    What does it mean by single use camera? We can use ot only one time or what ?

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm 3 дні тому

      "Disposable" or "single use" cameras are designed to be used for 1 roll of film. Once the film roll is finished, the camera is then given to the photography lab for developing of the film and recycling of the camera by the manufacturer. The manufacturer is supposed to take them back and reload them and sell them as new. The Funsaver, however, can be reloaded by the end user but it's not an easy process and you'll need a darkroom or film changing bag.

      Only options left are to 1) destroy the film pack from the back using a cutting tool like diagonal pliers or 2) disassemble the camera and remove the stuck film from the rollers

    I think this is the problem I’m having with my Instax mini. I have one question though. Is it possible to remove the main cover on the film case? I have no way of inserting used film back into the case because of the plastic cover and I’ve found no way to remove it so far. Thank you!

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm 17 днів тому

      If the film pack is already empty, it's easier to reload the pack if you remove the shiny black tape on the slot that the film comes out of. It is possible to sort of dismantle the whole case-it snaps together but you'll need a lot of force to do it.

      It should work without film. Check the battery contacts and compartment for battery residue-old instax cameras were often left with batteries inside and corroded terminals are common.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong but is the foil not a fire hazard? (Science wasn't one of my better subjects in high school.)

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm 20 днів тому

      Well the foil will need a pretty large voltage and current to to make it hot enough to catch fire-the batteries only provide about 6 volts in total. I wouldn't worry too much about a fire hazard. Using foil is a just a quick hack though and it's always better to use proper springs for a stronger, longer lasting repair.

    what about full white pictures?

    • @inigoestrellas6481
      @inigoestrellas6481 Місяць тому

      I had the same issue but I found out why. Once you place in a new set of film in the camera, your first picture will be that black cover that covers the film. This black prevents the film to be exposed to light. After you print out the black cover, DO NOT open the lid and DO NOT pull out the film because it will be exposed to light. If your film is exposed to light, then all of your films will turn white. So do not open the lid of your camera once you place in new film

      Try pulling it out manually, it should come out with a little pull of the lens. If not, there might be some sort of jam or a problem with the spring and the whole lens cover assembly would need to be disassembled and reassembled.

    I wish I would have found this video before I saw the q-tip advice. I’ve completely jammed my rollers and now I’m going to have to get inside of my camera and make sure I pick everything out. Is there any way you could make a tutorial on how to get to the instax mini 8 rollers? I’m not having any luck finding tutorials for that.

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm 3 місяці тому

      Look for any mini 8 disassembly videos and make sure you understand the risks of doing so because its not easy. Basic procedure is to remove the casing screws, pry open the 2 plastic casings to reveal the camera chassis. 2 tension springs hold the rollers together, remove them by taking out 2 long silver screws. You can take out the rollers for cleaning after that.
