Best way to test how the bitrate is affecting quality is to do faster moving video in the woods, a lot of fine information with fast movement is where low bitrate struggles. They increased it, but its still lower than the action 4 which shoots at around 120mbs They need to give users an option like gopro labs, you can manually set your gopro to like 180mbs and it does just fine. You cant call your camera pro without custom bitrate options
High bit rate only matters in scenes with lots of movement. You won’t be able to tell much with the slow shots like that. Static shots will be almost imperceptible as well.
There are some big difference between them, and OA5 do worse job in many scenarios but also better with others. Will have a new video out soon to show more with action.
The image in poorer lighting conditions is better than in GoPro, but I wanted to use this camera for FPV. Unfortunately, there is a Jello effect that does not occur in GoPro. The image is unusable in Action for FPV :/
Can not please all, but Personally I am pleased, thank you I like the OA5P better in ways, and showed it in a great way if asked thanks for showing the FISH
It definitely looks a lot better with a higher bit right now. I’m curious, does the higher bit rate also affect the DLog color mode or is that not affected?
Your Action 4 has some near focusing issues compared to the 5. It's difficult to see any difference in this case. Anyway, i think that a nearly static shot is not the best way to compare different bitrates. You need some fast paced action, some panning, walking and so on.
@@lebowski137 It's hard to say. I noticed a certain amount of temporal denoising on the Action 5, which is good but not always it depends on situations. I still have to test the new firmware, today is raining outside and i already had a shower this morning 😄

@@kentsvensson4685 For normal vlogging unfortunately Pocket3 is better. I bought Action5 Pro for vlogging too, but the problem is it exposes for the face only in Normal mode, which looks terrible (the mode). In HLG and D-LOGM it exposes for whole scene, so not that great for vlogs with a face in the frame. For cars it depends. If it's recording the interior of the car while driving, Pocket 3 is better. Cause gimbal stabilization is better. It's harder to attach especially in slopped windshield cards, but if you manage to attach it it's better. If we are taking about recording moving car from outside (using suction caps) then I'd say Action 5 is better :D. So might be worth buying. I own both of them.
