@@ethanarvay3555 those are probably gonna be the harder ones to find. Usually when they’ve been discounted for that long, they’ve probably already been picked through. I would aim your search at more the more recent ones towards the end of the video, and then hope you get lucky with some of the older discounts.

yeah, Eastgate is the store in the video that had the replacement barcodes on the games that were on the on the endcap. It's the only one in town that I have seen that's doing that...

They do that on ALL their clearance items. Kind of annoying. Dunno why that would or wouldn't be a company-wide practice/policy.

@ yeah, ever other store that I found stuff at in town doesn't cover up that original barcode. In the past, certain stores would just have different prices in the computer,. Guess they made it uniform everywhere, and if they want to charge more, they have to change the barcode

I picked up RPG , Kirby return to Dreamland deluxe, Xbox series x starfield, PS5 Tekken 8, I found these in southeast Michigan

Bummer, I will say my success rate in Cincinnati was about 75 to 80% of stores. But when I went back to my hometown, it was about 25%.

Yeah, I do get one out every once in a while. Usually when there’s a big clearance deal like this, I try to spread the word so folks can take part.

Did you remember to ask an employee? Pretty much none of the stores in my area had any of these games listed as available on the shelf. They were just sitting in the cabinet in the back and the employees went back to look and see if they had any copies. If not, you might want to run back again and ask about some of the titles that I mentioned that were more recently marked down and see if they have them in the back. Meijer by me have a tendency to just take the game display off the wall in the game section as soon as it starts to be clearance.

Nothing will ever beat the three cent Walmart games. Wish that would be a thing again…

It may sound weird, but I just take a picture of all the barcodes of the games that aren’t on clearance currently. And every time I go in to get groceries or what not I go to the price, checking machine and run through all the barcodes in the pictures on my phone and see if anything pops up with clearance.

I do know that a bunch of games at Walmart for some reason got three cented out and taken out of the shelves. Advance wars was one of those games. I have heard that Nintendo does make revisions on certain games putting a lot of the patches onto the cartridges so I wonder if that’s what’s happening and they’re getting rid of the old carts.

@ i believe Walmart is giving up in general from physical like bestbuy, and yeah the only thing left is Nintendo games but I checked the prices and there wasent anything on clearance

I was reluctant to get an OLED switch unless I could find it on sale. But my son has an OLED and I’ve been in awe of how vibrant the screen is. I don’t think I would ever pay full price for one, but this is right up my alley. And I really love the aesthetics of the red all over

Ha ha that might actually be a little extreme. I will say that my success rate what about 80% in Cincinnati. But when I went to my hometown, it dwindled till about 25%. But it seemed like almost every town I went to had at least one Meijer that had a decent amount of games available.

I always say if you’re trying to find success when it comes to these clearance deals, you gotta hit as many stores as you can in your area if you have multiple available. So I would check a bunch of Meijers and see if you can find Final Fantasy in stock.

I was reluctant to jump on the OLED bandwagon until my son got his and I saw how vibrant the screen was. I told myself if I could find one for cheap enough I’d probably upgrade. My switch starting to have some issues kind of pushed me over the edge to finally snag one. I think the fact when they did the revision and only updated the screen kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I thought for sure they would make the dock be able to have better resolutions with a revision. But hey, I guess that’s what we’re getting with the Switch 2!!!

@CincyGameHunting I went backwards. Got an OLED first once I resold enough cheap finds to hardly use any of my money at Gamestop. Then a few months ago I got a Switch Lite. The OLED screen is insanely good though. Extra memory is nice as well.

Yeah, I was pretty ecstatic on what they were marking down. Great way to build the collection for cheap.

My wife always rolls her eyes at me when we step into Meijer to get groceries and I go over to the price checking machine and start scanning all of the barcode pictures on my phone. But hey, it works out in the end. Made Christmas a lot easier to shop for when most of the games my son wanted were all six dollars apiece.

Not gonna lie I took a batch over to GameStop when they had that most wanted game list come out where they were spiking a lot of the trade credit. Helping me save up to get my Switch 2 when it gets released. I tend not to bring too many of them over to GameStop for risk of getting trade banned if I lose track which ones I’ve traded recently.

I’ve only had one or two stores where the employees were less than helpful. The more pain in the butt thing usually is finding a courtesy phone to get an employee to come back and help. They’re making the courtesy phones harder and harder to find. There were some stores that I had to actually go and ask the greeter at the front door to find somebody to send back to electronics. It’s funny because a lot of the times if it’s a younger employee, they’re shocked at how cheap these games are as well and tell me that they’re gonna try and grab a couple of games as well.

That is pretty crazy. I don’t think those cases are still there anymore. They redid the gaming section not too long ago and they have the low sitting cases now not the big tall ones on the wall I believe.

@@CincyGameHunting been awhile since i been in there...dont know if it still holds the title but that used to hold the place as the highest theft walmart in the entire state...folks run out the back door through a hole in the fence and just disappear into 4 tower apartments...hated working that location cause we never got quarterly bonuses due to all the damn theft

Yeah, I don’t got time in my life to mess around with reselling things. That’s kind of been my rule for a long time now just grab one per store. Any extras that I find at other stores can be used to trade for things that I really want. I actually used a good chunk of the extra games this past Christmas for Christmas presents.

Yeah, I always feel bad putting out videos that aren’t available for all folks to be able to get. But I figure, you never know when people might be passing through the areas where a Meijer might exist in. It’s always good to know what to look for if you do.

Yeah, I miss the days of the large glass cases so you could see everything that was available. They seem to at least be keeping up with the switch stuff that comes out but they pretty much just abandoned Xbox and PlayStation. Like you said there’s only like a few token games in those and half the time they don’t even bother putting up a placard to show the game.

From what I’ve seen, they take all of the games that go on clearance off the website.

Oh my God, tell me about it. I hate games that have limited voice acting, and they just repeat the crap out of everything.

@@kristopherjones1531 all depends on what you’re looking to trade towards I guess. All in all I think the store that give the most to trade-in percentage wise compared to price chart would probably be Game n Groove over on the west side. Unless things have changed and they were offering around 60% of PriceCharting for trade value. RLA video games on the east side gives 50% for anything over $20 value and less for things under $20. I haven’t quite been able to figure out what the trade set up is for We Buy Games because they are all over the place. I’ve had time for they gave me great value and other time for their giving me a quarter for everything that I bring in. Nostalgic video games in Florence used to be terrible with their trade-in values but they got really good after they kinda did some structural changes with how they did things. Their value has been a lot better in recent years. Arcade Legacy pays fairly well. I’m not sure what their exact amount they offer is, but they have never really lowballed me on anything. The only ones I could think of on top of my head.
