I am someone with flatfoot condition. And even though this isn’t the same issue as mine, bless your hands and skills for this. ❤️ I know what it’s like to feel foot pain, and I’m sure your patients are so thankful.
Y'all in Shreveport?
I am beyond furious. I had bunion and toe surgery done which wasn’t a success, because the surgeon messed up. He repeated the operation, it’s still not correct. When he took the cast off the first time, he never showed or told me to do strapping. He just took it off. I asked him if I needed toe separators or physio, he said it wasn’t necessary. Now I have to go to another surgeon and ask him to fix my two toes that are facing down, making it painful to walk!!!
What athlete shoe do you recommend. Should I use compression sock and a brace for stability.?
DISASTER! DO NOT GET THE FAILED CARTIVA JOINT IMPLANT! THE TESTS WERE ALL IN HOUSE FOR FDA APPROVAL. FAILURE RATE AS HIGH AS 79 %!?!? CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PENDING! I KNOW! HIGH RATE OF INFECTION.
Thank so much really helpful video
Will you stop by my house every morning on your way to work to tape my toes? Please and thank you. Great video
Can full thickness torn ankle ligaments heal on their own?
The blissful pleasure of release taping like this has brought me is incredible. Thank you so much
What kind of tape ?
It looks like Doc tore off 1 inch wide paper tape.1:12 In USA I buy the tape at $ Tree & 99cents stores.
Would this also help with the second turned toe turned towards the other smaller toes? Also if you were born with this?
Sir I had fractured my tibia and doctors have implanted a plate through surgery and after 4 weeks they removed my cast and given an ankle immobilizer Age 19 so sir I want to confirm that is it ok to remove the cast after 4 weeks
This is nuts. Broke my ankle Jan 22... I was completely NWB for 8 weeks, and then at my Pre-surgery appointment, the day before surgery, after my xrays, My OS explained that "the fracture is healing (NOT HEALED) as it should on its own and surgery will be out on hold until I do one more xray standing up. So now he beautiful gins to examine my foot. Then while his palm was on the bottom of my foot, asked me to flex my foot upwards, basically move my toes towards my body. I couldn't do it. RIGHT AFTER, he said take the boot off, get rid of the crutches and start walking. 😮 I looked at him like he was crazy. I asked "right now? Because I'm not confident in doing that!" he said ok when you get home, since I see you don't hav an extra shoe to wear.... WHAAAAATTTTT! Why was I given a walking boot if I was never going to walk in it? I thought at some point the boot would be ease me into weight bearing to walk in👀 Can someone answer that? Was it just to charge my insurance? My calf muscle is completely gone! So here at 4wks since then (week 12 since fracture), I've been walkin in the boot. I'm down to one crutch in my home. Without the boot, my mind doesn't allow my left foot to move. Also the weight of the boot is necessary since muscle atrophy in my left calf. I get pins and needles when trying to walk on the bare floor. I can only take small steps and then bang on my good right leg which is now bad due to supporting all my weight for the past 3 months. Does the orthopedic surgeon have to sign off on me getting physiotherapy?
Oh your scaring me I’ve been 6 weeks NWB 6weeks PWB. I’m having a check up soon and if they say straight to walking no boot I’ll cry!
Are you fully recovered now?
@@ItsChel how did it go? Are you back running around?
@@jmpinmoonlite nope! I still use a crutch to get around. Found out a few weeks ago my pain that I thought was possibly nerve damage is actually a fracture on the inside of my foot. My initial fracture was on the outside of my foot which has healed. My OS put in a preauthorization for me to get an MRI and my insurance denied it. They sent me the paperwork and now I'm appealing their decision. I just want to be able to run and stand on my tippy toes again. Play soccer and basketball and I can't do none of it. It's made my major depression worse as well as the right side of my body hurts all the time (my knee and back) from supporting my weight while walking. I hate this 😢... 1 year and 3 months later and still dealing with this pain is something I'd never wish on anyone. Not even my nemesis
I’ve basically had the same sort of issue. I broke my ankle 8 nearly 9 weeks ago. Non weight bearing for 6 weeks. I go to see the consultant and he looks at my ankle without a boot and says right in 4 weeks time we want you walking without a boot! Here’s a piece of paper with 3 exercises in rotating and moving the ankle. See you in 6 weeks! It’s been 2 weeks and I can’t see me walking without the boot in 2 more weeks! My sick note for work ends in 2 weeks too and I’m a cleaner 😂 madness! I’m in the UK
How long will it take to cure hammer toe using this method? How long to you leave the tape applied. One hour, four hours, over night? Just curious. Thank you.
This is only a temporary remedy. The only way to permanently cure a hammer toe, is through surgery.
Hi Stevevet3652: Depending on the particulars of a person and the hammertoe that they have, perhaps exercises can be done to relieve the hammertoe. Your best path is to become the patient of a podiatrist who would guide you through everything that is involved to non-surgically correct a hammertoe. There are videos on UA-cam covering the different steps in this process. You can begin by watching the video entitled, "How to treat hammertoes without surgery', by Benjamin Marble, DPM. I wish you the very best in your quest to swiftly boot that hammertoe out of your life! 🙂

How long is this taping necessary?
Thank you for this information. I need this procedure, the pain is unbearable now . I'm 36 yro guy, never thought I'd have arthritis at this age haha
At 5 weeks I just took it off. The pain the boot caused me wasn't worth it, gonna do it my own way
How'd it go? Are you athletic? I want to get back to running
@@davidlibera3488 I carefully rehabbed my ankle myself and never used the boot , now I'm back to running again
@@ztalman nice bro , what did you break? Before not wearing the boot?
@@hdd1497 the tibia and fibula with a slight dislocation
Hey I’m 6 weeks in non weight bearing fracture ankle fibula , self healed after ER with splint for 7 days using a knee scooter, then I ordered the Air Orthopedic Boot, it was to painful to wear, so I took the air insert out, wrapped my foot/leg and keep the pressure on it as a splint like device. Now I just put on an Ace Stabilizer ankle lace brace and put on a pair of my old wide easy spirit leather lace up boots to try and get the courage to walk again. Yet I cant get my mind to tell my brain to make the required walking motion with that let. I assume Im afraid to make a step, can you give me any suggestions to take my first step without fear, Im trying but something wont tell my leg/ foot to take a step.
After ankle surgery I was non-weight bearing for ten weeks (due to some unforseen circumstances) When I went to him, he took me out of the boot, and said in essence "pick up your bed and walk." The pain when I try walking is severe, but when I went back four weeks later I got a lecture on no longer using my crutches. Is there a "cut off" period for using crutches? I am 63 and have osteoperosis as well, and I cannot walk well enough to go shopping.
Bearing weight will actually reduce pain over time because tour pushing the bones back in place trust me it hurts a lot at first but after a couple of days it feels so much better I almost lost all my regular pain and only had pain related to walking too much
I just had this done yesterday. This is day 2 and the pain is intense. No pain medication offers relief. I am surprised how intense the pain is. My fingers crossed and loud prayers for relief to come sooner than later. I'm excited to get motion back, I was told it could take a year to feel good. No pain no gain I guess
Did it get better? How is your recovery?
Hey, how are you? Do you feel better? I'm 2 months from this surgery and yes, it hurts a lot. I already have pain (not so much, of course) but I can't walk normally
I’d love to know what the recovery process was like if you don’t mind sharing!
@@inesgs8937and what about you? How’s your recovery going? I have a surgery coming up in a couple of months
@@triceMMJr Hi triceMMJr. I’m much better now than in summer. I’ve been wearing heels since November. But it still hurts so I’m still limping a little. The recovery process is painful and very slow, at least in my case. And that is something I wasn’t told.

My Mom was right!!!! I should not have watched this. 🤦♀️ How painful was recovery ? How long was recovery.....
I just got this done yesterday (Nov 2, 2021) pain is intense, worse than anything I have experienced. I can't sleep, eat, or focus due to the pain. But I was told that the first few days are the roughest. Nothing helps to ease. I look forward to the intended outcome. I don't have regrets.
Can you report on the patient's progress post-surgery? I am a 60+ yr old male athlete w/ advanced arthritis in my right great toe. What is the recovery time post-surgery for an athlete to resume training?
Had problem with using tape. It took the skin off the bottom of my foot. You need to change it frequently. I was using paper tape, unsure if that was the problem.
I had foot surgery 2 weeks ago and accidentally wet my dressings. What looked simple and easy to do in the doctor’s office was not when I had to do it myself lol. Thank you easy to follow instruction.
Mine is facing downward and causing a callus and numbness under my toes if I go barefoot
Shouldn't go barefoot with a hammer toe or any issues with feet.
Thank you.
What kind of tape do you recommend? The tape I have is too sticky and adheres before i can even correctly place it.
Electrical tape don't warp it to tight
Duct tape
Looks like silk tape to me. Most used tape in surgical field for positioning.
How long does big toe stiffness last? It’s been 5months now and I can’t plantar/dorsiflex my toe. Worried that it might be like this forever
Mine lasted a while.....over six months but you have to be sure to exercise toe moving it up and down with your hand.
Will he ever make more videos? I wish he would show what do when the third toe is a claw, so now two adjacent toes need taping.
Great video
Good job showing the surgery. Very clear, concise video. Excellent resource.
