Forage To Fire
Canada
Приєднався 18 тра 2020
Cooking what we forage with fire in beautiful British Columbia with Shaine, Hoti and a French bulldog named Quincy!
We do a lot of fishing for salmon and trout!
Thanks so much for watching and supporting!
In an effort to preserve/respect the areas and communities where we forage and adventure, we don't disclose the locations. We always encourage you to go out and find your own places to adventure. The great outdoors is full of vast beauty and places yet to be discovered, and with a little bit of effort you'll find lots of rewards! I believe nature is for everyone and no one is stopping you from finding these places, they are out there to be discovered and appreciated! And half the adventure is finding them! So get out there and discover, appreciate and Forage On!

Making Maple Syrup Forage To Fire Style! Part 2!
You should try casting more upstream to drift and jig into there spot not spooking them and cast in a new spot every few times have some variation but what you did it definitely worked
That jigging advice doesn't work in these spots, but you'd only know that if you fished these spots for years like we have,. Knowing the geography, obstructions and water pressure under the surface, informs our successful jigging style in these particular spots. Your jigging tips are effective in most spots but not here. But thanks for watching and sharing. Forage on!
@ yeah nice spot what area is this river just curious looks like a good river
@@holdenclark2894 Yeah it's one of our favourite spots. but we don't post the names of any of the places we fish. Thanks for watching and engaging.
@ yeah I get it I’m the same just was wondering tight lines
@@holdenclark2894 You get it. Tight lines.
What spoons are those? What’s the go to color?
Those are Prime Lures Glory Spoons. Different colors for different systems and conditions, but I'm always a fan of any combination with orange. silver and orange, brass and orange or copper and orange. Silver and blue can be fire too. Classic Coho color.
is thia in bc?
yes it is.
Wow what a great day of fishing. Nice to see Quincy on this trip. What happen to the cooking portion of the video? As of late its been all foraging and no fire😊
Yeah it was an awesome day out. She loved being out. She's been out on a few fishes this season, but the filming didn't work out on a couple of them unfortunately. We had two cooks which were ruined by camera malfunctions unfortunately. And two of the days out, it was way too rainy to cook. It was a super wet season this year. Great for fishing not for cooking. And a couple of the other videos the fishing was too hot to stop and cook. We had the one delicious cook that worked out river side this season.
What kind of gloves are you using? I've been looking for some good fishing gloves!
Sorry I don't remember the brand. I bought them years ago. They've been great and really durable. Look for some that are neoprene so they can get wet when handling fish and still keep your hands warm, like a wet suit.
Bingo Bongo! Nice looking fish indeed!
Ha ha ha! Bingo Bongo! Thanks brother!
Non-Stop+++++
Non stop fun was had.
Quincey! What a beauty fishing day….
We both had a blast!
Wow! There was not one moment is this video when you didn’t have a fish on!!
It was a bonkers day on the river! Spoon for the win!
I m watching fishing shows as unable to fish any more, My legs don t work to well any more, and I sure miss it, Thanks
Well fortunately there's lots of good fishing videos on UA-cam to scratch that itch. I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for watching! I hope this video helped a little.
I would recommend trying to find a handicap hole or something like that. (Not a ton of those but they do exist at least in the states)
It’s been a really good hatch year
It sure has.
What a fantastic day! Talk about lights out fishing. I am glad you enjoyed your day on the river Shane.
It was some serious non stop action. Big time lights out fun! Thanks Corby.
Has been some nice fish in there this year.
Yes there has.
first one you bonked maybe a chum but not a coho
Nice video 👍
Appreciate that. Thanks brother!
Great video guys! It's been a great coho season this year.
Thanks! Agreed!
what spoons and colors you like>? thx for the vid
We like all different kinds of spoons and colors depends on a lot of different factors, always changing. but we generally go with Gibbs and Prime lures. You always have to pack different options and see what's working for the situation. You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Bright fish! How far from the mouth are you, they are hot! Great conditions- overcast with a drizzle. Nicely done!
Our favourite conditions! The Coho drizzle! Thanks!
Beauty fish!
Thanks brother! Great day on the drift! Centerpin for the win!
When was this filmed? I may have been there that day. Know the spot very well. Always wondered how get to the other side without a boat!
Ten days ago. You may have .. Great spot. Feels like you can almost wade to the other side, but nope. Yeah you need a boat.
Can you take us through your setup?
Sure, what do you want to know? The rod and reel I use?
A little bit jealous, haven’t been able to do any shore fishing all year…
Hey brother, sorry to hear that. Yeah it's a special time of year. We've been getting after it.
Holy Smokes!! You guys put a whole new Spin (nining reel) on the meaning having a Ho Down!! Jealous! Awesome Job guys!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Ha ha ha! Nice word play. Thanks! Big time Ho Down. Loads of fun! Appreciate the support! Forage on!
Great fish! Are you using Prime Lures? they look familiar.
Thanks! Great day out! Yes we are. Love them almost as much as the coho do! The Glory Spoon.
The larger B run fish tend to hit large spoons. Best Coho I ever had was those large wild B run 2-3 year old fish. Unfortunately my river system is closed for them now.
The only reason B run fish are bigger is that they are late returning fish that fed In the salt longer so they put on a few more weeks/ months more worth of fat. but most returning silvers on average are 2 year old fish, not just B runs. Jack salmon are less than 2 years old
@renownriverspnw5314 I live in the Puget Sound region and my suspicion is that most of the A-run doesn't venture very far from Puget Sound. The B-run venture farther out in the Pacific. I find it hard to believe that a wild 12lb Coho hen caught in a Puget Sound river only spent 2 years at sea.
Hey interior power bait dude here nice fishing ho tie Not bad Shaine next time put a glob of the new strawberry power bait Cheers you guys
Hey interior power bait dude! Thanks! Ha ha ha! Strawberry, sounds delicious! Cheers!
Dude I haven’t seen your videos in forever!.. Glad to see you’re still slaying the fish🤙🏼 take care
Hey Hookem! You should check out the last 3 vids before this one, you'll like'm. Still at it! Slaying them shiny dimes! Thanks brother, you too!
Beautiful fish guys. Keep up the good work. 👍
Yeah some real dimes! Thanks Kevin! Thanks for watching and commenting brother.
Lol that's the same thing I told myself when I lost a fish it's wild .😁😂🤣👍
Ha ha ha! 100%! It's funny how the ones we lose are always wild!
Bobbers down!
Big time!
Hey Shane good morning
Good morning. Good morning. Good morning Nicholas.
Congrats - first one on the centrepin!
Thanks Aaron! So pumped!
What State ? I'm from Washington but live in az now. Every time I see these videos it makes me want to be up there fishing.
Not a state a province, We are fishing up in BC Canada. Washington has some amazing salmon fishing, I can see why you miss it when you watch these videos. Arizona, nice and sunny., Are you doing any fishing of any kind? Lakes? Bass? Thanks for watching! Hopefully you subscribed so you can still get a dose of home!
@ForageToFire it's just now getting to the point that it has cooled off enough to get out and do some fishing. Going to start catfishing. New to me . There are catfish 70 + pounds here.
@@KevinPaulsen-jt4vz Oh yeah hot hot hot down there .Catfishing, very cool! I like eating catfish, pan seared cajun. Delicious! 70+ pounds oh damn, you're going to need a bigger pan! Have fun! Keep us updated on your fishing. You on instagram? Follow us there, and we'll follow back to see some pics.
On days like these… I’m fishing in the state of Euphoria!!
Is this system in town?
Nope.
Awesome video gentlemen.
Thanks Corby! We appreciate you watching and taking the time to say that!
Your content is great! You'll have a bazillion subs soon.
Thanks Joel! Thanks for your support and compliment! Spread the gospel brother! Forage On!
great footage fella!
Thanks a lot!
Wow!! Those #fish are shimmering and putting on a great show for us all. I’m loving it!! Thanks for sharing guys! #fishingadventures
Beautiful fish! Thanks! You're welcome! Forage on!
YASSSSS!!! I love these annual #fishingtrips with Captain Morgan, you guys always have such epic adventures and this is no less epic! #fishingadventures
We look forward to this trip every summer!
Wherever this river is with all these gorgeous fish must be what heaven is like, just amazing! The view, and the sport, you just can’t get better ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Right on, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and supporting!
There are SOOOO many great beaches to fish in Puget Sound and all along the Oregon Coast. Learning where to fish near the mouths of fresh water rivers helps to locate returning 'spawning' fish. Talking to the local fishermen will help to understand what lures work in that fishery. Yes, I have used Buzz Bombs for a long time with great success! Some clean and some with hoochie skirts. But do your own homework folks!! Don't just ask someone what works where and skip to the head of the line!
Big Heinen gets it. Well said. Thanks for watching and supporting. Forage on!
Is that a Penn reel? What model??
No it's the Daiwa BALLISTIC LT 4000D. My favourite reel. Thanks for watching!
Nice! It's been a good year for coho.
Thanks! yes it definitely has been so far!
The river was too muddy for me to fish today but i like to get them on soft beads under a float. I got a nice buck drifting this year but i prefer to float beads. I like your video!
Yeah it's chocolate milk out there. Nice, good for you. Yeah we like to drift beads too depending on the system and water conditions. It's always good to have different tools for the job. Thanks! We are glad you liked it! Forage on Brian!
Reminds me of fishing the Cowichan valley back in the 80s, northern coho up to 20lbs average coho probably 10 lbs
Those fishing rods would be way to small
Right on, beautiful part of the island. My biggest hatch Ive pulled was 13lbs but I've caught bigger wilds upwards of 18. Those northerns are a beautiful fish. thanks for watching!
@@shaunkirby273 No my Gloomis handles 20lb springs and chums no problem. The high end rods can handle more these days, and it's way better of a fight than on a huge beefy rod. Plus how you play the fish is a huge factor.
New subscriber from BC :)
Great! Glad to have you Rich! Thanks for the sub!
Are them good eatin?
They sure are.
Will you please invite me to go fishing I love fishing for salmon
Ha ha ha! Nice! We love it too! Thanks for the support Nicholas!
Cmon share it with hotai... joking. I have fished this river many times. The cohos in this river feel stronger than other ivers, or may be it's how fast and strong this river is.
Ha Ha Ha! He wouldn't stop fishing! And I couldn't stop eating! It's definitely both. This northern coho strain is bigger and stronger. Beautiful fish. And that water pushes. Check out our new video we dropped last night! Thanks for watching and supporting!
@@ForageToFire yes I watched the latest video, good to see so many wild fish. Something you both can improve is fish handling, not saying you are doing anything wrong. May be keep them in the water all the time and you need a bigger net.
@@umakantpadhy3685 Nice. Yeah that system is staked with wilds, great to see. Yeah we are definitely aware of that and we can always do better. Thanks for watching!
awesome video,if you dont mind what rod were you using? love the action
Thanks! Appreciate that! Don't mind, which rod you curious about, my black one or Hoti's copper coloured rod?
@@ForageToFire your black one
@@namestybtw4086 Black Beauty! The action is amazing on this bad boy. My rod is the G Loomis GL3 8'6" Medium Fast Action 8 -12 lb .Loomis gives you that strength and rod sensitivity ,the play on that rod is amazing. And my reel is the Daiwa BALLISTIC LT 4000D. Strong, light weight and smooth like butter. My favourite rod and reel I've used. Love them both!
@@ForageToFire thank you! i appreciate it
@@namestybtw4086 You're welcome!
