- Welcome back everyone to my channel, sorry it has been so long.
This video is a highly requested update of everything that’s looking good in the greenhouse along with a couple of new plants I’ve purchased over winter. Hope you enjoy!
Nice and interesting tour
Congratulations on your award! Great video as always thanks for sharing
Great to see one another of your videos. Truly enjoy watching your collection.
Absolutely amazing collection, your advice helped me a lot. Can't wait to see another video. ;)
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Very impressive amount of interesting carnivorous plants. The levitation Sarracenia is very cool.
And congratulations on your award 🎉
Man you have a serious carnivorous plant hobby going on there 😳
Hey thanks for the video hope you had a good summer so far looking forward to another update before winter if you're able too. I love your videos they're really interesting and inspiring
Thank you, I have another video on the way today! Hopefully I will be back for a while! :)
@@carnivorous_plant_girl that's great news can't wait :)
Hello I have enjoyed your videos and I have learned a great deal from watching the things that you do I have a large carnivorous plant collection myself I just started my collection 14 months ago. I’m always thinking about you wondering about your safety in Ukraine. I certainly hope that you are safe over there and you are able to continue your way of life. Godspeed God be with you America is on your side ❤
Absolutely beautiful specimens!!! Absolutely cool greenhouse!!! Insects check in but they never check out!!!
Thank you! That’s basically it 😂
Wowww luar biasa...👌
Hi there, I love your plant collection and the videos very helpful! I was wondering if you could do a video on pricking out seedlings? I took a2 cuttings of the sundews in water as you suggested and I can see lots of what looks like roots? So what do I do now ? 😂 I wish I could send you a photo to see! I’m so excited 😆
Hi, thanks for the video suggestion. I will definitely do that! I really hope to find time to do more videos soon! 😅😁
If you’re on Instagram feel free to send me a photo @carnivorous_plant_girl
🎉🎊💃💃💃🎊🎉🥳Yes!!!! Been waiting for this video 🥳🥳
Good upload, nice to have a video. I'm really struggling with the fly trap coming out of this winter..
What potting mix do you use for your sarras and your VFT?
I have started off with a 75% peat and 25% perlite mix but would love to improve.
Hi, the ratio you are already using is fine. I tend to use more perlite in my mixes sometimes 1:1 or 1:2 of peat and perlite. 😁
@@carnivorous_plant_girl thank you for your reply. I have since read that a lot of people do use the 1:1 ratio, so I might give it a go.
Your videos are great and inspiring my little greenhouse here in Australia! 🇦🇺
nice to see you back been a few months a question on the pitcher plants is it best to have them proud of the soil even for ones outside all year
Thank you. Would you mind explaining? Think proud might be an autocorrect?
@@carnivorous_plant_girl sorry yes so the Rhizomes are on top of the soil
@@MrLaking123 Yes, I plant my rhizomes so they are just visible above the soil when planting, both inside the greenhouse and out.
Hello there, I have a question about growing Sarracenias. I have been growing nepenthes for about 2 years and have been very successful and have gotten really nice pitchers. This year I decided to try a white top sarracenia but I wanted to know if the care for it is similar to what you would do for a nepenthes or if it’s completely different?
Hi thanks for watching. Sarracenia have completely different care to nepenthes. Sarracenia don’t require high humidity and like to be sat in water year round, they also require a dormancy period in winter. Outside is usually best for Sarracenia dependent on where you live.
@@carnivorous_plant_girl
Thanks for the reply! I live in zone 7a so I’ll definitely be keeping it outside all year round.
How many hours of sunlight do they get a day? Is it more is better, or is there a limit you should give them?
My greenhouse is south facing so in summer it gets sunlight from as soon as the sun rises to when it sets. There is not really a limit to sunlight, more light produces more colour etc in plants
@@carnivorous_plant_girl Yeah, that was kind of what I figured. The only problem that I have is it gets too hot where I live, so they can’t really stay in the sun in a greenhouse. Thanks though
In what humidity you are keeping these?
I haven’t measured the humidity in the greenhouse but it’ll vary when the door is open and closed.
Hi I cannot seem to find your shop, can you provide a link please
Hi, we are now called The Wilderness if you type that into etsy. However, if you are after something specific I always have plants available if you give me a message on Instagram 😁
