      It is! I really love both, I have the pod as well and mostly wear it during races on my shoe! I can share a bit about my thoughts in my video next week, but I also have a watch review video and personally coming from buying a used garmin that wasn’t super accurate to the coros was a huge game changer for me! 🙌🏼

    All these bathroom and GI talks are due to self-inflicted actions. Just don't eat any solids on race day. There are plenty of liquid nutrient options available nowadays. People load on oatmeal, peanut butter, bagels, bananas, etc then wonder why they had to go to the bathroom 3h later. Plus digesting all that requires the stomach to work and port-a-potty lines are an inconvenience.

    "Remember your why" is what we teachers use! Gosh Liz, I have seven years now of sobriety. I once overslept the Chicago marathon because I went there and got myself SO intoxicated that I hadn't sent an alarm. I ended up running it anyway, and finishing but it was SUCH a waste of my efforts and money. Plus I was humiliated when I explained it to my husband. Many many marathons later, I too will never forget my "why," and my beautiful life of the PRIVILEGE of running and living out loud. You go, girl!!! So excited for you and your future.

    I need to learn how to be positive. I’m returning to running and I’m soooo negative so I go from discomfort to suffering. I’m hoping as we get out of the desert heat and it’s cooler I can feel better about enjoying running. Good luck!

    As someone who's run marathons in all 3 versions of the Alphafly. The version 3 is just amazing, put in a 10min PB over what I ran in the AF V2. Never even thought about the shoes once during the race. Where I was always aware that the AF V1 was just a bit too aggressive for my ability/calves, and the AF V2 was just too big and clunky after 32km. Good-luck with your Chicago block!

      Thank you! The Alphafly 3's have a full carbon plate, versus the Adios Pro 3's have carbon-infused energy rods instead! They're somewhat similar, but they each have a different feel to them!

      Love it! Thank you! I personally would rather just incorporate more carbs into my everyday during training rather than all at once right before raceday! This is different for everyone, but just my preference!

    Hey Liz! Thanks for video and your thoughts. This year i train only for shot distanes (not more the 10k, mainly, 1500, 3, 5k), Last year I run my 3rd marathon 3h 3m and I understood - need to increase my VDOT There is a straight correlation between 5k and marathon - if you are able to run at your VO2 max for 5k so it shows your speed if you run 10 at your threshold, that will give endurance. 💪💪💪 in total - 5+10= gives speed, endurance which you are going to need after 30k on marathon, running 20k and more is good for your aerobic running 30-37k helps your mentally be prepared for difficulties during last 10k of marathon Recently I ran 5k 18.04 so I'm going to make sub 17.30🤩🤩🤩 All the best from Russia 😃😃

    did my 4th marathon and decided to go for sub 20 5k, the time is a huge difference when it comes to training. With a toddler I have to be home more often and can't imagine being gone again for hours at a time.

    Where I'm from, we measure distance in kilometers. So when miles are brought up, I always have to pause the video to make some calculations haha! Or that's the part where I zone out. Would it be silly if you were to insert kilometer counterpart on the video or on the description?

    I love marathons, but can't say no to a nice 5/10k run. I'm training for Oslo 2025 marathon, aiming to get my time down from 5:27:14 (Oslo 2023) to 3hrs. I've also just started focusing on my 5 and 10k times for these reasons! There's no point training longer distances if you want to improve speed (and speed endurance) quickly

    I ran a local 8K race today with 26c and 90% humidity. I empathize with you on your race. I was soaking wet after the race.

      That sounds so intense! It was 26-27c for us I believe as well but the U.K. just doesn’t get humidity like this often so it felt so humid! 🥵

    I'm a runner from halfway across the globe, and my country sits right at the equator. The average running temp here is north of 30 degrees celsius, 86 up in Fahrenheit. Humidity is about 80 up. It's gotten so warm and humid lately that the half marathon race I ran last week started at 2AM. The runners here try to get by with soaring temps, coming only out night or the wee hours before dawn. Climate change has been so harsh to all of us runners all across the globe. You actually did well so kudos to you. Don't be so hard on yourself. I wish you well.

    I live just south of San Francisco - the high this week is mid 60s, perfect for me but hard for heat training. Whenever I race outside the Bay Area the heat kicks my rear. It’s why I don’t like racing anything longer than 5Ks or 10Ks for the road. I can do longer on trails in the summer but at a much easier effort. So I can relate to how you feel … it’s hard to put in all this training and have a race go south because of factors out of your control. But like you said, the good thing about shorter distances is you can race another one next week if you want. This is just another brick in the house of great performances you’re building for yourself. As we all know progress isn’t linear; we need to keep grinding and putting ourselves out there for the magical races that will eventually happen. Anyway this is still a big improvement given your last 5K, but it’s totally okay to feel frustrated and disappointed. Hang in there ❤

    Aw I really feel for you - don't get downhearted! It was SO hot on Wednesday - really really impacts performance. I was glad I wasn't racing that day tbh (had thought about doing that race!). That course also isn't the fastest, my husband has raced there and found it's not as fast as you might expect. You've been putting in the work so it WILL come. Keep the faith and keep being brave and putting it out there ❤

    Definitely relatable, I was aiming for sub 2 at the Hackney Half with perfect training but was SO hot I was 10 minutes off 😂

      Hackney Half is always notoriously on the first hot weekend of the year!! Heat has such a huge impact on your training so don’t let it be a reflection of you as a runner 🫶🏼
