Nice beat brother. New sub 👍
Thank you so much!
I use the old Rekordbox mobile app for more than 8 years now. With te old mobile app this was already possible and super easy. I use a usb port from one of my CDJ’s and use my iPhone as a usb stick / device. I used it with my previous setups (CDJ 2000, 2000 Nexus and nowadays with my Nexus 2 decks). But I also use it sometimes with an RX 2 and RX 3 and plug it in the normal usb port (usb 1 or usb 2). For me it works ideal. I buy my music in Apple Music, run it thru Rekordox and with the Syncmaster in Rekordbox transfer it to my iPhone. When I have a gig I plug my iPhone in like you would use a normal usb stick, open (the old) Rekordbox app and it click on ‘OK’ and it works. I don’t know how it works with the new mobile Rekordbox app (not tried it yet) but by looking at this video it also seems to work quite well. Looks similar like the old mobile app but you have to pay for the new app and it looks a bit more fancier… The past (8) years most of the time people reacted surprised when I put my iPhone with a cable in a CDJ setup instead of a usb-stick. 😃
You have a very nice channel, videos and info are nice, deserves more views!
Thank you so much! I hope you come back for more. If there are any topics you're interested in the future, please let me know!
@@MusicGearMondays Well i gor fully into DJing and had a chaotic library, so did a total restart, this vide was useful info, mainly the ''Crate Ideas'' havent seen a video about different crate ideas yet . Personally Im looking for a way to categorise different rhythms / grooves in house / techno music. Id like to learn what is the name of these patterns or way of looking at it , so i can name and organise tracks by grooves or drumpatterns. Quite specific haha You seem to have the knowledge though
When I set the first bar for a song rekordbox automatically converts it back after 1 minute like it was when analysed before and I don’t know why that’s happening
Are there multiple versions of the file in your library? I would scan through and see where the original file is, try to delete it, re-import it to Rekordbox, and then try analyzing it. You can also look at the beat range and see if it can be analyzed in a broader range. I hope that helps you.
Thanks for your video. Do you have by any chance an extra Ableton live lite key so that I can use it? Thanks
awesome bro.i will try it and i will video it and let you know how it goes. cheers
Definitely keep me posted I’ve been seeing people use this app but also been hearing allot of connectivity issues and no support from Pioneer yet so hopefully we see something big this year with NAMM coming up.
Why does he keep calling them cdjs?
Haha right!?
New update available
Thanks for the heads up. I am getting updated today!
Hi on the deck i dont have active under vinyl ..?
I'm sorry. I want to help, but I don't understand the question.
Thanks for the info fam, Funny enough I am selling the same JBLS just because Im looking for something smaller that I can use on my desk and the room calibration is a great addition. How do you feel about the frequency response of the MTMs compared to the JBLS. I work a lot in urban genres including hiphop, Trap, reggaeton and fear that I might miss lowend but the convenience of having them on my desk, room calibration and freeing up space makes me want to get them. My room is small as well so the lows go crazy when I use the JBLS so it might be beneficial. Thanks in advance
Surprisingly, the range of these is really good for small monitors. I highly recommend these for desktop reference monitors. There are also the Genelec 8010, which is a little pricey, and then something like the Neuman KH series that are smaller amzn.to/3Zrmwpo , but I feel like these are a pretty good value for the price.
Thanks man.
You're welcome! I hope the video was helpful for you.
I have a question: when you do adjust your grid on rekordbox, and then you export your tracklist onto your usb and then start playing on cdjs/rx3, these beatgrid adjustments are meant to appear/ be reflected in the tracks when you load them, correct? What I find is that I spend hours adjusting my beat grid, and then suddenly I'm behind the decks, and those adjustments don't appear and I'm having a panic attack. please help <3
That's an interesting point. The adjustments and changes you made in Rekordbox should affect the updated playlists you import to your USB stick. Have you tried using a fresh USB stick? Also, check your stick and software for duplicates. It may be that you are loading a duplicate track that hasn't been updated with that metadata. Other than that, you may want to contact Rekordbox CS to see what other options there might be.
I’ve plugged my ssd card in an xdj about a year ago and it froze the xdj and I think is the reason why my files are now corrupt on my ssd card.
Thats a bummer! Hopefully, you had a backup of your music somewhere. It always sucks to lose a drive.
If I manually adjust the beatgrid/hot cues on a CDJ will those adjustments get permanently saved once I sync my device?
Yes, here's a video where @DexxterClarkMusic breaks it down pretty nicely, and this still remains the case. ua-cam.com/video/4biUP689Bpc/v-deo.htmlsi=PPNtkDnQS2dvHXtL
Thank you sooo much for this video. It was so easy and I now have all the music on my stick ready to go. Veryyyyy happy!!
No problem! Thanks for watching; I'm glad I could help. If you have any questions or need assistance with Rekordbox or CDJs, feel free to reach out to me, @CRLCRRLL, on all social media platforms. You can send me a DM anytime. Cheers!
I cannot connect to my iPad
Yeah I had trouble to a few times it take connecting and disconnecting a couple times for it to work. Also firmware need to to be on latest and WiFi needs to be off for some reason for it to work. Keep me posted let me know if you get it.
@ thank you so much for the reply. I deleted it I can’t get it to work. I am trying djay now to see if it works
No problem! It’s a bummer that they haven't updated it to make it more user-friendly yet. In the meantime, if you're using the DeeJay app and want to sync your DJ library across platforms, check out LexiconDJ. It's a solid option for syncing your playlists and more.
Love the move. Congratulations
Thank you! 🙏🏽 I appreciate your viewership. I'm really enjoying this experience so far; we'll see what inspiration it brings. I don’t believe it will be a permanent instrument, but it will certainly help spark ideas for a few projects.
Too bad this doesn't also work in performance mode. Also too bad that the Beat Grid buttons can't be assigned via MIDI controls.
I agree that they should fix that. It would probably take some effort for them to develop a parameter that allows for MIDI mapping with any of their controllers or CDJs. However, you would think it could be done using control mode on the CDJs naturally. I suppose only time will tell. Thanks for watching, my friend! I hope to see you in the next one!
@@MusicGearMondays For Rekordbox, one can map keyboard keys to the Beatgrid controls, so I was going to create a custom keyboard and use JoyToKey to assist with mapping keys to the beatgrid controls. However, I have since migrated to Virtual DJ, and will probably never use Rekordbox again since VDJ is so perfect in every way, including the ability to play video, to use any skin, any controller, and customize controls with MIDI and keyboard shortcuts. VDJ's price is right for a lifetime one time purchase... VDJ can also use any flavor of scratch vinyl, and I can mix and match controller hardware to suit my preferences like the CDJ-RX3 and a Traktor Kontrol F1 for firing off samples or controlling STEMS separations. +Phase virtual needle and Reloop turntable support. VDJ is amazing... also VDJ's beatgrid analysis , variable BPM and flexible beatgrids are way better than RB IMO.
That’s awesome! I’m glad you found your go-to software that works. It really comes down to efficiency and what we enjoy. You’ll have to keep us updated on your journey, my friend!
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for watching! I'm glad this episode helped you. I hope to see you in the next one!
Big thanks brotha, worked perfectly and already testing it out. Thanks for being thorough
Thank you for watching! I'm glad this episode was helpful to you, and I hope to see you in the next one.
GET TO THE DAMN POINT!
Hahaha, dually noted, my friend! Thanks for the input :)
I don't think the system froze because of the ipad or the rekordbox app. One time I use rekordbox with macbook pro on xdj xz, and the dj after me came and plug his usb stick, then the system froze. Even when we turn the xdj power off, it won't turn off. We have to unplugged the cable from the power outlet, then restart the xdj.
Can you use streaming services when using mobile?
Sounds like GHOST TOWN DJS MY BOO
Does it also transfer all of your hot cues?
Is your computer connected to your rx-3? When following your instruction the midi button in Recordbox is not working. I am not connected to my RX3
Merci super Tuto
Hello, can I use also the Akai Force as a live mixer for live streaming to play samples? If yes. HOW ?? PLEASE EXPLANE IT ✌🏻😃
Isn't this old info now? Cant you just sync via Ableton Link? Since Rekord Box 6.
So you have to have your computer connected to use the stems? There's no way to separate stems using a USB??
Yes, your computer needs to be connected to use STEMS. The RX3 does not currently support STEM stand-alone. Hopefully, a future model or firmware update will support stand-alone STEMS.
Rekordbox says there´s no analysis data for the track separation function. I tried to reanalyze the track but still it never works. What am I doing wrong? Also how can I assign some sounds or samples that I have sepparately in my libraries upon the pads? For example, I want to add some police beeps or female voice upon the pads
To add sounds to your sampler, click on the sampler panel in the top-left corner and add each sample to the respective panel. If your track is not analyzing correctly, right-click on it and select "show in finder" to ensure the track is present and formatted in MP3, WAV, or other compatible file formats. Additionally, make sure that the analysis lock is not enabled for the track. Lastly, re-analyze the track and select your desired options via the analysis menu.
this is 2024. I want the mk2 one but it is sold out everywhere and even double the price now. the Akai discontinued mk2. I wish they gonna release the mk3 soon
Yeah I feel the same it was a great piece of gear sad that they decided to end it people used it for visuals as well. I hope you find one your looking for keep searching one may pop up for a deal.
Amazon Germany selling brand new ones right now
@@bassbassbasser@bassbassbasser I saw that also on B&H for $400. Someone must have found some stock somewhere.
Thank you great explanation and i love the look and feel of the OPUS this was super helpful..
Thank you for watching I'm glad this video could help!
How to do this automatically for multiple tracks at once?
Analyze tracks. If it gets it wrong, then you edit manually, or trim your tracks prior to analyze to reduce false first beat detection.
It says on pioneers website that u can connect the cdjs to the rx3
You can connect them via the RCA line inputs in the back or a USB Hub to and laptop. There is not an ethernet (Pro link) port on the back of the RX3, so a direct link to the CDJs via a Cat5 cable is not currently available. Most CDJ users connect the CDJs to each other and use the link feature to switch libraries on a single USB Stick. So, technically, you can connect them. It just wouldn't be as convenient as one might hope.
i am so sick of learning nothing from these stupid videos we don't know how to use it these should be step buy step for a 2 year old stop chattering i learned nothing i am throwing my djs1000 out a window
If the videos don't help, try asking the right questions to get help with what you are trying to get out of your gear or setup. I understand a new piece of gear can be frustrating. Plenty of people find inspiration and help by exploring the videos I create. Also, this is my channel, my platform, and my audience. If you don't necessarily like the content, you can definitely try your luck on another channel, but like I said, I'm always here to help.
the video cover shows guitar electric i come for that but suddenly the guys is rapper xD but tnx for review without testing on pc
Can you elaborate on your comment? What do you mean? The video is about what an audio interface is and a quick look at the Komplete Audio 1.
Should we do so much stuff before each new session for another tracks?
not if you save your settings
Opus is 4 decks
As a touring dj heres my take on both machines so far i have been in this business for over 30 years and have tried most gear under the sun And for me i bring my own gear, why?, have you EVER seen a musician lending instruments? Never. I know before hand my gear is pristine and sounds the best possible. Do you even know how many times i have come to a event, club and the gear is a mess, don't matter if it's the latest 3000 or old as F, 2000s / 1000mk3 *Price - It's quite substantial in Europe where i reside. about 2000$ more for the OQ *As you mentioned, Weight, it's a lot heavier. And you do not want anything else then a coffin for a OQ, believe you me. *Right out of the box a lot more problems and issues with OQ than RX3, Scratched or faulty displays, bad connectors, fried Usb ports and difficulties hooking up via Bluetooth. That to me is a red flag as of now, and with the knowledge how Japanese companies operate you don't even wanna know how they think about these issues. *OQ is not PRO, as RX3 or ZX, cause this Controller is not meant to be moved or toured with. No performance pads or features like the rest, and if you are like me a technical and physical dj, well the OQ will not suffice, unfortunately. *OQ have only two wave forms even with 4 channels at once. The competition has already solved these issues long time ago via Engine 3 update *OQ have some issues regarding the zone output that have not yet been resolved. If you lock at Pioneer Djs track-record and their take on Firmware Updates they are slow out of the gate, and there is never more then two, three tops. The competition is on the case all the time and even the oldest gear is kept in the game and customers happy. /Prove me wrong!
Clubs CDJ’s, Quad? Do all DJ’s know that screen? CDJ’s with a mixer anyone can use. RX3 is more user friendly than the quad. No one has time to figure anything out when you’re live! CDJ’s and a mixer are the way to go!
RX3 is the most stable and functioning controller that is similar to the CDJ 3000's right now, Alpha Theta have something new cooking for maybe release early Jan - Feb 2025, but that beast of a thing will be really heavy and expensive. maybe 4-5K at release
Thanks for the video bro. I just picked up an RX3 and tried using the tracks I have on Apple Music via rekordbox but I’m having the same issue. What’s that cable called that you’re showing? USB to lightning? I’ve been trying to search for it but I only find different USB cables to lightning where the USB isn’t that box shape that can plug 🔌 to the back of the rig. Let me know when you have the chance. Hopefully you receive this message in time. All the best. 🦉🌞⭐️ 🎶 💜
Glad the video can help. Yeah the cable needs to be a USB to USB type B cable like one of these amzn.to/4fZrq4n or the adapter like this one amzn.to/3XliRJJ and make sure the app is updated once you have all of that it will take a few times of toggling the wifi off and choosing the connect to player option for it to work but once you get the routine down its pretty easy.
@@MusicGearMondays Right on. Thanks 🙏 for getting back to me so quickly man. I greatly appreciate it.
You can’t connect CDJs to the OQ
"The second set of methods involves using Pro DJ Link. This long-standing feature allows you to connect to a laptop and use the Opus Quad in the same way as if you were using a USB drive. In other words, the laptop serves as a large hard drive." Pro Link for stand alone use - docs.pioneerdj.com/Manuals/OPUS_QUAD_DRI1795C_manual/?page=42
Also, technically, you can run the CDJs into the line inputs. You would just have to beat match manually like you would if you were playing on vinyl-assuming you've played on vinyl.
Yeah and quite difficult to connect Bluetoth as well. took us over 40 minutes in a quite open air space with no disruptors like heavy wifi or bt traffic. Not a good sign, happened several times on different machines as well.
Instead of duplicate turn the clip into a loop
They need better stems and WiFi streaming on their players like denon does. Denon is killing them!!
If i turn off the wifi it just tells me to turn wifi on when I try and use connect to XDJ
Yeah I just commented on this as well its one you do have to turn the wifi off Hou may have to toggle it a few times for the connect to cdj option to appear also making sure you have the right cable and firmware is updated to latest as well as app will help make it a smoother process. Hopefully that helps feel free to DM me or email me
No comments?????? How. Thx
Thank you for watching!
So happy I found this tutorial, thanks!
Will the DJ DJS-1000 sync with my DDJ 1000 controller?
Unfortunately, it will only sync with pro-link gear like the CDJ's or XDJ-XZ with Pro-Link.
@@MusicGearMondays Thanks for answering my question. Don't think I'm quite ready to upgrade my system, but mostly I use my MPC Live to record audience response and reuse that in my show. So maybe if I just run the mics that I use for that into the DJS 1000 and then back into one of my channels on my DDJ 1000? That is what I am doing with my MPC Live unit, but the signal is a little weak. Is there any way that I can use the other things that the DJS-1000 offers with my DDJ 1000? Maybe I just keep my MPC Live and look into using an audio interface? Thanks again!
@@garyusinger yes you can still run the line inputs or 1/4 inputs to record and sample into the DJS similar to the way you use the MPC the only think you can’t do is use pro link features that mainly for beat syncing on auto. But you can always manually sync the bpm on the DJs so it’s not so big of a deal I show an example of that in one of the videos. Essentially it’s very similar to the MPC just in a CDJ form factor.
