Mountain Man Tomahawk Build
Putting together one of my pieces of RuggedArt. This tomahawk is made from a rusty old carpenters hatchet. Transformation is fairly simple, an angle grinder and some files will take care of most of the metal work.
For this tomahawk I used a scrap piece of yew wood left over from a hand forged native battle axe I’m working on (Keep an eye out for that future vid).
Presented in this video is “Mountain Man” my latest RuggedArt creation. Let me know what you think!

Read the dimensions of each board what is a cut on a 33 and a third angle is it possible that you could give me a list of that

Sweetness, I built the design you showed, but made it 68 long, (dont know why honestly. And 22 high cause I'm a bigger dude. Then I found out I made the tenion support to long and need between a 10.5 and 14 degree angle. Amd need to re drill the pivot or bore one side out cause I went crooked, that brings up something g that I think you forgot to mention, did you drill through both sides of the Frame and clamp carrage, I have a 18 long bit. And I tried for straight and nope. So I guess a safer bet is to carefully measure and drill from both sides, I guess I could skew the clamp rail to compensate for the crookedness ehhaha.

I found a patch of some kind of bamboo in a suburb of Columbus Ohio the other day while helping a buddy move. Week prior I had been watching North02 videos about ancient people. Now I hunt, but tree stand deer hunting has always felt like cheating to me so I didn’t much care for it. I think this year I’m gonna make an attempt at spearing a deer. Use the bamboo I found for dart shafts and maybe forge a point from a large nail so it’s got a stem to go into the bamboo. If a denisovan can take down a mammoth with one then I should be able to take out a white tail

i've heard of ocean spray but never used it. when i use natural shoots i use "arrow wood" a viburnum, "red willow" , wild "cherry", and cane. with the exception of cane these other shoots can be perfectly straightened with out heat. i bundle my shoots but each day i will straighten each shaft with finger pressure and an arrow straightening tool . then re-bundle them. by the second week the shafts begin to respond and hold some straightness. if you do this every day you can straighten the shafts perfectly in about a month if you store them in a dry area. i used to use heat but about 20 or more years ago i began to just straighten them as just described. it's much easier and takes less time. i made my first heat straightened arrows from choke cherry shoots when i was around 11 years old, i'll be 72 in a few months. i've made a lot of arrows. try it and see for yourself.

3 feet long is generous for anyone's shaft. I think he's just bragging at this point. He's not wrong about having to straighten the shaft often though. You should straighten your shaft at least once a day. Another good archery tip I got from Game of Thrones is stick them with the pointy end. We are still talking about archery aren't we?

Hey man, great idea for a dipping tube! I made one myself although not as good from trash 😂 A couple of changed I'd point out is that 1. For glue, even though you clearly state you're using something you have around at the moment, I'd advise using hot melt glue so that you can undo the binding to do some clean up, just heat it and pull. 2. I'd try to use smaller diameter pipe like 1/2" so you'll not use as much liquid as you would in 3/4 pipe 3. For the lid I'd prefer the one that you can screw on But overall this does gave me some ideas I'd like to try on my next dipping tube. So, thank you! 👍
