I Blew THE POWER to the building | HVAC | Reviving 23 year old neglected system

- In today’s video, I go to a commercial space where the temperature inside was reading 84. The customer would reset the breakers and the system would tend to work. The initial inspection of the unit found that the coil was dirty and the head pressure was extremely high. Needed water access, but there was none on the premises so had to run home and pick up my portable M2 sprayer. Once I return to kill power to the unit, the disconnect broke it from the terminal blocks and sparked. Causing the breaker to the building to trip. Have to resetting the breaker I wire none of the disconnect to bypass it. Clean the coil. And got the system running as it should.
Hope y’all enjoyed the video if you could smash that 👍 button and SUBSCRIBE!! Appreciate yall 🫡

Hate it when that happens !!
Dude Ted, ain’t that the truth!!
Can’t wait for the business oriented videos and tool videos.
Appreciate it!! Look forward to it myself!!
We all hate those disconnects. Melt like crazy and then do that. I’m honestly surprised there isn’t a class action lawsuit or something
I think your onto something 🤔 START the petition
@@KoolinwithKrauss I'm an hvac guy I don't know shit 'bout nothin else boss man 🤣
Hate those disconnects! Looking forward to the business videos!
Right? Appreciate it Parker!
Kapow!!! Glad you're OK brother. Keep the videos coming
Stinking 💩 appreciate it Mike thanks man!!
We all hate them type of disconnects Lmao but I usually rocked them back-and-forth until it gets loose then pull it out.
I should definitely start just being easy with them instead of that, good point!
Glad you are ok man. A little lube on the pullout at the initial install goes a long way towards protecting against that type of craziness along with maintenances where you can reapply some lube. You can tell they weren't doing any of that. Really a junky disconnect with junky metals being used. Hopefully they don't get someone killed out here one day. Thanks for the video.
Duuuude solid point, little dielectric or something might go a long way for sure. I may just start doing that on my maintenances from now on 🤔 good advice appreciate you bro!
Man you saved the day hopefully you get the change the disconnected out
Appreciate it bro!! Never got a call back afterwards 😑
Those discos are bad about that. Sometimes you'll pull them out and one of the blades will break and stay in place, leaving one leg hot. That's why you are supposed to check both legs for power after yanking one, but sometimes we get lazy after a long hot day.
Ain’t that the truth!! I’ve fallen victim to that as well! Something similar today, with a bad breaker only getting the 120 to each leg but not 240!
@@KoolinwithKrauss had that one too. You go out and measure across both legs and get nothing, but you forget to check each to ground ⚡
@@topher8634boom nailed it!!
Legend. Keep that smack going with Jared he will never even read a comment 😂
You’re speaking hard truth brother.
I have that sprayer but took the awkward long wand off and just screwed the tip in by itself. It’s much better that way for what we use it for. I still keep the wand in the truck for those hard to reach areas.
Ahhh now that make sense. I use to stir it upright in the old van had plenty of room but this one I have to pick and choose. May just do that, seems a better option dude 🫡
Those disconnects suck ass! A little dielectric grease goes a long way before they get too sticky. Looking forward to business content because the south Florida winters suck for us
Yet again sorry for the late like ! Ran 9 calls and just got home - shoulder season my arce 😂
Do your thang big dawg your lucky!! Ain’t that blessed 😔
Good job & nice vid ... Junk ass disconnects ... Stay safe my friend ... Thx
They really are brother Ed 😅 appreciate ya man!! Thanks for watching
I think I commented last video about those raggidy disconnects ! Always come apart or half stay in and half fall apart ! Hate em
Ya I found the footage of this video didn’t think I had. 🤦♂️ junk ass piece of poo
I had some fun with electricity today as well haha
Oh boy!!! Did you record it?! Or did I miss it 😂
@@KoolinwithKrauss no didn’t get it . If I had known what the problem was i would have haha . Got a nice shock out of it then took a little break . Haha
@@KoolinwithKrauss I always get these units where someone didn’t have a good connection on the electrical or they completely forgot how to put a wire nut on . Haha a lot of em came that way and nobody checked shit . Must’ve flipped the switch and left ehh start up done haha ugggg
@@KoolinwithKrauss you know 50 foot line sets unit pre charged for 15 and no top off . That kinda installs haha ugggg
@@Qualityservicesbcswell dang slim I’m glad your good 🫡 💪
You should stock some on your truck
I got a couple, they just have to want to pay 😂
Id tell them its mandatory
One of the last good units.
True story!! Thing were tanks and easy to work on!! Came across another today
1 I hate those disconnects as well. Junk.
The dang worst ones I swear 😡
I usually take the metal cover off before pulling the disconnect on those because those disconnects sucks b*lls
That’s a solid tip! Will need to just keep that in mind
Do the city parasites not get bent out of shape if there's no working disconnect? Will you go back and fix it, or do they need to get an electrician, or should they call Curtis (he replaces disconnects!)?
A lot of people like tool bag and loadout videos; I'm one of them. Good stuff.
Btw, YOU didn't blow the power, a snatch-ass disconnect blew the power. I hope the customer saw the video so knew not to blame you either.
My man!! Appreciate it, you’re right. So wrote up an estimate to have replaced, haven’t heard back from them since this job, sooo 🤷♂️
I would think if the disconnect fails like that the customer either buys a new disconnect with install for about $165 from me. or I’ll come back and finish the a/c work once their electrician replaces it for I bet a lot more.
I agree 👍 ! Have to get approval first unfortunately and sadly there wasn’t much they wanted to do with the system to help it.
Preciate you man!! Lol BTW how is your HOA Karen going to handle the after party at your place during AHR and do you have a place for my winnebago???
Your a fuggin nut bro 🤣 😂 always room for the bagooo
What was the ampers?should have checked the main
Now that I don’t know didn’t look
I’ve never understood why they don’t put a hose bib on all buildings.i mean they all have water why not just add a tap
Dude right?! I don’t get it, I’m sure there was something was on the other side, only have a 50ft hose 🤦♂️
I suspect water thieves are a thing.
