    I was only a trainee when I heard that. It was a strange day. I was in DA-40 and saw a black dot in the sky when this happened. We were at the base leg of our circuit flight. TCAS told me there was a traffic at 12 o'clock high, same altitude. Told me to climb. But we were the only aircraft in the vicinity and it was confirmed by the controller as well. Idk what happened. But that black dot disappeared when everything turned back normal.

      Actually, we use 3 high resolution wide angle projectors to create an immersive experience - there are no external monitors involved. What translates onto UA-cam post production isn't always necessarily representative of real life.

      @manchesterflightsimcentre ah. I was going to say " if it's a flight sim, having the best visuals out the windows to simulate the craft at altitude is a BIT on the important side I would say, as real life hopefully doesn't look like stuff from the PS2

    wonderful video ,thank you so much .and one thing here ,about the inbound track to Dayne 312 on the map ,I am wondering if it is a good idea to change from the computed 311 to the map figure 312 ,because according somewhere from the Manuel it said there might be a small difference from cdu track and map track .because they use different magnetic variation sometime . thanks again for the hard work .

    What I don‘t get: you calculate and measure the outbound time (45 sec) and then select flaps 2, which brings the speed down. How can you still rely on the 45sec when the speed is changing at some random point?

      You do have a point, I think Airbus recommend just to be configured flap 2 before turning base, so presumably, they consider the exact moment of selection to have little consequence. That being said, we tend to select flap 2 abeam the threshold so that it is consistent and isn't a random point at all.

      thanks for the response. well, as you said, most Airbus info I can find suggest that flaps 2 is set more or less just before turning base. Setting flaps 2 at the point you also start the timer seems odd to me, because you'll counting 45 seconds of a movement with a (maybe inconsistently) degrading speed. but then again, I guess if you always do it this way, you'll end up with a consistent and satisfying result too.... :) @@manchesterflightsimcentre

    Hello, It is a very interesting video. Can you make a second part for mode revisions, please? I know that there are much more situations where you hear the tripple klick sound. For example if you arm approach mode, and then select heading because atc wants to give you vectors and you change from app mode to heading mode. Also when BTV is active and you miss the selected vacator (if I am not wrong). Also the when approach capabilities change, when disconnecting autopilot or autothrust system during ILS approach for CAT 1, 2, 3a, 3b. Do also the A330/A340/A350/A380 have the same mode revisions? Thanks and I hope you can answer me the question.
