Enjoyed this video and the attempts to classify them. Watched Timewasters because of this and enjoyed it (minus the roadman stuff in season 1 which while important for the plot, just came off as cringe)

they were serving hands free cartwheels and a backflip here and there, they did pretty well with the luxury free ballet fu, I gotta say...not well enough to want to watch but better than I would've expected for fresh talent. meaning, they really tried. and for some reason I'm surprised (but not, since they have super fan expectations to meet)

low budget live action that's so bad it's almost good is always tempting, I do have respect for that but I also sigh and think who has the time to sit down to watch this, not me

I've never seen enough bits of a live action where the tarento didn't convince me enough that it's more seasoned or skilled than improv/one act play actors in high school theatre....I swear I've seen better acting in high school. Even with high budget live actions from Netflix. anime live action can't not bring forth that awkwardness. even power rangers. wrestling has better actors.

love the facts in the beginning, resemblances/inspiration so uncanny. nobody ever remembers a live action after power rangers/super sentai when it was a fresh concept to adapt. I just never think of live action sailor moon when thinking of sailor moon. it's just a side project to keep people busy, gives talent some temp work and keeps you distracted I guess...time better spent on new projects seeing as how anime/manga is always pressed for time these days. live action is just a cash grab excuse. I don't have time for live action either...some anime are 6 seasons and that's a time commitment, enough. I refuse to see a live variation of the same thing no matter how much I love it. would rather just rewatch it.

Loved the insight! Thanks for making this video. Catwoman is a film packed with flaws but it still happens to be one of my favorites to this day. There's somthing about the gem hiding underneath all the problems with the movie that's super compelling. It's the pervasive oversexualization and lack of characterization of Patience Phillips that really unravelled everything and led the movie to its downfall, I think. From the extreme nature of the suit to the romance plot to the final fight to the need to have Catwoman *act* sexy, the team really seem to have felt this NEED to make Halle Berry super hot as if she already wasn't. Wish they'd have just fleshed Patience out and made the Catwoman film overall as and even more campy than Batman Returns. Give me a film where Catwoman is hilariously intense and over the top in all things while being sexy mostly because of her power, animal fierceness, and movements rather than her still sexy (but now less extreme) outfit being intended to carry everything.

I remember trying to get into PGSM many years ago, and I do get its appeal, it was just not my thi- *Makoto punches Tuxedo Kamen* Ok nevermind, this show is f*cking amazing.

The short-lived animated version of The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley had a similar plot where the evil woman was using makeup as mind control.

The evil cosmetics company is Batman canon. Roman Sionis/Black Mask is a supervillain/mob boss who ran his families cosmetics corporation janis corp into the ground selling poison cosmetics and then disfigured his fiance before killing her. He was first an enemy of Batman. He is the main antagonist in Harley quinn and birds of prey movie and has a queer thing going with the other famous misogynist batman villain victor zsasz. In the catwoman comics Zsasz and Sionis abducted catwoman's friend and killed several women before she was able to beat their ass, if I remember correctly. I think she actually put zsasz in a coma.

Hell yeah! I stumbled on these comics quite by accident and ADORED them!

I mean to be fair, the inherent racism in all these time travel movies/shows and even this concept... is that they never go back in time to non European civilizations and when they do they act those civilizations liked explorers 😂. As someone who loves Doctor Who, they haven't exactly done a stellar job exploring ancient mesopotmia, ancient African cultures or ancient Asian cultures. Then you out into the far future and everything is also all white for... reasons 😂.

Why do videos about time travel/sci-fi themes involving black characters never include Red Dwarf? I get that it's a British show, but so is Doctor who and, to be fair, it was a HUGE milestone in TV in the 80s/90s.

I wonder if Micheal J. Fox ever gets tired of being in time travel movies.

Doctor Who, series 3 starring David Tennant as the Doctor and Freema Agyeman as Martha, his companion is the only example of a black person traveling from the present day to the future that I can think of.

Amazing video, and of the few times I've seen two issues I think about a lot actually be acknowledged. How what's supposed to be fun little coversations like "what time period you'd like to visit?" just don't work for me since being both mexican AND gay really limits me to only the past decade being safe. Nctui Gatwa is a wonderful Doctor Who so far. I think this Isa good time to jump into the show. Some episodes are silly, others are more serious.

I’m sure the current character of Doctor Who will sensibly decide to avoid the pre-civil war American south. Firstly for safety, and secondly because the ‘anti woke’ bunch wouldn’t be able to handle social commentary that affects them.

I just looked up Timewasters and it's not available to stream anywhere legitimately in the UK. Apparently it's on Prime Video but not in the damn country where it was made! Bonkers.

I loved that you went over the black knight because people need to know that racism as we know it didn't always exist. Medieval Europeans knew that other people that looked different existed, but they didn't have pre conceived ideas of what they were like based on their appearance. There are many accounts of people from Asia and Africa writing about their experiences in Europe and having very different experiences, not based on what they looked like, but what their status in society was.

This is an enthralling study I'm so pleased to have found; thought-provoking, entertaining, and well explored. Nicely done. Glad you're better. I too now am looking forward to a black future-travel story. I'm definitely watching Timewasters with family and friends!

Ahh a Catwoman review that isn’t sh*tting on it! I just started the video but I recovered a memory that I have to share, I had a Halle Berry Catwoman barbie as a kid! I still have her, I loved the movie and the doll so much and I played with her until her arms broke off 😂😭 they were held in with such delicate screws, she was a collectors item so I guess she wasn’t built for kids lmao I had her doing all sorts of flips and sh*t 😂😂
