When the game feel lonely is when you beat the game.

I first encountered this phenomenon about a decade ago, playing a space sim called _Elite: Dangerous on my girlfriend’s PS4. The peace I felt jumping from solar system to solar system, uncovering new planets, stars, and other things that nobody else had ever seen at that point was enthralling. The game was made with the Milky Way at a really large scale… I tried to get back into it back in 2020, but it just made me feel so sad inside. This was a really great essay, have a like 👍🏼

You notice how everything is just a game, and that you're actually alone and get to question the objectives

Me: Getting one if not the best deal that I have ever made on my life and I buy and sell for a living so I see a whole bunch of good stuff all the time... Well this was less than a month ago in which I decided to check my local pawnshop and they had a Majoras Mask New 3ds Xl for 49 dollars 😮 Obiously I bought it and posted to try to sell it quick but not a couple of days after that I saw a guy selling a regular 3ds which I didn't mind at all but I saw some blurry games on the pictures he took and decided to ask him randomly about the games the which he told me like 7 games and then he said Stella Glow and Pokemon Omega Ruby so I decided to ask and he told me that he would sell me Stella Glow but not Omega Ruby and then he said (But I have some other games) And that was moment that I decided that I was gonna keep the 3ds. Dude told me that he had Pokemon White White 2 Black 2 Platinum and HeartGold plus Stella Glow and that he didn't played them... Obviously I asked him for only one just to see the price range and dude told me 5 bucks for each my knees fail me for a good 10 seconds cause instantly I thought well maybe there fake copies and it was a whole 1 hour drive for me but I didn't care I took the chance and the copies were legit I paid the dude 30 bucks for all those games and for 80 dollars I made one super nice little collection in less than a week cause obiously I bought Majoras Mask Ocarina of Time Link Between Worlds and Metroid Samus Returns now I'm only waiting for Alpha Sapphire.... I know it was a lot but that great find those great deal plus all the Nostalgia around it made this purchase one of the best in my whole life top 3 most definitely.... So don't fall for the scalpers prices take your time ask around find good deals and enjoy the good times Mates as I'm doing right now running White again to then play all those other pokemon games again... I enjoyed your video but there something missing, a thesis. You provided more of a virtual gallery more so; providing many great examples but without the overarching truth. In the conclusion you speak of how maybe these times can teach us how to better appreciate the times when we do have company but that was lacking throughout most of the rest of the video. As a video I enjoyed it, as an essay I believe it's lacking. I wish you great luck.

I usually never comment but this video made me go through so many different feelings that I had to thank you. Music, transitions, your voice, all of that makes this video a piece of art.

Just a note on your Sea of Thieves portion. When you spot a player ship that is not owned by the captain of the crew with a spyglass, it makes a different sound than if it were owned by the crew and the ones owned by crews will make a different sound when spotted if the ship for the different titles/banners you can equip to them. The sound you put for the skeleton ship is the sound of a skeleton ship spawning on you in which it will engage you in combat, but if you spot it with a spyglass it will make a different sound. Just thought I would mention the extra details, enjoyed the video keep up the good work 👍.

I played eldenring 1st playthrough took 100 hours ( I'm the type of guy who refused to miss any corners). I 100% sekiro. I recently started playing dark souls 1. This game made me feel lonely for the first time. When I entered new londo ruins for the first time, that loneliness just kicks right in.

i like gameplay acknowledging your preference to be a monster, like how undertale removes most of the puzzles and npcs, not just because they're fleeing for their lives, but also the game acknowledges that you're only here for the combat, so it removes everything but combat

i play elden ring offline and after burning the tree , man it get so lonely. No one to talk to as I did lots of character quests and my girl is gone too :)
