An Epic Scottish Castle - Fionn Leitir Castle

- Hey guys, today our wee adventures finds us in an epic castle in the North East of Scotland. Findlater or Fionn leitir castle is such an incredible structure which sits upon a Quartz cliff! The site was first recorded to have a fortress in the 1200s but there are Pictish sites in every direction so It is possible that there might have been a fort here prior to the 13th century. The castle ruins have connections with the mighty Sinclair's, Ogilvie's and the Gordons!
This castle is in an incredible spot and what a site it truly is! I hope you enjoy the video and can't reccommend it enough if you're in the area!

@@ArranOfAlba I wonder if most Scottish men and women were very short back then. I'm considered tall at 5'10", and many I've seen at the Highland games I've been to were shorter than me. On my father's side the men were short, even the Robertson's and Cameron's. On my Mother's side the Harrelson's of Argyle and Taylor's were tall (5' 9" up to 6' 2") so, it's your guess. But most castle's were built it seems, for shorter people.
