Some real power and hard work right there people 💪
Planet Fitness specifically has a circled NO sign with Tom Platz’ face
So strong
Don’t think I will be trying this technique 😂
I wonder how many plates that is?
600 lbs
Tom Platz made the gym equipment skip leg day
OVERTRAINING IS FOR CHUMPS
And yet he was very strict on his squats. Different approaches to different exercises, not something you see anymore.
I’m not even sure I could hit one plate 25 times. That’s sick.
DEADLIFT CAUSES WEAR AND TEAR TO THE BACK, NO MUSCLE CONTRACTION, GARBAGE EXERCISE, USELESS
Jesus....so strong.
Open rack no range limiters. Velocity based lower force almost failure, using rest pause...it all makes sense, now why the goat leg adaptation on Tom.
This is the classic bodybuilding deadlift, its perfect for the back. Now, Powerlifters like Ronnie, start in a lower position and uses more legs at the start to lift the heaviest.... Both are deadlifts. The purpose is different, one is to work your back, the other to lift as much weight as you can. Which makes perfect sense. You start at a lower position to involve legs at the starts because legs are way way stronger than your lower back at the starting point plus the hand position is closer to the legs at the start.... (reduces range of motion and avoids biceps and elbows injuries) I love deadlift, its amazing, I am 48 still lifting heavy on deadlift....
HIS TRAINING WAS RETARDED, WHO DOES THAT S$IT
HIS LEGS LOOKED AWESOME BUT HIS UPPERBODY LOOKED LIKE S$IT
Spotter: How many plates should we add for the next set? Tom Platz: Yes
Not deep enough. That is half squat.
Don't let the leaning back fool you, he did not break form.
25 counts 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
good warmup, now it's time for the actual sets.
So 315 for 23 here but he supposedly did 525 for 23 clean reps? If he's not a child in this video I'm calling bullshit.
bro if you watched the whole dvd you would know that this was his last set of squats that day (12th set) so he was fatigued.. you do 12 sets of squats to failure and let's see how much ur strength is gonna drop
@@spawwn01 Exactly.
It's like looking at myself doing squats... >.>
not the pussy pad!!
Showed this vid to my back and it was like nope
Amazing ❤❤
Wierd technique in my eyes. Goes faster down than up, seems almost like he bounces up from the bottom. Thought he preached about the negative part of the reps. Seems like the risk for injury is greater.
My fav bit was when Janet Jackson came on
Always hear about good form but these guys had the shittiest form and we’re still huge 🤷🏻♂️
All no reps. Get out
Thanks for the amazing content
My pleasure!
I don’t necessarily agree with Tom’s squat technique-it doesn’t work for everyone. People have different body proportions, like longer femurs or shorter torsos, so they should squat in a way that feels comfortable for their unique build.
jeez i had no idea people go to full on failure w these!! 😅
how much he could do without roids
What a stomac 🤣🤣
The quad father !!!
He did 500 lbs for 20 reps. This was a warm up for him.
why he is using mixed grip on lifting starps
A set of 25 at 315 with no collars or safeties is diabolical. No wonder his legs were so crazy
Pretty sure those are 100#plates
picture perfect form wtff
Love this guy, I used his Big Beyond Belief (see his shirt) training book back in the 90s. Got me to 205-210 lbs at 10%ish body fat at 5'10". It was awesome. I was stronger than any other time in my life too. He was the quintessential bodybuilder. He didn't have the genetics of some of the other guys, but he grinded until he was big enough to be on that stage. He was always about volume and weight and getting it done.
😊😊😊
Full video?
Damn that's impressive 😮
Work time!
Horrible form, light weight, low reps, long pauses... what an amateur... everybody gotta start somewhere, one day he'll get there.
Closest a human has ever gotten to becoming a squat.
Doesn’t count cuz of the towel on the bar
I miss when all plates were iron. Not this rubber coated BS these days. Metal weights are music
He has legs on top legs ....
Omg!!!!
