Developing your Visual Language as a Filmmaker
Wonderful video. Keep up the great work. Thank you. Btw, was your talking head in this video recorded with your Red Komodo?
Hey Aya, hope you doing great! One question, what cameras did you use for your collabs in Paris and other clients? Lumix? Sony? Im looking for a camera that works fantastic at photography and video content, and i was thinking about buying Canon EOS r50. What do you think? Kisses from Spain! 💋
Hey! I brought the Canon R5 for this project as I needed to do some photo coverage as well, but I also filmed on the Sony FX3 quite a bit. Normally my setup is either the Komodo or the FX3 for more run and gun. If you’re looking to dive more into filmmaking I’d recommend the FX30. :)
Awesome video Aya, extremely useful insights for someone trying to work my way into the industry :)
So glad! Thanks Jack!
Cool, i follow you on insta and reconized your face!
Legend!
Aya, you are underrated, you have unique style of directing, beside your pure and humble personality, to me that's matter.. We need more videos of your work and I didnt skip the sponsorship.. All the best.
Thank you so much for the genuine comment. Means a lot!! 🙌
Amazing work there Aya, chapeau 👏 Enjoyed watching you being in your element in Paris 🇫🇷
merci beaucoup 🫶
I love this video btw. I your work your experienced your story.
Thank you so much!
Did you shoot & edit the video's? Or were you mainly directing/producing? Thanks
Yes! Directing, filming and editing. We’d usually be two camera units and sometimes we’d divide editing and grading.
Amazing Video! Definitely need a in depth analysis of that fencing video 😍🙌
Thanks! Noted. :)
thanks for posting
Please am from Tanzania🇹🇿 in Africa film actor but director please can we chat more together
Hey Aya, thank you for all your content, we love watching the videos you put out! Just a recommendation from my side, we use Backblaze to backup all our drives as we also don't work with a NAS yet, I would highly recommend that as a backup solution for your drives!
What are you doing now? Hopefully filming.
I am a big fan and I can see that you are on track of becoming the 1 million sub channel.
came back to this video just for your affiliate link to Artlist
Wow, is that DZO Arles prime lens? I happen to know the adapter you used on it, thank you😊
Весьма интересно
Nice video ! First time here and....SUBSCRIBED !!! I think the Tomtoc pouch and the SSD pouch are really things that I need and would use ! Nice heads up, thanks !
@@TopshelfJunior Welcome aboard! Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video! 🫶
Thanks for the Afterplug recommendation, i've directly ordered one because it is so annoying to constantly carry around the ssd, hoping not to accidentally unplug it.
It’s a game changer!
You can accept the gear give it to yours loyal subscribers 😂

You have become one of my favorite youtubers! Thank you for the lovely and informative videos! Many blessings <3
Means a ton! Thanks so much :)
I love NPF batteries. a lighter alternitive to use when traveling and still have a days worth of power. Plust the ones I've been buying all charge via USB-C.
Definitely! They’re really useful!
Aya. The simplicity of your videos are so therapeutic.Thank you
Appreciate it! :)
That hoodie is amaizng!!
Yeahh!! So happy to hear that 🫶
I might be getting one. So excited!!!
Oh how cool!! 🫶
What do you use for audio? In another video I saw a shotgun mic on there. Do you just input the mic directly in the Komodo? If I do that with my mic, the audio levels are super low and noisy.. and I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, or that it's normal on the Komodo.
I use a Rode Videomic NTG and it’s worked well so far.
I like the way you organised it
Pretty nice labeling here 3:31, this is kind of a good habit and not only when working on projects... definitly helps on saving time and stress in the future :p
Glad it was helpful! ;)
hi AYA i love u again
Good luck - v. well presented look at how this doc. was put together !

Thank you! Appreciate it :)
Using that air vent was such a cool idea the outcome looked dope! Love the content😎!
Haha right! Thanks so much! 😁
What's the website you use to build those pre prod decks, looks superclean love it. Great chanel btw, found out about you while looking for some content about the komodo
Thank you! I suppose you’re referring to the Milanote board where I put all of the reference shots and the storyboard. It’s a great platform I use it for every project :)
@@lostinayaland awesome thank you
Great work. Great video 💪
Thank you 🙌
Great work as always Aya 🔥Appreciate the spec breakdown
Thank you so much! :)
I loved the music and the final video its nice
Thank you! 🙏🏼
I'm planning to get a red Komodo soon...do you think i should save up more to get the Komodo x or i should just get the OG komodo 6k and get things going? are you planning to upgrade soon?
Hey! I think it depends what your priorities are and what kinds of projects you’re planning on filming with it. What camera do you currently own? The X has better audio capabilities because of the xlr output. But I think the OG is still an excellent choice. I don’t plan on upgrading, I really hoping for an FX3 mark ii and then I might switch entirely, just because of the smaller form factor and current projects type. Hope that helps :)
@@lostinayaland I'm currently using the panasonic GH6. I have two options...it's either the sony FX6 or the OG Komodo.
Both are solid! Again I think it depends on the kind of projects you work on. Exciting though - good luck with the purchase! :)
The process is great! The result aren't
Your spec ad is beautiful - gorgeous compositions, editing and sound design! Loved seeing the breakdown too. Keep crushing it, Aya! 🙌
Ah thanks so much, Marieta!! And likewise, can’t wait to watch your upcoming vids 🫶🏼✨
i just love breakdown videos, and this one was so good!!🔥🎥turned out so cool and the artlist ai voiceover was mad🤯
Yay, thanks Teja! Yeah right! Artlist absolutely crushed it 🙌🤩
Love this! Great video! I'm inspired now to shoot a spec video. (even though I"m a colorist)
Thanks so much! That’s great to hear! 🙌✨
Great rig! I've been using the Bright Tangerine kasbah system which I love but this title solution also looks fab! Interesting monitor positioning too! I always mount mine out forward in front of my face at eye level but yours seems a bit more relaxed.
Thanks Ed! Yes, I’ve heard great things about the BT shoulder rig. Yeah about my monitor… I need to buy a better magic arm haha, but I do like mine to be sitting a bit lower so that I can keep my eyes on the talent as well. :)
Neat video!
Thanks! Really appreciate it!
