It sucks that you are on your 3rd knife, and it will not center. I would return it and try a new color. I bought the blue colored one. I have had no issues with mine. I find the knife to be way too thin in my hand. As for the grind on my tanto, mine is done evenly and looks good. Im more of a collector and haven't used mine much. I have cut paper with it, and l touched up the 20dps edge. Now, it is a razor blade. M4 is one of my favorite steels, and there is something about the color combo that made me buy it.

I got mine about 3 months ago and I haven't had any of the problems you have... I think you just got a 🍋 It's too bad they didn't respond to your warranty repair requests though. All they had to do was send you a couple of screws and a retaining ball. Not a very big ask and very disappointing lack of response from them!

I don’t have a lot of experience with SOG knives either, and I don’t plan on changing that. I think I have three more affordable models but have not used them much yet. I don’t have any with the Gold coating though but based on what I’ve seen and read, they have always had this problem and still offer this knife for sale. Would be nice to hear if anyone has had a good experience with their gold coated knife.
