Hi, I'm Alison. I want to share my love for cozy stationery, art, and home interiors (often mixed with health and wellness topics) on this small corner of the internet. I’m passionate about trying new things, learning new skills, and making things as a way to relax and recover when I’m feeling burnt out.

hobonichi techo original A6 and weekly supplement full year flipthrough | realistic, functional
Hi friends!
Welcome to my first video of 2025! This week’s video is a full year flipthrough of my Hobonichi Techo Orignal and Weekly Supplement. Although I started 2024 using the Hobonichi Cousin and my Traveler’s Notebook for my daily planning, I downsized to the Hobonichi A6 and Weekly Supplement halfway through the year - and never looked back! I love this system and I’ll be using the same one in 2025.

I'll also be flipping through my planers to show you where I'm at with each of them. This has been a helpful e...

Hi, friends! This week, I’m sharing three different meal planning methods using three different Hobonichi sizes. Since 2023, I’ve been happily using a Hobonichi Weeks for meal planning. Your not suppose to use the same paint on the wall as well as the skirting,as their a paint for plastered walls and another kind for skirting boards,if they skirting gets knocked or stuffed the paint you used for your walls on their skirting will easlery scratch and start to peel.
What’s that TSL leather pouch product please, at around 18:20
Hey! I have a Lamy safari and I just wanted to drop a quick comment. With no goals of changing your mind but rather let you know a cool thing! The reason why the Lamy pen has that grip is because in Germany most elementary schools teach cursive and Lamy is the most popular choice there. As the consumer base is very young and uneducated they made that grip because that’s how your “supposed” to grab the pen to write! So they went that route to make it easier for beginners/young people to have an easier time getting used to the “way” you write with a fountain pen.
I wonder since I’m so used to my apple pen that I’d be ok with the Lamy Safari? 🤔
Did the corners of your notebooks got damaged when using the TSL cover? The cover's edges are rounded and i'm worried the corners of my MD notebooks will get bent..
Just another brown ink to try in your pen - J Herbin Lie do The works very nicely in the brown Pilot Custom 823!!!!
Thank you for the detailed flipthrough! The A6 is such a great size, and it's wonderful to see all the ways in which you've used it. Loved the chunkiness comparison with the new book at the end - so satisfying!
I preordered this from WonderPens in November of 2024 and just received it in January 2025. I got the same color as you. I love it!!!
That is amazing! It’s still my favourite everyday pen case. I hope you continue to love it over time! 😍
Hi Alison, here's the video I recorded for you. I think some of it is no longer relevant since I saw what you're doing so far, but maybe it'll spark some ideas. :) ua-cam.com/video/D4HMOFHmkkg/v-deo.html
You see incredible! 💗 Thank you for taking the time to record this and share it again. I don’t know how I missed it before! I left a rather long reply in the video’s comment. It’s probably one that warrants a TLDR at the top… don’t feel pressured to respond. You’ve given me so much to think about! Thanks again!
Please please please no music in the background. I literally can’t watch videos with the music. 😢
Thank you for the feedback! I will keep that in mind for future streams.

Thank you so much for sharing the recipe and video! I can't wait to try it! 😍
Thank you!
Wonder pens FINALLY restocked the wallet and mine just arrived today 🎉 I love it! Your videos first introduced me to Superior Labor, thank you!
Oh yay!!! I’m so excited for you! Which colour did you get? 😍
Hi would you recall the prices in JPY of the TN passport customization?
This may not be 100% accurate because the receipt combined the cost of the standard and passport TN, but I think the passport customization (including the TN passport) was around 16500 yen. I hope that helps!
@ thank you!!
Thank you so much for sharing this! 💜🙏 I struggle with mental health & autoimmune disorders, and I have never thought to track in this way. I can already tell, as I set it up, that it’s going to make a huge difference for me! I struggle in Dr’s appts when they ask how long/how severe etc...especially when I’m in a depression, and struggle with brain fog & cognitive blunting. I also love what you said about finding an anchor to look back on, to show that you got through before. This is genuinely so helpful. Thank you so much. 💜💜💜
Thank you so much your kind words. I’m so glad that you’ve found this helpful. My 2024 book has already down in handy multiple times while speaking with my doctor and insurance companies. It takes a bit of extra time to update it, but it has been so helpful in making appts more efficient and effective. Thanks again for taking the time to comment, and I hope it truly helps you with your mental health and autoimmune disorders. 💓
When people ask what hobby I have? Answer, I collect hobbies! Lol. I feel your pain. 65 here and never considered ADHD, Hmmm. Now I have an excuse.
Yes! I have a rather extensive collection of hobbies 😅
This was such a nice comforting video! I stumbled upon your TN&Kurashiki video and now I am just browsing though your channel. You have such a lovely voice and this whole video felt like a good friend to journal along with. I think you might have inspired me to maybe do a flip through video of my previous journals as well haha. I look forward to more videos from you and to keep up with the little community you cultivate 💚
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to hear that you found it comforting. It would be wondering if you did a flip through of your previous journals - I would love to watch it if you did! Also, thank you so much for letting me know about the broken link! 🤦🏻♀️ I think it’s fixed now!! 🥰
That was amazing!! Thank you for such a thorough dive into the Traveler's Factories & SB Reserve! I can't wait to see them all when we visit in spring 2025!
Thank you so much! Ahhh, that’s so exciting that you’re going in the spring! That’s so soon!!!! Will you be visiting all of the Traveler’s Factories? 🤩
I love your Japan series. I‘m looking forward to more of them. We will visit Japan in August for the first time. Can’t wait! I would be interested in your trip in general as well. 🥰 thanks for sharing with so much love and detail. Greetings from Germany!
Thank you so much! I’m planning on recording another one it the next week or so. That’s so so exciting that you’re going in August! Where are you planning on visiting? 😍
@ we will be in Tokio Kyōto Kurashiki and Hakone. Also planning on doing daytrips from Kyōto and Tokio as a starting point. We don’t want to overwhelm ourselves. There is so much to see. I find it hard to choose. Also going to visit all Travelers Company Stores like you did. Looking very much forward to your next Japan Video. 🫶
I have just started this journey with fountain pens with truphae subscription box for about 6 months. Now, I am researching and watching video after video to make my informed decisions of what I want next. I was lucky to have gotten a Twsbi, Kaweco, Conklin, and I bought three Lamys. My newest decision has been to order some nibs and changing each pen I have with different nibs before I order any pens. What would you suggest for nibs?
That is so fun! I hope you've been enjoying your fountain pen journey. It sounds like you've already got a nice set of pens! I'm still learning about nib switching myself, but I have gotten a few Kaweco nibs and find them very easy to change! I think TWSBI can be easy to change, depending on the model you have. The only TWISBI I have is an ECO, and I don't think it's very easy to change that nib. I also believe you can buy spare nibs for your Lamy pens, so that may be a good candidate for nib switching! As for Pilot pens, I know some models have. nibs that can be changed - for example, you can buy different nib units for the pilot vanishing point / capless pens and you can easily swap nib heads between pilot metropolitan pens. I hope that helps!
It was really reassuring to see how adaptable you are with your books. I love how both of them evolved over the course of the year. I'm trying to be more open to changing how I use mine when they are no longer serving me, this gave me a lot to think about! ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m also trying to be open to evolving the way I use my planners as my situation changes. ❤️ Sometimes I can be quite stubborn about change, and it’s not always a good thing. 😅
The live was so fun and inspiring! I’ve resurrected an April start weeks that was a failed meal tracker last year and it worked really well. Hope I can join the next live but will join the rewatch if I can’t make it
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and that you were able to make use of an April start weeks! Thank you as well for sharing your recipe. I’m adding it to my meal plan in the next two weeks. I can’t wait to try it! 🍲
The crinkling pages of your ink swatches were lovely! I so appreciate your ink recommendation for the 823. It has to be my favourite pen of my collection 😊. Thank you for this flipthrough!
I love that crinkling sound as well! 🥹 I think hearing all of those crinkly page turns motivated me to do a few ink swatches in my 2025 A6. It’s an instant mood booster to hear that sound when I open my book every day. I’ve got to say that the 823 continued to be my all-time favourite pen, despite the piston mechanism making it slightly harder to clean. I’m so glad you’re loving it, too!
ua-cam.com/video/NQHUzUMVvQU/v-deo.html
This is amazing! Thank you so much! I’ll add this into the community book as well!
I am going to make a video about the process for making my pancake recipe I sent you :)
Thank you so much for sharing your pancake recipe! I’ll add it to the community recipe book today. 🥞
I would love to hang out and swatch videos with you guys that sounds like so much fun :)
Wish you a fruitful and happy new start of 2025
Thank you so much! 🥰
I always love your videos! Thank you for sharing. I bought an a6 hon from last year because it was on super sale and I’m still trying to figure out how to use it so this was inspiring to me ❣️
Thank you so much! That’s so exciting that you got an A6 hon on sale! For some reason, the sales never seem to reach Canada. I am kind of hoping the rainbow cover from this year might be available on sale at the end of this year. I really loved that cover! Which one did you get?
Enjoyed watching your flipthrough. Love all the inks you used❤ so fun !! X
Thank you so much! I very much enjoyed your part 1 and 2 of your 2025 line up videos as well! ☺️
I put Sailor Suki Gokoro in my 823 and it’s a wonderful pairing!
I just looked it up - gorgeous colour! 😍 I’m adding it to my to-try list. It kind of reminds me of a little of Rikyucha? Another favourite of mine!
the livestream was so fun, I ended up making miso soup that week and it turned out to be really tasty. i ended up buying a weekly supplement to go with my hobonichi 5-year fitness and health journal, that was such a good suggestion from you, thank you. i'm using it for more tracking and for weekly reflections and mostly disregarding the daily columns.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I made the miso soup as well and it was amazing. We are having leftovers tonight and I’m so excited. I’m glad you found a weekly supplement for your 5-year! Will you be showing it on your channel? :)
@@LittleCocoStudio yes, will definitely be showing the weekly supplement in a January flip thru type video, I'm already loving the extra space!
I have that Pink/Gold 2019 Limited Edition Decimo as well in an EF nib. It took a couple months for me to get it to where it wasn't scratchy but it's fixed now with a little micro mesh. It is one of my favorite Pilot capless pens. Great to see you enjoying it; it's such a pretty girly pen, I adore mine... I just started watching your videos after seeing you on the Live today! I had to subscribe, I love your content! Thank you for having a channel. I am spending my weekend catching up on all your videos!
Thank you so much for stopping by and watching my videos! It was nice to meet you at Liane’s livestream. ☺️ The pink decimo is so pretty! It’s one of my favourites as well! What other capless colours do you have? I’ve been very curious to try using micromesh to help with the scratchiness. Have you found that it impacts how thin the line thickness is when you used the micro mesh?
Can you share your coffee itinerary?
It might take me a while to compile everything together, but I can try and when I’ll do, I’ll post about it in my community tab :)
@ awesome I’m going to Japan in November !! I’m subscribing so I don’t miss it!!
This was so much fun to watch!!! Congrats on your first livestream!
Thank you so much, Liane! 💕
I missed your live-- just am re-watching it now. From Toronto - now watching in California.
Ooh! Welcome! Thank you so much for catching the replay from (I imagine sunny? ☀️) California!
So excited to catch this on the replay while I was doing some journaling and sewing. It was fun to see what you all had been up to. Loving the idea of the purple inks. I am also thinking about getting Kobe Hydrangea and Watermen's Tender purple. I need to make a sample/bottle swatch listing for this year. It's spread across a couple of random pages. I would love to join another live session for meal planning, anything!
Thank you so much for checking out the replay!!! 😍 That’s so nice that you were able to get some journalling and sewing down (sewing continues to be an aspirational hobby I want to learn so badly, but haven’t been able to focus my attention on 😅). I actually have a sample of watermen’s tender purple, but I forgot to swatch it! It’s been recommended a few times, so I’m going to add it to the lineup. I’m also interested in Kobe Hydrangea! I’m definitely going to do more streams, so I would love to see you at a future one (as long as it works with your schedule!).
I have the drowsy blue, the dark one, and I paired it with Colorverse Rainy Day. I think the combo is fantastic.
I have yet to try Colorverse as an ink brand, but I hope to, soon. They have so many pretty inks and Rainy Day looks gorgeous!
This was so relaxing to watch along as I moved into my Hobonichi A6 this afternoon! I’m pretty sure I had those biscuits in Japan as well 😄. Thank you for making the replay available for those of us who couldn’t make the original time. I hope to join you for a future stream 💛. I was also interested to hear about your experience with Platinum Carbon Black as I had the same struggles with it in my Pilot Vanishing Point. I might try a soft nib before I give up on the ink.
Thank you for this feedback - I was hoping it would be relaxing experience. 🥹 I’m happy you’re here now, and it would be wonderful to catch you in a future steam, as long as it works with your schedule! So far, I’m having much better luck with PCB in my platinum 3776 - possibly because of the slip and seal pen cap? I’ve heard so many say they haven’t experienced issues with PCB in the pilot VP, and I’ve heard even more positive things with using De Atramentis Document black with the VP. I’m tempted to try it, but I do also have a large bottle of permanent black ink already… 😅😬
@ Hearing so many people happily use their PCB ink in a matte black VP was exactly why it surprised and disappointed me when it didn’t work for me. The dryness meant that even if I paused for 10secs to think about what to write next would cause another hard start. I had wondered if my VP was faulty but it’s behaving much better with the ink cartridge that came in the box. Thank you for the ideas to try different combos! By the way, I’m @helenaliu commenting from my new channel 🙂. Looking forward to seeing your next video!
@ Helena! Congratulations on launching your channel! I just subscribed! 😍 The cartridge vs converter thing is so interesting! I don’t understand how that could help, but I’m glad it seemed to for both of us!
@ You’re so sweet, thank you so much for your support! 💛
Hi! I’m new to your channel. Thank you for such a great review on these two pouches. Would you happen to know if the pen wallet fits a regular Hobonichi weeks? Just by sliding it inside by chance? Thank you.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Unfortunately, the Hobonichi Weeks won’t fit in the own wallet. That would be amazing if it could, though!
@ Ah! Bummer!! Thank you for letting me know. ❤️
Ahhh I’m so sad to have missed this. I was so jet lagged I fell asleep at 12:30pm and just woke up at midnight. 🙈🙈
Aww, it sounds like you needed to catch up on sleep. Jet lag is rough. I’m planning to do more, so maybe I’ll catch you at a future one! ☺️
You’re an angel!! This video was so helpful, I 100% hear you on getting distracted when you have a planner for absolutely everything. Really easy to let yourself go onto something else. Can’t wait to do this 2025 💗
Thank you for your kind words. I’m so glad you found this video helpful. How is 2025 going for you so far? :)
Lilian’s Super Stuffed Miso Soup: SOUP BASE: - Miso paste - Finely-grated ginger (the smaller the better, so use a microplane or - my favourite - a ceramic grater plate) - Onion, thinly sliced - Water, chicken stock, or vegetable stock - Dashi (add lots of umami flavour, but not everyone has access to this so don’t worry about it!) OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: (All optional; go with what you have on hand or appeals to you!) - Extra-firm tofu, cut into squares - Salmon or trout (cubed with skin-on so it doesn’t flake and fall apart in the soup; just don’t forget to descale it at home or have it descaled for you!) - Seafood fish balls (same found in hot pot) - Daikon (sliced) - Napa cabbage (the long/tall and narrow variety holds up much better in soups!) - Mushrooms (shitake, enoki, and king mushrooms) - Peas - Corn - Carrots - Bok choy (sliced) - Green onions - Seaweed (hard and/or soft, depending on your preference) - Kim chi (if you want some extra spice and flavour) This is a super malleable, one-pot recipe. Even if you only choose 2-3 ingredients from the optional list, it will be way more hearty and healthy than what you get at any restaurant! You can also cook rice separately, and add it to your bowl of miso soup. Hope everyone enjoys customizing and playing with this recipe! (: Let me know if you have any questions! (I was trying to keep the recipe simple, but I'm more than happy to go into details)
Thank you so much for sharing!!! I can’t wait to try it! 😍🍲
Lilian, I’m thinking about creating an open access document that holds our recipes. Would you be open to me including yours, with credit? :)
@@LittleCocoStudio OUH that's so fun! Definitely a big yes from me!☺
Thank-you Lilian
Could you pls let me know what brand is the green weekly planner?
It’s the Weekly Supplement that Hobonichi makes. It’s slightly smaller than their A6 techo and it’s very affordable. I love it!
My gf & I went to all except the one at the Narita airport. She got a passport notebook, some inserts, and stickers. We even went to Itoya & Loft to get stationery too. We can't wait to go back to see the items at the Starbucks Reserve. We went to the one in Ginza, but they didn't have any Traveler's merch.
Ooh! What passport notebook colour did your gf get? 😍 It sounds like you hit a lot of great spots! And you already have something to look forward to for your next visit!
