Easy Eggless Tiramisu
For those who don’t want to use raw eggs in their Tiramisu, this is a quick and easy dessert.
Ingredients
1 Pot of double cream about 600ml, some tubs weight slightly less, this is fine
250g tub mascarpone
5 tbsp caster sugar
3 heaped tsp of very strong coffee, or if you like it even stronger you can add a couple of tablespoons to 300ml boiling water
1 pack of trifle sponge fingers
Cocoa powder to sprinkle over the tiramisu
Method
1. Give the mascarpone a quick whisk until smooth
2. Add the cream and sugar to the mascarpone, whisk until thickened (be careful not to over mix, it’s better if it’s slightly softer than over mixed and too thick)
3. Dissolve the coffee in the boiling water then dip the sponge fingers one at a time until they’ve soaked up some coffee. Layer the sponges with the cream in a dish
4. Once layered, sieve the cocoa powder over the top of the tiramisu until well covered. You could also use grated chocolate if you prefer.
5. Chill for at least a few hours, I find it’s better left overnight so it sets and the flavour develops, but sometimes it’s hard to wait. 😀
Enjoy x

which type of flour ? plain or self raising ?
@@1246dave Hi, use plain flour.
whisk your egg whites with 1 cup of sugar and a tablespoon vanilla ...bake
Simply perfect
Planning on making this with my bestie tomorrow, thanks for the recipe 😊
Can I make this the night before
What size is the cake you did? Looks like a 10in?
A true English pud
Use custard powder to make it settle. 😊
I am wondering if diplomat cream would work... would be easier to spread.... ? :D
That sounds a really good idea, I’m sure it would be delicious and yes easier to spread as well.
I’m halfway through your recipe’ and I love it but omg lost count how many times I had to rewind it because your to fast 😏please slow down
You know you have a ‘pause button’? ☺️
Uhm... I think your flan is missing an ingredient, like oil? Just saying... all recipes I've EVER made or seen online always required some sort of fat...
Thank you so much for your feedback, yes oil sponges are lovely as well. This is a fat free sponge, basic recipe learned at school and I love it for this type of flan case and it’s also very good for Swiss roles.
NO!!!! It DOES NOT NEED OIL!!! Just All Purpose Flour or Cake flour, Eggs and Sugar!!
I baked for 15 minutes at 180 but mine turned out raw!! 😢 My eggs were room temperature. I don't know what I did wrong, a part from maybe not mix it enough. Would that make it longer to cook?
Made this today and it tasted like crème brûlée in a pastry case, I was expecting it to taste like a shop bought custard tart.
Was it still good?
My custard didn’t set at 130 still liquid after 40 minutes
You can keep cooking it for longer till it starts to set , it will be wobbly when hot good way to test it is to tap the side and it should wobble to the center and not wobble back - another reason it might not set is the size of the eggs
Can u use another term besides grams? Like teaspoons, cups?
King Arthur Flour has a converter on their website
You mean so it can be understood by the only country in the world that uses that completely brainless sytem and to hell with everyone else. Let me guess, you are an American.
This looks amazing! Here in Denmark we make something very similar with heavy cream. I think I'll try this version with the roux and cheese! Tusind tak!
Wow this looks amazing . A very great way to keep traditional food to be cooked . You’re a star . So thankful indeed
Is it necessary to bake the crust first? Can't you just put it in at once?
Hi, it’s better to bake the pastry first otherwise the bottom of the pastry case will be soggy. Thanks.
What is the size of the tart pan? 9 inch? 11 inch? Thank you
Hi, I used an 8 inch tin.
Mine came out brown. Why's not yellow like the thumbnail ?
Hi, maybe your oven temperature was a little too high, some oven temperatures do fluctuate.
Wow that looks soo easy and yummy 😋 thanks for sharing. Definitely going to try. Watching from Cape Town South Africa. 🌹 🌹 🌹
I love eggles cake cuz I'm vegetarian
Some recipes for tiramisu use raw eggs and I don’t like eating raw eggs. This recipe is good for you if you don’t eat eggs either . 👍
Boutiful Frnd

What is the size of the tart pan ?
Hi, I used a 20cm pan.
@@carolinemcooking7721 Thanks.

Hi, yes you can pour the custard into the hot shell.
@@carolinemcooking7721 thank you!
