In the past, I had made a climbing hammock with its protective mesh cocoon (so as not to have to sleep with the harness), on which was grafted a removable tarp. Then I made an aluminum portaledge with the removable teepee the right size to go on the support straps. A few days ago I wanted to make a teepee for the wood stove that I'm making too, so I was looking for ideas, and I saw your video. I have just modeled a cardboard model to realize the dimensions according to the desired shape, in order to know how many fabrics I need. I would like to make it in cotton canvas. I retained a ratio of 6 by 5. That is to say that for each triangle, I divide the base which is on the ground by 6, and I multiply the result by 5 to have the height, which gives me the form teepees from the luxury outdoor brand that I appreciate. On the other hand, I noticed that the cost of the tepee could cost me more than if I bought it commercially. To see then... But it's true that making it yourself is always a pleasure. Congratulations again for your achievement, it's a good job! 👍
@@funkydadoo very cool! It’s very satisfying to DIY. Yes, the Luxe brand tipis are extremely well priced. I bought silpoly fabric for mine from www.ripstopbytheroll.com. I think my tent cost around $130 Usd to build. Thanks again for watching.
Cool build👍👍
Excellent 👍 bravo 👏
Thank you! Have you made a DIY tent shelter before?

Thanks for the link, I'll go check it out.
See you soon and have fun
Great build! I was wondering, what weight of silpoly did you go with? membrane? Thinking about doing a similar build. Thanks!
