    • @saabross3171

      The middle is the fan speed, which if it's not working it's likely the fan speed resistor or the blower motor itself. Both are under the plastic hood cowling, and then under the Cabin Air Filter. You have to remove the windshield wipers to access but overall not a difficult fix

    FWIW, though I have a 2001 95 SE Wagon, it's sport mode wires are soldered. The door sticker says it was mfg'd in 11/00, so definitely an early production 2001. Glad to see both methods, and I will be using the short-cut! Wouldn't you know, just as I'm ready to sell the car, the Jalousie breaks. Also, your car does not have a lower cover on it that protects the engine from rocks (or you removed it before you started the video). This has to be removed in order to see what's going on underneath the car. Might be nice to mention that as well.

I swapped the orange seal by slowly hammering. Put everything back but after test drive I think the oring is leaking. I thought it was so tight that the o ring must be ok...but slight leak still. Give Charlotte a raise 😅. My issue is the bushing at the stanchion arm where the 16mm bolt is. It’s really bad. Can I just replace these bushings alone if I remove the bolt and swing the arm to the side? Then use like a c-clamp or press or jack? 🤔

    • @saabross3171
      @saabross3171 Рік тому

      Hahaha best comment I've gotten, as I should. She's helped with many more bolts since 😉 You could press out the bushing with a press, but that's alot of effort when it's easy & affordable to just replace the arm that comes with a new bushing. Powerflex makes new standalone bushings, if you do decide to go the press route.

    Yo bud, have you ever done this job on a 9-5? I have a 2000 9-5 Aero and need to this job. The vid I saw from Saabautosy show them removing the top engine mount bracket? 🤔. Makes no sense to me why they did this?

    • @saabross3171
      @saabross3171 Рік тому

      Removing the bracket just helps to see the belt area. Yep I have 2 y2k 9-5 Aeros and have done it to both, but I should note I deleted the idler pulley on both per Saab's TSB. If your's still has the belt looped on the idler, you'll def want to remove the top bracket to get to it. Otherwise process is the same as in the video, but for my 9-5s I don't remove the top bracket and instead just pull the belt off the crank pully only, move that one loop out of the way and slowly release the tension. Helps to have a second person hold the tensioner (same 1/2in drive breaker bar) up top while you undo the crank pully loop underneath, but can also be done by yourself. If you do it right the belt will stay sitting on the rest of the pulleys, so all you have to do is slip the crank loop back on when finished and you're good.

    Those clips are in the top 10 of the most frustrating experiences of my life, and I'm a computer programmer! Even more so since it was cold outside and it's impossible to get the clips off while wearing thick gloves. When I finally got one clip undone, I figured with that experience the other one would be easy, but it was even worse! I think the more angry I got, the more it resisted. In the end, I had calm myself and ... Use The Force. But I'm certain it will be just as difficult next time because I still don't know exactly how I did it. • @rovhalgrencparselstedt8343

    I have a different problem in my Saab 9-5, and that is that there are no front door speakers, even looks like theres never been any either. A previous owner installed some aftermarket wiring for speakers that was kindof the gauge you find on a tweeter, but i can only assume they gave up when they couldent figure out how to get the door cards off, they did pop off the grilles though and made a mess of the wiring to the headunit which i fixed yesterday. Not only that, but it seems they messed with the dash speakers wiring too, which im yet to troubleshoot.
