor gave out and I didn’t care to replace it, gave it away.
I have one but from.1986 i love it
Where do I put soap???
after seeing lot of vintage a/c and dehumidifiers, i was hoping you go with vintage old skool washer/dryer like from used market or craigslist..etc
I do have an older machine that I use for heavier duty items. I own a wrecking yard with my dad and come home covered in grease and oil. I trust my older machine for these jobs but I absolutely love these new machines for my everyday clothes.
@@ardiemclelland2039 as long as the new machines does the job, the thing is i heard/seen lot of complants from other people about it and i feel for them too and really glad you still have/kept the old one also for back up so dont have to make trip to laundrymat
Hi Ardie, I know it’s 3 years later but any updates to your review? 😊
Leaves so many streaks in the clothes from the detergent
I’ve never once had any complaints with streaks. Maybe it’s your detergent.
Stop already with your UM UM UM in every sentence. So annoying.
Eat me
update; leave the rinse aid cap off!! After you fill the rinse aid reservoir leave the cap off! It works perfectly then.
I have an Amana dish washer but never used it. It’s about 20 years old…. Is it normal for there to be water at the bottom portion (water drain compartment) of it?
Yes it’s to prevent bad odors from coming up the line.
Would you recomend a GE profile washer any more issues with this one or the dryer?
I believe this Friday I'm going to be getting my brand-new sat there the new graphite sapphire blue set
You don't need to hit deep fill if you didn't over load it 🥴
It was overloaded in the video as stated I was washing bath mats and towels. I know how to use my washing machine 🥴
Do you use the new dryer to dry the things you wash in this washer?
Sometimes! Certain things that aren’t oily or greasy like dog towels or blankets I will dry in my new dryer. I have a really nice clothes line outside I like to try to use when the weather cooperates!
Would that be on your side of the boarder? I’ve been so busy with work the last couple years that I haven’t had much time for this hobby. :( this electrohome died on me at the beginning of spring. The fan motor locked up so I replaced it and a day later the compressor locked up. I ended up putting it in my scrap pile. I saved the grill and controls.
If you’re near Cache Creek, a scrapper that I emailed still has some York and Hotpoint units, and this same model Electrohome.
I have a similar machine that has worked flawlessly for years. Now it appears that the humidistat is not working properly. Do you know where to buy parts? I could not easily find an online source.
I bet a new humidistat would be available on Amazon, eBay etc. I try to reuse parts from broken machines before I buy anything new. But I have had luck with fan motors off of Amazon so I’m sure the humidistats are a fine replacement. Just make sure it’s a dial type with the same amount of wires. Good luck.
Thanks for the video. Does the water line to the dishwasher come from cold water or hot water from the water heater ?
It comes from the hot water line. No dishwasher should be hooked to a cold water line as far as I know
Ardie, I would recommend using the deep rinse option if I end up with this model.
Like I said in my video I use this setting for every wash even when I’m not adding fabric conditioner. Thanks for watching

We have one of these. The Rinse Aid doesn't disperse the liquid. We just learned you have to push the grey latch/switch on the soap dispenser TWICE to activate the Rinse Aid dispenser. Ours is pretty quiet.
Mine doesn’t work at all😊
@@resigningstars Ours is working now. The more people we talk to the better this thing works!
*update* dishwasher still works but the detergent tray is no longer sealed. The last year I have been running the machine on one hour wash as any other setting just let’s all the soap down the drain before the main wash cycle. I have ordered a new top of the line Maytag dishwasher and will be giving my Amana away.
How do you like it?
I liked it but have replaced it with a new Maytag
hows it holding up now?
Still works, but the soap dispenser is no longer sealed. Have to use hour wash option or all the detergent is down the drain before main wash cycle. I ordered a new Maytag six months ago, still waiting for it to arrive.
Late 60s Electrohome, made in Kitchener Ontario not far from where I lived when I was young.Buletproof machine that just needs a clean and fan motor lube once per year.
I live very close to its build town. I’m in Stratford Ontario. This is a great machine but unfortunately is slightly down on its r12 charge. I have plans to fix it up one day. For now it sits on a shelf.
IF NO WASH BUT FILLS AND DRAINS….DO THIS FIRST!!!….get a wet dry vacuum. Take out 2 upper rack stops. Take out the lower rack. Take out the screw in inside back of tub holding on water supply tube and remove….the rspray arm should twist and pop out along with the mesh screen and cylinder strainer thing….get an dish cloth and manually pour a couple quarts of water in the dishwasher…then…place the dish cloth around where the base of the spray arm sat to allow the vacuumed to reallly suck out any crap that might be stuck in there…my experience is that the little tiny pump does not humm when it’s clogged and the strainers that is built into the dishwasher really does not perform good…we are conscious about not putting stuff that could clog it but that is our experience after about 8 months of use…here, I thought the relay or fuse stuck on the card…or the pump motor went bad…not the case…a simple clog in the impeller of the pump🌈😃🤙
I don't care which brand you buy, they're ALL junk and no one services them. I bought a COMMERCIAL brand 3 years ago (Global Industrial Company)....$700.....thinking that would do the trick after going through 3 of the box store cheaper brands in previous years. Nope wrong. Lasted ONE season and I live in Michigan so it doesn't even run during the winter time up here. Condenser froze all up which means there was a leak. JUNK......ALL of em!
I like everything classic model, because strong and easy to use it
That building probably has galvanized water piping looks like rust. Being in plumbing and heating for 21 years I've seen that before.
Likely. Regardless it would be a nasty colour anyway. It hadn’t been run in at least ten years
I love mine! I just hate that they scratch and dent so easily!
Yes, we have quite the dent in the top of the dryer! I just keep a towel on top now. Mine are in the basement where they aren’t shown off or else I’d be way more upset.
I have a problem with the dryer not working where is the time it has a sign of a lock
That sounds like the child lock. Look for a symbol or words under a button. Some buttons are multifunction. Look for one with a lock underneath or something about child lock. Likely have to press and hold to release the lock.
Thank you this helped a lot!
You didn’t even show us how to use it. Bad video.
Sorry that you need a video on how to operate a dishwasher. This was a review not a demonstration. Bad comment

CONTROL LOCK (GTW845): PROBLEM: You try spinning the dial and it does not respond but beeps. Little "Padlock Icon" blinks or is lit up. Control panel will not respond only with annoying beeps. SOLUTION: Find the WARM RINSE and AUTO SOAK buttons. Press both for three seconds. There is a hint on the fascia with an asterisk that looks like this: "*3 seconds." Look at your owners manual on page 12 for GOi6 GTW Models. This hint is for the GTW 845 model. Adie's is clearly indicated. The 845 is control lock is confusing.
Life saver!
Why does this happen tho? I put some clothes to wash last night and walked away. Woke up at around 4am and that control lock light was on! Wife swore up & down I sabotaged the washer!!😂😂😂
I have this exact dishwasher in my apartment and I didn’t have to pay a dime but it’s nice to know how much this exact dishwasher was
Hi.
Ok anyone know how to make sure the softener dispenses? Deep rinse set and still not working and machine is brand new. Could be user error but I want make sure
I just got this to replace a $1200 Samsung that died after 12 months. I just used the insulation off the Samsung and it cut the noise a lot. Works great and I’ll never buy a Samsung again
I’ve actually just ordered a new dishwasher. A Samsung lol. Will be in by the end of the month. I have decided I want an upgrade and something that actually dries my dishes
Why do you have your smoke alarm on the floor? I live in America, if that tells you anything
I think what you saw was my co2 sensor, not a smoke alarm. Co2 needs to be closer to the floor as it’s a heavier gas
Oh never mind. You’re talking about the white thing on the floor by the dishwasher. That’s ant bait just a nock off version of raid.
Thanks...I was just about to get a new one ....my old one is frosting up entirely ...but now I know that means I am loaded with Freon...need to disassemble and clean...Hopefully that works...
So this dishwasher is known for not drying dishes. I thought mine was defective until I read the comments. I just attached a hooking contraption to crack the door to allow the dishes to dry without the door being wide open. That way it can at least still function as an oversized drying rack.
Yes this is one thing I hate about this machine. I feel like the heating element doesn’t turn on. I’ve stopped using the heated features for the most part anyway. My tap water is extremely hot I get away with using the one hour was even on pots and pans. Just make sure you keep the filters in the bottom clean and be sure to remove the sprayer wands and rinse them and inspect for junk being caught.
Ardie is correct. That 1 hour/high temp seems to work much better AND, you can remove all those filters at the bottom. The pods will clog those. We use the liquid cleaner and now it functions better. That Rinse Aid function though? Not good.
Great idea, thanks👍
