    Mulan should've said something like "Mother! This lady is undressing me." Mulan surprisingly didn't bother running away from or trying to resist the bath lady quickly undressing her.

  • @mackenzieasbury9216

    In the following order she being the bath lady yanks off Mulan's green kimono top, her red sash, next her blue corset, lastly she tugs and finally removes Mulan's yellow dress flinging it upward like a tablecloth. Mulan was staring downward as the bath lady grabbed her yellow dress and yanks it off. She was clearly puzzled by the lady tugging on it. She then pushes Mulan hard enough she flies off the floor flying backwards into the barrel tub landing butt first. Oddly, she touched Mulan's butt to push her into the barrel tub. Mulan was probably thinking "She touched my butt." Referring to the bath lady.

    I don't mean to annoy you or spam anyone's comments but Mulan is a highly recommended Disney movie by me. Hit popularity with lots of Disney fans. I still find the clip funny when the bath lady quickly undressed Mulan during the beginning of the song Honor To Us All. I bet Mulan had conflicted thoughts going through her head being undressed by this short bath lady. She didn't even bother saying something along the lines of "Let's say we get you undressed."

    Just watching this after finally finishing a long DCAU rewatch binge. However, the tie-in comics (Justice League Infinity included), the JL vs. the Fatal Five movie, and maybe some video game cutscenes are still loose ends that need tying up. 10 - Quite a surprise pick there. Still, really good episode, and one with really good sequels in the form of "Double Date" and "Grudge Match". (And maybe even a spiritual successor in the form of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which also gave Black Canary, Wildcat, and Green Arrow justice.) 9 - How is this low? Ah, no matter, at least it's still in the list.Just watching this after finally finishing a long DCAU rewatch binge. Ah, no matter, at least it's still in the list... oh, and it does have originality by having Wonder Woman be the cathartic Black Mercy-throwing victor against Mongul (not the now absent Jason Todd Robin of the comic) and how Superman and his "son" finally met their end (the comic only did a sort of vanishing act). 8 - Am also surprised that this is low... well, I would've disqualified it, since it's that GOOD. Think the idea of disqualifying Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Space Dandy from superlative dubs lists simply because they're that GOOD. (Oh, and I do love the plot twist, I don't mind said twist being just window dressing, and I'm OK with the future Dana Tan-McGinnis' new look.) 7 - This episode fits better if combined with the other three as a formulated movie (think "Starcrossed" and "World's Finest") but overall also works as a fine optimistic counterpoint to the Watchmen comics and Snyder movie. 6 - Heh, episode title still holds true because we never saw the full story of big leaguers, and Elongated Man. Overall, I can see how this ep can easily be another spiritual predecessor for Batman: The Brave and the Bold. 6:45: Meanwhile, I would really like to help out the X-Men '97 guys. They seem to not have a very firm, hindsightful grasp on continuity with X-Men and Spider-Man: The Animated Series... seriously, how the heck is Omega Red outside of that nuclear sub in "A Deal with the Devil" (not to mention being loyal with the non-Soviet Russian government, I guess), and how the kriff did Captain America get out of interdimensional limbo from the "Six Forgotten Warriors" and "Secret Wars" arcs?! Honorary Mentions: 1 - One thing I can say, this ep sure is more respectful to its source materials compared to Batman Beyond's "Heroes", which outright demonizes the Fantastic Four expies. (Can agree on Longshadow, he should have finally got his dues in the Season 2 four-part finale, even if he got martyred.) 2 - Bold choice. Lots of people actually would prefer to forget this ep, simply because it's that grim and possibly wastes the much hyped Shazam. Yes, I prefer that name... doesn't stop the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the MCU Captain Marvel though. Hope X-Men '97 compensates with its universe's (formerly comatose?) take on Carol Danvers. 3 - Yeah, even I agree that Flash-in-Luthor and Tala didn't actually do "it". 5 - They unhesitatingly massacred Static and the future Batman there, my gods... overall, though not as deep as the likes of Groundhog Day, Steins;Gate, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Edge of Tomorrow, the DCAU time travel storylines are always a gem. Sorry, X-Men, but your time travel hijinks are just soooooooo hackneyed and tiresome. (10:59: Can sympathize with the flaws of being a continuity cavalcade though. The likes of Static Shock may be hard to binge, since it does have its hackneyed and tiresome moments.) 4 - Truly a better done, more memorable Suicide Squad story than even the first DCEU movie and even that pseudo-Arkhamverse game. (Even I was surprised by that continuity nod at 12:25, but overall won't call it a flaw. Gotta love such moments that makes one wanna rewatch cavalcades like, hmm, Ojamajo Doremi up to its fourth season Dokkān.) 3 - Again, the dependency of Superman: TAS events for this ep isn't a flaw. Seriously, casuals should be wise enough to watch the DCAU from the order of Batman: TAS > Superman: TAS/The New Batman Adventures > Batman Beyond > Static Shock/Justice League/Gotham Girls > Justice League Unlimited; they should be ashamed for doing skips. 2 - A triumphant episode, this, what with showcasing more of the Flash's heartiness in spite of his weirdness while being an example of being arguably being a better super than Supes and especially Bats. 1 - I am very much surprised it's that high. Regardless, more Zatanna, plus a serenade that has aged very well (though some argue that it aged too well with sadness mixed), is truly welcome.

    • @PlayCONtent
      @PlayCONtent Місяць тому

      I think I like the Shazam episode because of how boldly it shows Superman being OOC, I do wish more was made of his guilt, though- which is one part of why it didn't officially make the list. Eh, i don't really consider the dependence of previous shows to be a huge problem either but...when they're in a list along side episodes that do stand completely alone much more effectively, then those episodes have got some advantage usually; also I feel like it's not really a fair or full review unless I mention SOMETHING negative about these things I love, even if said negative thing barely- or sometimes doesn't at all- actually bother me. Yeah, This Little Piggy just explores so many specific tropes or ideas I love and characters who are otherwise underused with such applomb that I couldn't place it any lower than 1.

    BBC ghost is much better than CBS ghost

    • @PlayCONtent
      @PlayCONtent 2 місяці тому

      Oh yeah, I definitely do prefer BBC Ghosts but was surpirsed at how good some episodes of CBS were- I just wish it was a bit more different. All that really needs to stay the same is the idea that 2 people live in an old mansion- one can see the surrounding ghosts, one can't- it'd still be recognisable as an adaptation. I don't feel like so many of the ghosts need to so directly correspond to the personalities of the original ones, I know some in CBS are original ideas but I wish they all were. To be fair though, it's not actually up to me how shows that I've got no involvement with are written, so I don't know why I'm complaining.

    *(reads description)* Ah, I see you know them too. Oh, well, don't worry, I won't talk about her and those views here either. 0:39: That's some animation! 1:13: This is also the first time we see her actually being a magical girl in the DCAU cartoon canon. However, confirmation of this was actually first seen in The Batman and Robin Adventures tie-in comics' Annual 2. (Isn't Stacie in that From Dusk Till Dawn sequel?) Ah, Jennifer Hale is a legend, ever since she did Felicia Hardy/Black Cat in Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Naomi in Metal Gear Solid. Pity about her Sarah Palmer though. 1:43: Interesting that Hamilton Hill has ended his mayoral terms at this point. Wonder if that has anything to do with Batman Adventures 2003? 1:47: Caped Crusader better take notes. Selina Kyle there better have a soft spot for kids. 3:50: Reminds me of why people bought Homefront: The Revolution just so to get Timesplitters 2 via in-game arcade machine cheat code. Interesting how the disappearing act is because of Mr. Freeze tech. Come to think of it, him being mentioned as still on jail makes one suspect the webseries is set between Gotham Adventures issues 40 and 51... but then that contradicts what I just said about BA 2003! You know, in conclusion, the webseries isn't exactly forgotten, since we can easily look up the stuff in places like World's Finest. Unfortunately, I am however worried for the browser interactibles. The animated releases not having them just hurts it a bit, since you'll miss out on the ENTIRE experience. So, seemingly apocryphal Lobo webseries when?

    • @PlayCONtent
      @PlayCONtent 2 місяці тому

      It's a slight shame she was just a normal magician in her BTAS debut, a huge element of her personality is lost. Oh yeah it's definitely not completely forgotten or I wouldn't have been able to make the video, but I'd say reasonably forgotten, especially since it's connected to the phenomenon that is the DCAU and some incredibly popular characters. I've been thinking about that actually, I did see all of them on UA-cam at one point (The Lobo episodes) not sure they're still there, I'll soon find out

  • @michaelandreipalon359

    Just watching this after finishing up on a Season 3 rewatch binge. Not as perfect as a buncha story arcs for the DCAU and Gargoyles, but still a gem regardless. 0:40: Inferior to the Timm style animations, but who cares, does one really want the show and Spider-Man to be remade that way? Oh, if only Rogue were available in "Sacrifice". Just what mission was she doing so to keep her occupied? 1:59: Speaking of which, is Howard the Duck an actual character in Earth-92131? Interesting how Gladiator in this arc is voiced by a new blood voice actor named Richard Epcar. *Yes, folks, English dub Batou from Ghost in the Shell and Inspector Lunge from Monster.* Also appreciate cameos here by Captain Britain, the -Hellfire- Inner Circle Club (who'll be a thorn on the Dark Phoenix Saga eps... you know, I preferred it when they were called the other name, just like in First Class), and Doctor Strange (who'll reappear in the aforementioned DPS). 2:53: Basically, Corsair is this universe's Star-Lord, in some manner. Also, you should see Cyclops' brother Havok of the X-Factor, first seen in "Cold Comfort". (No, not The New Batman Adventures episode.) 3:47: Isn't it the same as in the comics? 4:07: Nah, just doing a Project CADMUS Amanda Waller when it comes to seeking the reformation of the seemingly disbanded Avengers of Earth-92131. The X-Men and their fellows shall pay for their inhuman nonsense in X-Men '97 Season 1! Well, hope to see the Dark Phoenix arc here too.

    Awesome video, and cheers for the shout out!❤I laughed way too hard at the footage for The Bill by the way! As for your comment on The Devil of Christmas, my interpretation of that was that the police officer (who's only human after all) is being drawn in by someone who's incredibly manipulative and charismatic, much like a cult leader. Those would be interesting qualities for a director to have, as his job is to make people what he wants, even when what he wants is... well, that! Your explanation makes more sense, but I think my brain just wants to flesh out more of Derek Jacobi's character - I was kind of hoping he'd be back playing the same role in How Do You Plead, but I was happy with what they did instead. Looking forward to your take on series 4-6!

      Thanks so much for watching, shipmate! You know, that might be the longest I've ever watch an episode of The Bill- everyone in the UK seems to know what it is but I don't know anyone who's ever actively been into it. That's just as good an explanation, it's easy for me to complain when I'm not in the Policeman's situation- I feel like I'd have been more like 'look, I don't care about the props we're here to talk about a murder' but actually I'd have probably been like 'Ohhhh, that's an interesting prop- oh also I think I've technically got to ask something about a murder'. I did wonder if he was supposed to be the same character in How Do You Plead at first. It might not have been a bad idea, I was adverse to the idea of a clearly shared universe with Death Be Not Proud being a Psychoville crossover (even though I really like Psychoville) just because it felt strange for an anthology show with totally isolated stories/characters suddenly making an episode that's probably more appealing to people who've seen a totally different show- BUT to be fair Devil of Christmas and How Do You Plead are episodes of the same show, so I might've liked that.

    I think there was a weird licensing issue with Marvel and Madhouse where they couldn't use certain characters. Because who TF cares about the U-Men? The one thing I really did like aside from the animation quality and the music is how the X-Men were portrayed. Instead of just being a privately funded mutant strike force, they took on the role of being detectives, social workers, and the mutant equivalent of paranormal investigators. The latter is something the comics need to pick up because it's a very original angle compared to what they're currently doing with X-Men.

      You might well be right- very few villains who people seem to really like make much of an appearance, I suppose Mastermind has his fans and I quite like him myself but I wouldn't say he was that enormously known a character, people who mainly know about x-men through the live-action films might not know him for example

      Thanks so much for watching, shipmate! Yeah Elizabeth Gadge is genuinely one of my favourite episodes of the series overall, one of my friends who watched the show a while ago and can't remember it very well said he didn't like that one...someone suggested that he only thinks he didn't like it because he can't remember the show very well so can't remember that it was good- that's a much more comforting concept to me than the idea he didn't like it, how dare a friend of mine have different taste than me on a subjective piece of media.

I agree, Elizabeth Gadge might be one of my favourites in the entire show

    0:32: Doesn't have an ending, and the show is basically half finished because of it. Automatically a turn off... Greg Weisman's Gargoyles just can't be beat. 0:35: I can at least say that the Editor's Cut is superior. 1:40: Interesting backstory, this JJJ iteration. 1:47: If anyone asks, Kingpin was actually a Spidey villain first, before Daredevil made some changes especially on Frank Miller's side. In short, everyone's a bit wrong when they say that he's a Daredevil archenemy from the very beginning. 1:52: Who then became a key member of the Insidious Six, because Electro wasn't around at the early seasons of the show and the fact that the word "Sinister" seemed to have scared Fox Kids. 1:58: Am basically of the opinion that the Season 1 ep "Kraven the Hunter" happens before this three-parter, because Rhino wasn't mentioned when Spidey fought back an actual rhino there (plus, added foreshadowing value). Oh, yes, that screaming bit. Memorable, but way too melodramatic and not as quite fitting as B: TAS' "Harvey... nooooooooo." 3:01: A Xenomorph, more like. 4:27: That was some fall. If only TMS or Spectrum did animation for this. B: TAS did its dream sequences better. Anyone still remember that dream of Bruce Wayne's where a giant, bleeding gun appeared? 5:12: Didn't mind the CGI. Felt like a retro video game. Will hope to see more of this. Would be very curious to hear about the Insidious Six stuff, the crazy Man-Spider arc of Season 2, the vampire nonsense pertaining to Morbius (and a really good iteration at that, unlike that ugly Morbin' meme), the crossover eps with the likes of the Punisher/Blade/Iron Man/Doctor Strange/Daredevil, the rise and fall of the Goblins and the Osborns, the Black Cat stuff, the Six Forgotten Warriors arc, the Secret Wars arc, the subtly groundbreaking Spider-Verse arc, the heated (and somewhat annoying) tension between Peter, Felicia Hardy, and Mary Jane Watson, and so on.

    It has its moments, but it not having a proper conclusion doesn't make it easily recommended for me, just like Spectacular later on. 1:56: Just why and when did those rumors originate? 2:24: This... reminds me of Poison Ivy in her introduction ep in Batman: The Animated Series, and also Inque's first appearance in Batman Beyond. Those are quite unsettling. In the meantime, we REALLY need Spider-Man: The Animated Series to get a truer, more canonical sequel, even if it takes more cues from Unlimited's far better rival Batman Beyond (oh, and they better make and release it after X-Men '97 wraps up, so to showcase the legacy of that show's events). Can you imagine an older Spidey (maybe in the Earth-92131 year of 2009), wearing the Unlimited suit (which can be customizable to black and red or some other pattern), going on a rescue mission to save the child of John Jameson (yes, another Vreeland situation) from a hostage crisis, only for his powers to go suddenly haywire and make him PUNCH a goon so hard it impales them so bad; think of this as a shocking antithesis to Spidey not being a puncher in TAS, and a neat parallel to Batman suddenly grabbing a gun and pointing at the goon who beat him). Afterwards, Peter Parker becomes so horrified by all this, that he finally throws off his supersuit in the story's take on "Spider-Man No More"... and what follows will be a timeskip to, say, the 2020s, and we then get to meet, hmm, this universe's version of Ben O'Reilly or perhaps a Miles Morales, from which they'll somehow find the suit on landfill, and then said suit, which may be as intelligent as a Kamui in Kill la Kill, suddenly attaches itself almost permanently to their new wearer. *We all know how this should go afterwards.*

      I've got no idea about the rumours, they seemed to have been in firm circulation by the time I was about 12- I don't know if it was only ever said in Britain or whether it was more international...one of my friends said there was a similar rumour in his school about the live-action milkybar kid which I've never heard anyone else ever say. I agree that Spider-Man: TAS needs to continue in the wake of X-Men '97

  • @michaelandreipalon359
    @michaelandreipalon359 3 місяці тому

    This premiere is not of the same level as "On Leather Wings" (Batman: The Animated Series), "The Last Son of Krypton" (Superman: The Animated Series), "Awakening" (Gargoyles), "Secret Origins" (Justice League), or "The Beginning" (Samurai Jack) though... but I digress for now. 0:15: I prefer the 2003 series. Shame the 1987 seems a bit overrated by fans and execs lately... love their video games though. Turtles in Time and Shredder's Revenge are gems. Much as I prefer the sheer deadliness of the Days of Future Past movie Sentinels, I gotta admire their look in this series. 1:15: And seeing her in differ clothes may be rare, I don't know. You know, why does that specific and possibly unnamed city where Jubilee supposedly lives on get a lot of action over the course of the series? I like Morph. Sucks that there's suddenly anti-woke backlash against the guy lately. 2:55: Not unlike Waspinator from Beast Wars: Transformers, I see. Gotta like Beast's capture while it lasted. His first meeting with Magneto, who tried to liberate him, is something to behold. A sidenote: I never understood some of the hate on Jubilee over the course of the show (and why people may prefer Kitty Pryde more). She does have a few scrappy moments, but overall, she reminds me of Maxine Gibson from Batman Beyond. ...Do I hear Sabaton?

    • @PlayCONtent
      @PlayCONtent 3 місяці тому

      Awakening is such a good opening to a show, it's a 5 parter which is quite long for an introduction but they really do establish everything that's essential- Gargoyles is an all time favourite show. I've always actually quite liked Jubilee. The song at the end was by Judas Priest but Sabaton might've covered it, I actually don't know their music that well even though I imagine it's within my taste.

    Well, time to say some thoughts for this: 0:16: You should see the Star Wars Order 66 version of this featuring Obi-Wan. 0:37: I bet somebody in the show's dev team fleshed them out, and is just waiting for fans to want extra trivia from them. 1:37: ...Dead? The movies have spoiled me on how characters like Mystique should be depicted, I'll admit, so the TAS iterations will be quite a strange surprise to modern audiences. Think the lack of General Zod in th DCAU and Teen Titans' Killer Moth actually being a Batman villain originally. Interesting how the POTUS before Robert Kelly is a woman. Just what happened in Earth-92131 so to make their world leaders not be the same as ours? 3:49: And somehow, Magneto is more an ally to the X-Men over the course of the series. Must say, the DCAU did time travel far better. Not that X-Men's is terrible, it's just awkward to lots of folk who aren't fond of time travel as a concept. In short, pertaining to 3:38, I'd rather prefer the Multiversal take on time travel in the first two Terminator films plus the Resistance game, where the dark future is still around, although a universe where Skynet was successfully foiled was also created out of honorable altruism. In the meantime, I'm also still a fan of the Days of Future Past movie, even if it is way grimdark. On a sidenote, at least we got a confirmed list of the proper X-Men: TAS episodes. Even wrote it down in case I fully binge this slowly but surely.

    • @PlayCONtent

      Those characters actually did briefly appear in an X-Men '97 episode too, they weren't named or further characterised but they were very much there

  • @michaelandreipalon359
    @michaelandreipalon359 3 місяці тому

    I'll have to mention some things that could be nitpicky here: • Much as this episode, and thus the rest of the show, is good at moments and all, it does get way too fast and unevenly paced on its voice acting and animation sequences; a huge contrast to one who has fully digested on the DCAU's otherwise controllable pacing moments, and yes, even Static Shock isn't rampant to this issue. • The episode does bug me with Spidey mentioning the Avengers and Defenders. Just wherever the heck are they during all this and the events of X-Men: TAS? Were they all disbanded after some offscreen and unmentioned events that made them suspect or redundant to this universe? (The latter can make sense: imagine if the Avengers dissolved because possible key member Ms. Marvel got Rogue'd in X-Men: TAS. Not sure about the Defenders though.) • Wish we got the origins of Peter Parker's first impressions with the likes of J.J. Jameson, Eddie Brock, Felicia Hardy, and so on, but then again, some can argue that it does keep the show fresh from other adaptations, in very much the same way I appreciate Batman storylines that don't focus too much on the actual Crime Alley tragedy. • Interesting how the Lizard became the Hulk-esque character of the show, especially come the Secret Wars arc of Season 5. Seriously, Earth-92131 didn't showcase Bruce Banner officially at all... hope future seasons of stuff like X-Men '97 may remedy this. 2:49: For this, one should have to stomach a lot. Earth-92131 is no DCAU or Gargoyles-verse when it comes to many senses of realism. Those works feel nicely grounded, while these Marvel shows are wholly based on the comics they're based on, which don't handle things the same way a serialized TV show should. So, PlayCONtent, what do you think is the true plot order of the first season of S-M: TAS?

    • @PlayCONtent
      @PlayCONtent 3 місяці тому

      That's such a good point about the Avengers- I suppose like a lot of shows with vague shared universes, the only explanation is that they're dealing with some other offscreen crisis that isn't mentioned.

    I really need to watch Cats Don't Dance. Anywho... 10 - Back then, I was angry at Daggett getting away with it in the ending. Nowadays, I'm actually just grinning satisfying yet sadistically because he started to fall from decadence at this point up to "Batgirl Returns" and Gotham Adventures issue 51. 9 - Wish the original plan to show off Harvey Bullock's rough father childhood and his football greatness, plus Renee Montoya's past misdeeds as a street delinquent before turning over a new leaf by joining the force, were kept as part of the ep. Also, we needed more Montoya spotlights after this ep, since her partner Bullock gets a bit too much credit later on. (Oh, and Officer Wilkes needed more progressive screentime. He could have ended up extremely important like Touta Matsuda from Death Note, but nooooo.) 8 - Quite a really good introductory ep. Don't have much flaws against it either. 7 - A good thing the weak and uninteresting Hugo Strange here got his dues in The Batman Adventures issues 34-36. Still, The Batman 2004 and Batman: Arkham City did him better. 6 - A very fondly remembered episode, for one who not only adores the overpowered Force Speed ability in the Raven Software video games Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, but also one who is at best left awestruck by the magical girl character Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica and maybe even the ever memetic Stand menace Dio Brando from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Anywho, though, the Clock King returns in Justice League Unlimited. (Oh, and I love a certain Fleischer Superman reference near the end.) I don't think The New Batman Adventures should count as part of B: TAS, but oh well, whatever floats thy boat. 5 - If only this ep didn't need the prior The Batman Adventures Annual 1 - "Demons" comic as its proper context. Anyways, gotta appreciate Young Justice still keeping the villain Klarion as mischievous as this iteration. (Oh, and Etrigan does return again in JL+JLU, and even two Batman Beyond tie-in comics.) 4 - Really hope Gotham Adventures issue 58 didn't completely undo this triumph. In the meanwhile, I really need to catch up on the Goosebumps books. 3 - At this point, all hope in wanting Clayface to be cured is complete blotted out in our minds... sad that this ep becomes harsher in hindsight come Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Still, love how this tragic ep gets a light if taunting nod in the Elseworlds-ish Batman: The Adventures Continue comics. 2 - A shame this hindsightfully mature episode means that The Batman Adventures Annual 1 is mostly non-canon. 1 - - Again, wish this ep didn't depend a lot on context given by The Batman Adventures :The Lost Years comics and Gotham Adventures issue 4. Either way, Catwoman at this point has lost her sympathy points from which she started to lose out on since B: TAS S2E9 - "Catwalk".

      I don't see BTAS and TNBA as the same show either because....they're actively not the same show- different art style, tones and titles....but they're always combined on home media and I just felt like I wouldn't get to 10 overlooked ones from BTAS alone (there are way more than 10 good BTAS episodes but I don't think that many are overlooked because it's p heavily celebrated)
