It was probably not what you was looking for, but it is that you can still use the old iSteady 4 pro with Action 4.

Actually if you are travelling to Europe, we use 25Hz for lights so you should consider recording in 25 fps if there will be lights in the footage. Also it all depend where in Europe you plan to go, if it is in the dark north (dark now in winter), I recommend Auto ISO up to 3200 as max, but 1600 will give you better quality but darker footage. Also you could try shutterspeed 1/160 since some think it will give enough stabilization. But I always keep 1/200s to be safe. Thank you for subscribing.

Thank you. Action 4 is just an amazing camera and for now is what I will use as main helmet camera if there will not be a new one soon.

You are lucky then. There are people that have been unlucky at got water in their cameras because of this door.

I am actually in making of a extended video about timelapse for both Action 4 and 5 where I will explain best settings etc. But I can recommend ISO 3200 with Action 4 as max, 10 seconds shutterspeed and 13 seconds interval. But it will be a bit too dark if there is no moonshine.

Jeg svarer deg på norsk og håper det er i orden? Om sommeren generelt så anbefaler jeg Auto ISO 100-800, Auto Shutterspeed 1/200-1/8000s også 60 fps for action eller 30 fps for vlogging. Innendørs anbefaler jeg 25 fps her i norden. Også alltid film i 4K for best kvalitet med 0 sharpness og -2 noise reduction.

You will not have any overheating issues as long as you are outdoors and not just leave it in direct sunlight for a longer period of time.

For me it sound like yours is fine, but don't quote me on that. Also be careful putting it in water and I can recommend to buy DJI care refresh so you will have a "warranty" that will cover it for a small fee. I actually still don't feel safe with mine with the new door on.

Indeed, the Action 5 have way better focus for the whole scenery

If you check the image from 4:3 on Action 5, the aspect is wrong so when I stretch it out it fit the same aspect (trees thickness etc). I plan to make a more detail video about this, but have been waiting for DJI to fix this. If you have both cameras you will see the difference easily.

@@rjfotovideo Sorry for late response, I were out of town filming but I managed to do a test using a coworkers on that job, cameras both set to same resolution and in 4:3. When I zoom and /or stretch with X and Y locked in on Action 5 shot to fill the wide 16:9 frame it is just as with Action 4 with the headroom to play with. Stretching an image without X and Y locked as it seams you are doing is not the same because stretching side vice only stretches tho wideness of the image side vice not touching the top or bottom of the image just as stretching is suppose to do, zoom and /or stretch with X and Y locked does it with the whole image without stretching. Make sure you have X and Y locked

You know another person mentioned about this gift on the forum, and it is actually for the first Osmo Action and not for 3/4/5 that I thought. So I will not be using it. I didn't actually read on the package until later on. But I'm happy for them to send me something at all.

With Action 4 I can recommend 4K, 60 fps, 4:3 aspect ratio for cropping in after in post, Auto ISO up to 800 and shutterspeed 1/200s - 1/8000s

if u care about the bitrate get the action 4, but still the action 5 also a great choice (i got myself the action 5)

Big reason to get Action 5 is if you need better low light and more details in highlights, but Action 4 is the best choice FOR NOW in my opinion. I keep and use both for my main channel.

Different people from DJI says different things, but the problem is that the usb-c door can easily be slided up to let water in.

It is the only way to put the door on or off

Dude, what are you talking about? O-rings are not supposed to be dry, then they will not move into correct position to seal.

@@henr1k5 yes they not to be dry, but moist with silicon, not fat which is on your fingers

I haven't actually seen it sold other than with the diver setup. But if you search for it maybe you find some shops that sell it

I agree. Like I said in the video I have bought care refresh for both my Action 4's and never used it. Also bought it for Action 5 just to be safe. There will probably be some people abusing the system.

Exactly. My Action 5 Pro USB-C door moves a tiny bit, less than 1mm and I am pretty sure it doesn't compromise the waterproof seal.

It is a setting in the camera where you can choose what is should display and I only put it for a light

Action 4 actually. But if you need it to perform good in low light also then Action 5. But for now Action 4 is the one I would choose for the price.

I did use the ordinary RS daily in this, and yes it seems like Action 4 have better stabilization that Action 5, and I wonder why it is so. Action 5 if you have seen some of my earlier videos do have worse stabilization, but it is probably not that easy to see in real life other than on these tests. Thank you for commenting, and please feel free to ask if there is anything.

Rocksteady+ always perform best so I wanted to see if it also did worse than Action 4. I still haven't found any difference between Daily and Sport modes, but Daily is ment for vlogging so maybe it have something to do with how often it will update stabilization or not? After this video there have been 2 firmware updates so things can have changed after I made this one.

I agree with you that there have been som challenges the whole time since release, but I do belive they will manage to fix most of it very soon. People are already getting new usb-c doors, but color mode is still too much for my taste so I fully agree that Action 4 is the best they have pushed out. I only recommend Action 5 if people need the good low light performance since Action 4 is just up there.

@rjfotovideo I believe the action 5 is a lot more energy efficient too? A long lasting battery is always welcome.

I'm really sorry to hear that, hope you have DJI care refresh so you will be protected. But open a case about this since it is a well known problem, and send in your camera and hope you will get a replacement.

4:3 from my tests with Action 4 is not as wide as shooting in 16:9 will be, since it is not full sensor readout. I can't actually tell how wide it is, but I have done the same test last year with Action 4 here: ua-cam.com/video/3psC4RHOMF4/v-deo.html

However, I'm still confused when watching back your video of Action 4's comparison between the 16:9, and 4:3 footage. In my eyes, both seem to capture the exact same width when looking at the corners of the video. I also googled the same question I had earlier about Dji action 4's 4:3 fov. This is what it said. "The DJI Osmo Action 4 has a field of view (FOV) of 155°. In 4:3 mode, you can use the full width and shift the height up and down." Pardon my persistence in my questions, but I need to ask, how confident are you that Action 4’s 4:3 mode truly achieves the maximum 155° FOV? Lastly, this might sound like a silly question, but how reliable is the software for applying the dewarp effect to 4:3 footage, particularly fixing distortion for action-heavy shots in POV or vlogging scenarios?

I already thought that something was not quite right there. I also have the problem that the door comes off easily, but I have not been underwater with it yet. Do all models have this problem?
