In my channel, I aim to provide a consumer viewpoint on detailing products that are not your average Halfords brands.
I have started to use a varied amount of different products, call it compulsive buying if you like. I do it out of sheer enjoyment, a hobby, a pass time and a mental release, its therapy. Making the videos is a challenge that really allows one to see personal development and a whole new skill set acquisition.
If you enjoy new and uncomplicated content then my aim is to provide you with just that, I hope you enjoy the channel.

So after watching the video is it safe to say at 1:10 it won’t remove waxes or other protection?
@@seanelderton9970 Ive not personally found it to have a major impact, however to broad stroke it and say it won't impact LSP would be risky. Especially as not all LSP's are built the same. I would expect the abrasion of a mitt will degrade more heavily than a diluted prewash.
I only like using good quality products but i find Duel expensive not knocking Duel have just purchased a snowfoam lance from them which is amazingly good 100mm of product in 500ml of warm water with my cheap Goodyear ph nuetral snowfoam is 5litres for £5 it foams nice and even better with my autoglym polarblast 100ml in 500ml of warm water its 2.5litres for £15 its like shaving foam thick 👌😉🇬🇧
Duel have changed the colour which i prefer and added a filter now to the new one ive just bought one £39 with a karcher k adaptor included will be going to review it on my channel when it arrives 😊👍
@@SandysAutoDetailing yeah, they switched it up a whole ago now. This one received lots of negativity, but it's been solid. The biggest problem was with people cranking the lids on too tight, then ripping the neck out of the bottle. Worth testing on the new one. 👍🏻
@@MJMDetailingDiaries cool I'll remember to be gentle with the bottle I subbed to your channel mate 😁👍🇬🇧
What dilution was the iron fallout
It's RTU, most iron fallout products are. Infact I've not come across an FR that is dilutable.
Well look what popped up in my recommended list for 2024, how you doing matey?
Ha haaa classic. I'm all good my friend. Still really quite busy, but want to get back to making more videos like this one in 2024. How's you big fella?
What does this interior dressing smell like ?? Very strange too it feels grabby . Never experienced that in a interior dressed . Maybe it was the type of microfibre u were using ….
It's slightly lime scented, citrus. Smells great. I like satin, but it does feel grabby. I've foam a little foam applicator or better still microfiber covered foam block is far superior to just a cloth alone.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries yeah I opted not to go for it . The grabby issue would piss me off tbh & I’ve heard from others it’s cleaning ability is very very poor / limited too .
@@davida7713 I get that totally. It's not really meant to clean though, it has mild cleaning abilities, but as with most of this type of product, they are a dressing and protector rather than a cleaner. GT do a superb cleaner for interior, which leaves a great base for a dressing.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries I’ve recently used ceramic warehouse interior cleaner & dressing which has absolutely outstanding cleaning & leaves superb factory oem matt/satin finish with a lovely coconut scent . Best I’ve used by a mile . 2 products into 1. No grabby feel either . Dual Autocare is like many other brands overrated ,overpriced & underperforming
What does this interior dressing smell like ??
It's a citrus lime/lemon scent. Very fresh. Does not hang around too long but is pleasing to use
I don't even have a car but can't stop watching these videos class results. Must get great job satisfaction when you see your end results
Jordan, thank you. That's motivation to start filming again. I've had some time away for home projects. Will be making more soon. Thanks for your comment.
This stuff is amazing love using it every where it really is fab
It sure is, I've used it many a time since and it always comes up trump's.
No more videos? I found them very good.
Mate, I've been renovating a property following some personal trauma. I'll be back in 2023 I reckon. I'm still using and testing, just not had the additional time and resources for production. Appreciate your support, thanks for checking back in 👍👍
@@MJMDetailingDiaries good to hear from you and that your be back.
I applied some detail freaks ceramic wax to the Mrs' car yesterday. It had a full decon (wash, Fall out, tar, clay, light DA polishing & panel wipe before waxing. Was really impressed with the shine. A bit tricky to remove but the sun was popping out and warming the panels so it needed buffing off fairly quickly with 2 MF cloths. Just wondering how durable you found the wax as I'm tempted to use it on a few others cars including my own. Thanks for the vid - great watch and an even better result on the mini!
The wax I have found is a little sticky. Like it wants a higher volatility in the carrier. However it does provide good results on the gloss front. I've seen up to 6 months on our civic and about 3-4 on that mini before it wanted a top up. Thanks for your comments, keep up the good work.
Has it not just lifted some of the wax from the other panels and then redistributed it over the entire bonnet?
Definitely not, it's just laying a mask of rinse aid over the top of everything, giving the impression that the wax is dead. Give it a try for yourself, it's really quite interesting when you get into it.
Like the look of duel , thanks taking the time making the video
The Duel product has been fantastic and very worth while.
Any new vids in the pipeline? It's been 2 months since this one. 😭
Phil, I have a few bits to film, along with a mouldy pugeot 107 tomorrow hopefully. Got myself knee deep in a property renovation and it taking all my time. When i do get time, it rains...🙄
@@MJMDetailingDiaries Good to know you haven't given up. 😄
Not given up, just a change in priorities for the short term. I'll be back, I invested a bit in getting going. Hopefully it's dry tomorrow, attacking this mouldy 107. 🤮
What is clean freeks hype ? Is it detail spray or sealant as detail sprays are easy to remove ?
It is a highly concentrated silicone dioxide sealant. Generally gives 12-16 weeks protection. All round a super product.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries I have bought it to hopefully strip some old sealant on my car before I polish it
@@M.E63 you have gone for the EZ Reset Just wear gloves, it's very caustic.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries I will do thanks
@@MJMDetailingDiaries forgot to ask , now you mentioned it caustic , it won’t damage my chrome trim or any plastics ?
*👍супер и привет от тренера по футболу!!!!!!!*
when i valet cars i either use citrus as prewash then i add some apc in with my snow foam it gives that extra kick to knock off every bit of dirt and grime i guess on white its a diffrent ball game ... great video 👍
Thanks Gareth. Was a decent clean this one. Most of my videos are about products rather than specific methods or blending. Adding citrus to foams does work though. 👍👍
I know how it is as well. Done my friend’s Jag last week and it was covered in iron! I’ll need to do mine after the storm passes. I’ll be doing a video on using Stjarnagloss product only on my car to see how it is
Look forward to seeing that one when ready.
Cracking job mate
can you washing up liquid for pre wash for the harsh dirt and grime?
It's not advisable owning to the salts, plus, a decent prewash diluted at 1:10 is more effective, safer and about the same cost.
Tunes brother respect acid.
Check out ____stu____ on you tube for more beats..he's the maestro.
looking how this nitty gritty works would you just spray on rise off or could you spray on let it does its thing then add snow foam on top then rise off?
I have done both, put snowfoam over after about 5 mins, works a dream. Did it in the white Audi video
@@MJMDetailingDiaries awesome i just ordered 5 litres of it now ... roll on spring and summer ... keep on the awesome videos ... you are doing a wicked job 👍
@@garethdavies7564 thanks mate. Did you use the link I sent (20%)
@@MJMDetailingDiaries yes mate it works a dream ... i cant wait now till we have some dry weather so i can do my missis car as it well over due 👍
You'll love Nitty Gritty then. I still think it's a marvelous product
hi have you looked at bilt hamber snow and garage theropy products 👍
Bilt Hamber snow foam yes, it's good, but I find to hit PIR you need a lot of product, GT range, not as yet. Only the decon shampoo, which is excellent.
Another decent video Mat, not sure why UA-cam only alerted me to this upload this morning but better late than never! Will grab some of the Zirconite leather cleaner based on this; love me a decent foaming leather cleaner so thanks for showcasing this one!
Genuinely love the Leather cleaner, it's really good. Drop me a PM on messenger, (Mat John) . 👍
great video mate ... i loved how you tackled them seats with leather cleaner ....what brush did you use?
Gareth, I use the Autobrite leather brush in this video. It's a really nice product, it's not too big so it doesn't encourage excessively high forces.
Another extremely well put together video Mat, getting quite expert at producing very enjoyable videos now, loving the music and content, it’s great to see products working rather than just standing talking about them, looking forward to the next video mate 👍
Graeme, most kind, thank you. Stu is making some music that really sets the tone of the videos. I'm enjoying the challenge of trying to pack 3 products into 15 mins or less. People don't seem to be able to watch anything for any amount of time these days.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries you’re right there mate, but I feel sub 10 mins is little more than a sales advert with no great information being passed to the viewer, maybe that’s what viewers want 🤷🏻♂️ Personally I’ve stopped trying to analyse it now and just enjoy the process and if people watch , that’s all worth it then 👍
@@GMDetails you are right, they will skip to feast on what they need.
have you got a link to this product please?
Gareth, certainly, the product is called Duel Logic now that it has gone live. www.duelautocare.co.uk/discount/MJM20 and search for logic. This link gives you 20%
Although Duel have a 25% sale at present
@@MJMDetailingDiaries cheers i just ordered 5 litres off stuff ... whats it like on paint for prespray before snow foam?
It's an APC and I've only used it as a cleaner and extract liquid. Duel Produce the Nitty Gritty prewash which I have found brilliant. Would be interested to hear how you get on testing Logic as a precleaning solution.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries onces the weather brightens up il try it out on my partners car ...il get back you let you know 👍
Fantastic video and brilliant job Mat! Decent transformation with cracking products. Keep it up & Happy Christmas mate!
Viktor, thank you. It's hard to find the balance with the in depth to show videos. I cut out wet extract of Matt's and a bit on the footwell carpets, and a jet wash of the bootliner. But this did look fantastic in the flesh. The interior of the more expensive Audi's is really nice quality and very easy to clean.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries indeed, that’s not easy to handle balance here, you’re right. I could love to see some of them footage, although the video is brilliant without them as well 🔥
@@RoadToDetailing when you see your average watch time is 4-5 mins, it feels of such low value to add the additional content
@@MJMDetailingDiaries yes, it does. But after a matter of time, you get to the point: “I want to show it” lol 😝 it can hurt watch time for sure, but you must satisfy yourself too 👍🏻 whatever I tried to do for better avg. watch time for the audience like cut out things, use sound design and spend x10 times more on editing, etc. ended up no growth in watch time whatsoever, and not even satisfied me as there are missing pieces which I’d love to see but no one else probably don’t 😊 So, overall, I stopped focusing on avg. watch time, which isn’t a good idea, but keeps me motivated to put out the next one. Creating such content like this, takes an awful lot of time and effort, and you did a pretty good job, I’ve enjoyed it, so keep up Mat 🔥
Another great video mate. Cracking job as well.
Thank you. This was a really pleasing one to do. Quite therapeutic really.
Cracking video as always mate
Thanks buddy. Hope you've had a great Xmas.
Enjoyed the video, great turnaround! I agree with the thoughts on the Dodo Juice Tar remover, it needed more applications than necessary in my opinion so now sits unloved in a cupboard!
Thank you buddy. Yeah the dodo is great on sticky summer tar, but once set it's game over. It's like the tar spot remover tarmalade. Very specific reason for use, but not a tar slayer.
nice mate cant fault the work. great vid !!
Thanks buddy, appreciated. The interior is on edit now. Just lacking motivation 😂
@@MJMDetailingDiaries you can do it have detailing faith lol

Hey Mat, Great video! You really fought with the elements that day.. good selection of products and a lovely transformation!!! Keep it up mate 🔥
Viktor, thank you. It was a really enjoyable turnaround of nothing else. I filmed the interior and leather clean as well, that should be due soon. 👊

I'd better explain for the viewers...."Odd Balls" is my hat...... no viewer discretion required 🤣. Thanks for the comments Stephen, hopefully more like this to come in the new year.
Haha keep it pg. Look forward to it bud, I've not dipped into Dodo Juice yet other than a couple of their waxes
What was the second tar removal product you used?
It was Tardis from AutoSmart. I tend not to rave about it as it isn't always available to everyone.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries ok cheers. Got a similar job coming up on my own car 👍
@@stuartsmith5414 consumer products wise, blackjack from Duel or Detail Bug tar remover are very good.
Hi Mat, Thoroughly enjoyed this video mate, brilliant editing, nicely produced , very professional indeed!!. Also a very honest view of the products and I know you’re not one to praise a product when it doesn’t deliver even if it was free or paid for. Product wise I still haven’t seen a Dodo Juice review that has impressed me with the products used, i know you said the tar remover was for ‘well maintained’ vehicles but surely there’s room for both solvent & citrus based in the range (Autosmart have both ) 🤷🏻♂️ It would have been good to see if the Korrosol area also needed 3 hits to remove the fallout contamination, my recent GO DETAILING video showed their fallout remover to be quite weak in terms of active ingredient to dislodge the fallout, bleeding doesn’t mean it’s good. Fantastic transformation of the Audi though, you really batted the weather there and I’m glad the owners were really happy as most people just don’t have the first idea how much effort it takes. Looking forward to the next video, have a great Crimbo 🎄🎅🏻
Graeme, thank you for the quality feedback. Yes, Tarmageddon was a let down on terms of immediate performance, but it fits the dodo juice methodology and I am certainly impressed with the shampoo, flies undone and the fallout remover. The Korrosol area did take equal to clear down which was interesting. Personally I think Dodo Juice have their place, they make compromise in exchange for keeping LSP's safe. They also make a stunning wax. I think for me, understanding their products is a mix of highs and lows.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries thanks for clarifying the BH situation, very interesting scenario that , I’ve witnessed BH taking 3 hits myself so I know it’s not as great as the fanboys make out it is, 🥴
@@GMDetails Korrosol is always going to be a good benchmark. I've not found anything as yet that makes equal statement. f'off iron is a good and powerful fallout remover as you'll see from an earlier test I conducted. But when you play swapsies with Korrosol, does about the same.
@@MJMDetailingDiaries remember the MONSTERSHINE video?, their fallout remover was excellent & on my car it only needed the one hit, superb stuff 👌
@@GMDetails hopefully will be testing that soon. 👍
Cracking video Mat, I’m guessing this is the one in question on FB regarding garage coating
Yes, this is indeed that car. You can see why I knew the coating had failed. 🤣
@@MJMDetailingDiaries like you I’ve heard this ten times. They offered it to me on our Transporter at only £399 plus vat. Ah no your alright. Oh why don’t you purchase the Autoglym kit if you like to look after your own at £250 plus vat. Same kit is £59.99
@@Geeky_detail_reviews They sold it to my friend, when she took me with her to pick up her new Hyundai Kona, they said they hadn't got round to applying it yet.....that was lucky, she was all of a sudden £400 better off, and the owner of a bottle of Duel Oxide. 🤣
Great job there.
Thank you. Was a very satisfying way of spending a few hours of dad time 🤣
Great update Mat
Great update, they all look like solid products. I've used a fair bit of bouncers inside job on my car as I don't really want any change to the finish but the anti-static properties are very beneficial
Thanks Heather. I think Bouncers is great in a case of the unknown. I like the darkening effect on greyer plastics though.
Good to see a follow-up video, not many UA-cam detailers do them. 👍 I think it shows that Duel and ODK don't need to be applied very often, probably every 5 or 6 weeks which means my litre of Duel Satin will last me years. 😄
🤣. You'll be using it on your electric hovver board in 2036
Nice follow up video Mat, do you have a favourite yourself going forward ?
I don't, and the reason is I think the substrate plays a very important part. I think if you are sitting on the fence then the best choice is the bouncers as it offers all the UV protection but without any real visible darkening. In the Civic, the satin was really nice and I'll follow up with the other 2 in there at some point.
Kkd brakeaway is very good at 10:1 would be good to see that
Now you are making me spend more money.🤣
Another great impartial review Mat, well done 👍🏼 The 5L price is a huge saving if you go for Duel, brilliant for trade and domestic users alike - different for people like us constantly reviewing different brands, I rarely by 5L of anything these days as I'd never get through it 🤣 Great job mate 👍🏼👌🏼
5 litres take up too much space, you can get 6 500ml bottles to test in the same footprint 🤣. Thanks for your kind words matey. 👍👍
Thorough test as always.
Thank you 👍
Awesome video as always matey, cheers for the mention👍🏼
Can't forget you buddy. 🥰
Valet pro bilberry is probably the best pre cleaner for wheels I have ever used. I don't know why it's never being reviewed
Personally not used it, but have heard good things. Might look for some in black Friday sales and give it a whirl.
Great video Mat!, Duel certainly is a very good option in 5L , both performed very well on those wheels, your sister needs to visit more often 😜
She does indeed, that poor car. I've finished bit with ODK solo and so far it's absolutely amazing. Both the wheel cleaners did a lovely job, I'm really liking them. But when it comes down to a big purchase, the £8 difference is big.
I've got a Passat and I've found that the effect of dressings can vary quite a lot depending on where I applied them. The harder plastics can become too shiny. Thanks for comparing these products.
Yep, on the VWs I have found door card plastic does go shiney. You've just reminded me to go and film then2 week update.
I finally got around to trying this Duel interior cleaner today, it's brilliant stuff! I've heard a few people say apc's are too harsh and I agree but this stuff foams up nicely and makes the dash look like new. 👍 Keep up the good work fella, I've bought a few Duel products after watching your vids and haven't been disappointed. 🙂
You'll not go wrong with Duel, everything does really well. If you are looking to stick to one brand then it's a very solid range. Drop me a message via Facebook messenger, I have something for you.
