There are SOOOO many great beaches to fish in Puget Sound and all along the Oregon Coast. Learning where to fish near the mouths of fresh water rivers helps to locate returning 'spawning' fish. Talking to the local fishermen will help to understand what lures work in that fishery. Yes, I have used Buzz Bombs for a long time with great success! Some clean and some with hoochie skirts. But do your own homework folks!! Don't just ask someone what works where and skip to the head of the line!
Im pretty sure I went there last summer (no names 😉), the mountains look really familiar. Didn't catch anything off the beach that day but we caught some ground and rockfish from the boat. saw huge 15-20lb coho jumping in front of us there but ill have to slay a northern next time!.
Yeah they were a couple of beauties off the beach. Tons of fun! Not too long of a hike. The net in this video is Hoti's old one. The net we use now is the Lucky Strike tangle free rubber net. It's easy on the fish and your lures don't get tangled up in it. They sell it at Canadian Tire for $80 bucks. I tapped up the metal handle with hockey tape, so we aren't holding cold metal. Yeah a net is a must when we fish. We are always surprised to see the amount of anglers that don't use one. We've seen countless fish lost at peoples feet because a lack of net. It's an integral part of our gear. Thanks for watching brother! good luck out there on the water. Forage on!
After nine months missing in action thought we'd at least get an update on what's been going on and a delicious coho cookfest, but no such luck and kinda feelin robbed! lol. Not really, but that was one helluva coho and welcome back, friends! Now where's dinner??! ; - )
