    I'm over here getting a double portion of grilled shrimp (protein) with my strawberry quinoa beet salad.I like when I eat in a day as inspiration for preparing meals /recipe ideas. I like influencers that encourage me to eat healthy, balanced and delicious food that is both nourishing to the body and to the soul. When I start feeling like the influencer is Eating in a disordered way,- I move along. This video definitely does not pass the vibe check. She doesn't seem happy at all. I pray that she finds peace with food.

    they definately trigger me and I have to avoid them! It's my ED brain, I see what they eat and then if they're thin and are eating a lot or sweets it stresses me out a bit rather than comforting me. I think the What I eat in a day videos that help me are the ones openly made by people fighting anorexia because they're honest that they're struggling and don't make it seem so effortless

    How do you deal with the anxiety of being constipated & bloated after quitting?

    • @ParallelWellness
      @ParallelWellness 6 днів тому

      That’s really tough, but know that it’s normal as your body adjusts. You can talk to your doctor about gentle medication options as you reduce your use, and also know that your bowels will start working more efficiently with time. The anxiety piece is about noticing your thoughts, reminding yourself that constipation and bloating do not mean you’ve gained weight, and will go away. Be super gentle on yourself - wear loose, comfortable clothes, have a hot bath, drink lots of water and don’t overdo it on fibre.

    Gurrrl! Great! Cause I was thinking about it. I have a problem binge eating kept weight off for 10 yes got into bodybuilding. Moved to a new country my G.A.D got worse and I gained 100lb on top of the 80lb I gain while pregnant all in 1yr. My heaviest way I got it was 295. I’m back into fitness and trying to be more aware of my binging triggers. Currently in the gym while commenting. With anything all medications have a down side. Especially ones that are new

    when I started coloring I didn't really care for it. But when I learned that there was a bit of a learn on it compared to just coloring. There were special tools, coloring books and of the most important coloring tutorials. I am not an artist at all but some of these tutorials can turn anyone into an artist. Thats it.

    Thank you so much for these strategies. I want to ask a question that I have not seen to much research on and that is the effects of medication regarding weight gain. I take medication for mental health that not only increases my appetite but gives me very strong cravings. When i first started taking medication 20 years ago I gained 70 lb. Then when I went off my medication recently I lost 50 pounds within minutes. it was so noticeable and quick that I thought there was something wrong with me. Nope! Unfortunately, I have had to go back on medication and I am starting to binge again. I at least know what the cause is and I no longer feel that it was a lack of control and or that I am at fault in my weight gain. Many need to hear this. Its not your fault! Please please do a video on this topic it is so much needed. Thank you

    I loved this video thank you so much. So you asked what we do to distract from binge. I like to color. And I mean adult coloring which is very different from the way we colored as children. I want many many UA-camrs who teach or illustrate. Because my brain has adapted to coloring as an answer to stress I at times will crave coloring over a binge. Yep! I said that. My brain relates coloring to relaxation. I still have some things I have to work on with my binge eating and I think I'm going to try to eat more regular. Thank you for the tips

    Eating regularly has always been very effective to cut down the number of binge eating episodes in my life. Life can get so hectic that meals and sleep are the things put on the back burner. Hunger and exhaustion removes all thought and it’s almost feral in my need to eat until stuffed. When I can afford it, manicures work very well! Afterwards, it’s as if it calms me down and of course, can’t eat whilst someone is painting your nails! Gardening can be helpful as it keeps hands busy and is a great diversion. Deep breathing and meditation plus long bubble baths work well too. This a really excellent video with suggestions and ideas that are helpful and insightful. And of course, at times in one’s life, it feels as if food and “bad”foods especially are all that is available! Plus, not to overshare, body-touch hunger, loneliness and needing physical touch and sexual intimacy, may trigger intense cravings for foods as a substitute especially rich creamy sweet things or spicy crunchy salty things. And oddly enough, in times of stress overload, having any sort of control, means being out of control and eating exactly what and how much I want! Binge eating calms and grounds me at times for awhile. Finding more and more ways to get needs met and truly care for myself is what I am working on the most right now.

    My head exploded. Jk, sounds really useful and good tp know. I was looking for the breathing techniques . My son recently died and when picking up my grandson from school i found him sobbing on a bench. It dawned on me that he was almost hyperventilating with short fast intake breaths. Pretty sure thats opposjte breathing to slow heart rate yet factory default as its really common. One big breath in then on exhale short bursts 4-3-2 then slowly realease all. If i got that right. Can test easily with rate monitor. I love your many methods as seems we are all a little different and shiuld be ablr to find a go to my little.buddy. Now if i can find out how to get myself into rem so my neuronetwork can heal itself ill get through this tragedy. Thank you!

  • @Mybongtippedover
    @Mybongtippedover 2 місяці тому

    Bro lmao, of course we have different shoe sizes and eye colors and natural hair colors we are BORN LIKE THAT!! Like our height, its genetically predisposed, you cant eat less and get shorter lmao, you cant breath differently to change your eye color, but you can eat differently and change weight... come on 🤔 think! Edit : I'm genetically fat so I simply can't lose weight unless I starve myself to literal death, seems dangerous mentality... you aren't doomed to be fat and/or unhealthy you may just have to be a bit extra careful, or put in a bit of "extra" work, i.e. it's harder to run a mile in a 300 pound body then a 150 pound body simply because of the weight you have to carry

  • @Mybongtippedover
    @Mybongtippedover 2 місяці тому

    "There tends to be this internalized weight stigma in our society" which modern society with medical research condones being overweight as healthy? Sorry if you didnt mean it that way but you make it sound like Americans or Western culture just arbitrarily promotes a certain weight or size? You have a weight based on height, frame, bone density, ect... Im just wondering where you think theres a society that doesnt think being overweight is unhealthy? It just feels like rather then practicing to kick the ball through the net, you widen the goal posts because scoring a goal conventionally is simply too hard and just not for everyone... "crash" diets and juicing and stupid unsustainable plans are just as bad, but you cant just take the polar opposite approach either, its ok to feel hungry sometimes and not eat... our bodies didnt evolve by eating every single time we are hungry... you have a calorie budget, spend it wisely, you will be healthier

  • @Mybongtippedover

    The more Im looking into this, the more it seems like the Planet Fitness of dieting haha. Like, I appreciate the principles and generally getting healthier despite what a weight scale says, but this feels like the watered down, safe space, mean words hurt my feelings, type of approach which i suppose is ok for some, but ultimately its like throwing a pizza party at the gym..

    Not sure if this is worth anytjing but : Ive been ready to flame this whole mindset thing after exploring weight loss/better eating and surprisingly I feel more aligned to this then I initially thought I would, in the sense that I think a temporary diet to lose weight is very silly and in many cases potentially worse then not dieting at all (and going back to old eating habits) ultimately through my relatively short better eating journey (which has resulted in roughly 30 pounds lost so far) Im not dieting in a sense of restricting or banning certain things, just changing behaviors such as sleeping earlier (eliminating late night snacking and binging) eating heavier early in the day and tapering off, NOT drinking calories as much as I can avoid (especially soda!!) while being reasonable with natural juices (fruit and vegetable, little to no added sugar) focusing on proteins, while practicing moderation in healthy fats and carbs (fruits and vegetables are great carbs) and I just find the great whole foods I really enjoy while keeping it in the boundries of a rough calorie limit for the day. I LOVE fruits like berries and apples and I could probably eay pounds of them a day, but I just work on fitting them in a reasonable calorie frame for my size and activity level and its been wonderful! People who my weight loss sometimes ask or almost accuse me of being on a diet but I really wouldnt say Im "on a diet" at all... Im just making more reasonable choices and not overconsuming or eating stuff just for the sake of it tasting good, keeping sight of liquid calories (milk, juice) and sauce calories (mayo and ketchup calories and sugars vs mustard and hot sauce lack of sugar ect) has helped me so much it doesnt feel like I even have to try after a few weeks of getting a good sense of food proportions (calories) and buying fruits and vegetables snacks at the store rather then Doritos and Coke. To me it seems your shining a light on the fact that a temporary diet for temporary results isnt the way to go, and rather getting a grasp of your appropriate caloric requirements and filling it with the best healthy whole foods your taste buds are happy to consume is by far the best long term! Anyway, the video made me happy and i appreciate it thank you!

    Im genuinely curious if people think its healthy for your body to starve yourself of nutrition for the sake of fat (and in that case muscle) mass, in a totally unsustainable crash diet type thing, only to go back to the former diet/lifestyle that put them in the position to try an extreme diet in the first place, is actually going to make you healthier? Isnt it obvious just to consider calories in terms of how much quantity of good whole foods you should consume in a 24 hour period?

    A skinny guy drinks vodka and smokes a pack of cigarettes every day, a fat guy eats way too much whole grain foods potatoes vegetables and natural meats... yea the fat guys probably healthier, but increasing his cardiovascular health by exercising, losing weight to reduce strain on his body and joints, how is this complicated lol

    So in other words HAES really does not acknowledge the possibility of weight being a contributing factor to illness? Does it recognize at any level overeating as a health problem, or the overconsumption of certain foods as being harmful to the body? Or does it simply tiptoe around such issues in order not to cause shame?

      I think this question misses the bigger focus. The right research can make anything a correlate, but correlation does not equal causation. Instead, HAES looks at more comprehensive research that shows it’s not actually the state of our bodies that contributes to all the health concerns, but how we behave. Are you eating a varied diet with fruits, vegetables, fibre, protein and fat? Are you moving your body regularly and working your cardiovascular system? Are you getting adequate sleep? Are you attending to your mental health? If you answer yes to all those things you’re more likely to have better health outcomes, regardless of your body weight. We need to look at the real issue - lifestyle.

      Obviously weight is only one of many factors represented by lifestyle, and I wholeheartedly agree that everything should be taken into consideration. But that’s not really the insinuation of HAES. I just finished reading the Intuitive Eating book and I found some really great principles in it. I also found myself frustrated by the studious avoidance of the very real issues I mentioned above-and your answer is more of the same. There’s a strong message in the book that self-discipline is bad. The book even states that “weight stigma” leads to a host of illnesses that science tells us are increased by excess weight. There’s a difference between acknowledging the natural differences in bodies without suggesting that there’s no problem with morbid obesity, which is really promoted by the body positivity movement. You can promote the wholistic things you mentioned without pussy-footing around the harm done to our bodies by over-indulging on harmful foods and carrying excess weight. The “correlation doesn’t equal causation” is simply a caveat that ignores decades of evidence of the harms of obesity, down to the molecular level.

      I’m a naturally medium/slim, active person who put on weight over the past year due to stress and depression and coping with food. I read the IE book hoping for something helpful, but the message I’ve come away with is essentially not to try to have self-discipline, not to “over-exercise”, to eat what I want, when I want, as much as I want, and to accept whatever size I end up. I can see how someone who is already large would find solace in this, but if I adopted these philosophies, I’d be a mess. I find it rather disturbing.

      @@AlinaTowersit's very frustrating to look into things like this, because they blur the line between sensible idea and theory, and complete bullshit set to cater to people who want everything to feel good and be super kind and sensitive to them, they need a trophy for last place kind of thing, sadly it's what some people need so im glad there's something there for them, and maybe it slowly shifts them into the right direction, but for most sensible people who just want the facts and truth and no bullshit or fluff, you have to filter and sift through a lot of bullshit "safe space" talk to kind of hear the valuable principles underneath which I admit are certainly there

    Principle 1: Bodies naturally come in different shapes and sizes, and there’s nothing healthy about idealizing a specific shape or weight. Principle 2: Optimizing access to all aspects of health, not just focusing on weight. Principle 3: Eating for well-being-recognizing differing nutritional needs, rejecting diet mentality, honoring hunger and fullness. “Intuitive eating”. Principle 4: Respectful care, challenging the focus on weight Principle 5: Healthy movement

    So what do you tell a man who says he is no longer attracted to his partner after she has a baby and the woman is having a tough time losing weight bc she's busy taking care of their baby. I mean he needs to change his thinking but how??

    Orthorexia is just a term being pushed by the fat acceptance community to label anyone who does not overeat and cares even the slightest about eating healthy. There is no psychological scientific consensus that has acknowledges orthorexia as a legitimate eating disorder
