I totally loved this interview more than I had imagined. I wanted to share it in my instagram stories but I couldn’t. Both women so intelligent, graceful, insightful, inspiring It was truly delicious their conversation and left me with a bursting heart. I am going through a difficult personal time after many years and it has been a deep process I truly believe in a support system and how others hold you when you need it and although I know we women have a lot of barriers to overcome, I feel we have more predisposition and freedom to do so. To connect and look for support I have however 3 boys. The loves of my life. Three beautiful young men I want to be happy and raise well. I worry that men dont have the same ability or predisposition to regroup, to connect in community as we women do. I believe that would also help in shapping men and the world. More connected, content and understood men would have an effect on how they behave in the world and in their relationships Interviews, stories like this are amazing and necessary. I also hope it expands to the men’s world as well ❤️

So meaningful. At 72, i find myself needing the kind of help i have actively worked to give women and girls for close to 50 yrs. From creating safe houses and shelters for women, running schools of liberation and empowerment for girls at risk, teaching how to identify and eliminate race and gender-based barriers to the best education for all, lobbying for equal access for lesbians and gay folks, to working directly w women in prison and supporting them upon release, to facilitating restorative justice healing circles in schools, courts and community, my life has bern abt learning, listening, sharing, loving, and fighting back. I would give anything to talk to someone in Melinda’s circle abt the evolution of this ordinary life of a single mother surviving by working alongside women impacted by systems designed to keep women in their place. I hope you will reach out to me.
