I just have two Alocasias. They are the more common ones, a Silver Dragon and a Stingray. They are both small, but have given me new leaves this Spring. Especially the Silver Dragon. She has given me six new leaves.
I JUST picked 2 Epi Pinnatum albos myself! 1/2 of them are variegated hoping for more! I do the cup method for my moss poles, works sooo much easier than the bottle method, and I add systemic granulated under the water cup to keep gnats at bay in the moss. I’m def taking a piece of my Epi Albo and giving it a pole I just put my white wizard on a moss pole lol I don’t need any of the others I adore the white variegation Love my regular Sinuata too, but when she grows anything, it’s usually an inflo lol but there must be corns in my leca cause I got babies coming! Finally SOMETHING! Lol
Yeah I’m a dum dum and got the white wizard AND the white knight and they’re literally the same but I like the burgundy stem on the knight better 🫣 I still dk what imma do there with the pole situation. Corms are so exciting!!! At least you’ll get some babies if you can’t have new leaves 😆
I’ve actually heard that the globulosa/villosa are the same, villosa being the old name and globulosa being the new name. It’s a little confusing though when I google it lol
It depends! Normally I leave it in place initially and then carefully remove what’s left during the NEXT repot because I don’t want to stress them out too much after going through the mail. Sometimes I will go ahead and remove them when I first pot them up but ONLY IF the roots are very well established and it’s falling apart VERY easily almost on its own.
I have been wanting a scalprum! It would be my 2nd alocasia after my cuprea. So far so good. Fingers crossed!
I got the cuprea and scalprum as starter plugs and they’ve both done great!
