    I love the 35 as well. I have the 16 and it is really great with a bit of distortion on the sides, but lovely image. The distortion is less noticeable with stationary shots.

    I actually have the 21mm, 30mm and 45mm Irix Cine Lens EF. But for my test the focus ring is too stiff and I think to move to the Vespids. Is the focus ring smooth?

    They said these are the best lenses for the Komodo! Let me know what you think 🤓

    hahahah I would also run out of the country with them. I'm seriously considering these but also recently saw the NiSi Athena and I'm thorn. The thing with my work is that is commercial, so a clean look is not bad as not all my jobs will need character.

      Yes, I think they’re great for commercials. I just find myself doing more branded / documentary work so while those have their place for that too, I just want something with more character and “personality”. Currently testing the Helios 44-2 and think it would be great to have the Arles paired with a few Helios shots just sprinkled in the video, you know.

    So why not just use Canon EF or RF lenses? Never really understood the differences. Your next video?

      Well, i think this is a decision. To use, learn cinema lenses.
      As you can see, cinema lenses a little bit different than a regular EF, RF lens. For example, the aperature ring, focus gear for follow focus.
      In general, a cinema lens gives you more "cinematicness" however it's not just the lens you use.

      Rabbit hole with many answers;
      - Identical or near identical primes, same fit and behavior on all primes on set.
      - Extremely accurate long manual focus (even on budget primes)
      - No / less breathing when focusing.
      - May target specific look, whereas photo cameras all strive to be as neutral and perfect as possible.
      - PL mount. I haven’t tried it but supposed to give super tight stable connection to a PL lens. Less shake when touching lens and able to take more weight.
      Iirc there are solutions for some cameras like Komodo to get the adapter secured with screws to camera/cage so you get similar PL hard lock to camera.
      All in all it is supposed to give you very professional controlled focus with less operator induced shake. Even for non-pros that don’t need cinema grade features just having a 2-3 cams on a MC shoot it is very nice to have identical budget primes with a long and accurate focus ring.
