I have problem of buying and collecting the Movie Star reissues. It may have it's flaws but I still like them. Though the figures I hope to see an reissue for Playmates would be The Movie III Turtles where they are wearing Samurai armors. BTW, the more proper term to describe ninja stars is Shuriken.

This is an incredibly comprehensive review. Thank you for going into so much detail. I honestly did not know that this figure was all-new, and was previously only planning to pick up figures of new characters to add to my vintage collection. Now I might collect the whole line. 😅

The first few runs of the 90 2 packs had the original hinged hips, but NECA did a re-release of the 90 2 packs a year or so back that did have the ball joint hips. I have a set of both on the 90 figs with both hip joints.

No American flag? Is it too offensive for the communists that have infiltrated every institution in this country? Guys, just buy the original. No need to waste money on a re-issue with lower quality.

11:15 What's interesting is the vintage TMNT line I beleive was 5" scaled as the TMNT themselves are supposed to be shorter then the average human. If you look at Shredder and the Foot Soldiers, they had to sculpt them crouched over just so they'd fit on the blister bubble. I wouldn't be surprised if they needed to squash Toxie a little bit so he'd fit on the bubble too. If anything these new legs are more durable then the vintage 1991 TMNT style legs, as they tend to snap over time. Toxie's Toxic Waste back in the day was a more yellowish color AND it glowed in the dark! I got a MOC Nozone in like 1996 or 97 and he came with a small yellow cannister of toxic waste. I'm glad the new mop can actually separate for the action feature as the vintage toy's mop was on so tight I could never get it to work.

I'm not sure how many days (or weeks) it took me to finish the video, but I do know I enjoyed every second of it. I was hooked and I loved learning about the Turtle Party Wagon. Excellent job Gary!

Man Collectors are eating good nowadays. I'm not too sure why this fig is needed because we have the Super 7 version but hey I guess if u want a 2up of the OG, here it is.

I watched all this stuff as a kid. i.e. Toxic Avenger, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, etc. I watched it all and loved it. Really glad I was able to. Though I think most kinds I knew all watched these movies as every kid knew who Freddy was. I also went as Freddy Kruger one year for Halloween, had that plastic Halloween costume with the Freddy mask on it. Loved it.

You might could rub the handles on some sand paper to thin the handle down some so the bandoleer fits a little better.

This figure is $25, so I hope the quality of the plastic, etc. is a lot better than the $10 reissue TMNT figures. As those TMNT figures are real cheap feeling and looking. I'd have gladly paid $15 for the quality to be the same or better than the original release.

It's been my dream for them to do new "vintage" TMNT sculpts! Thought maybe it'd come true with the upcoming "vintage remastered" release but those seem to be missing the mark. I'm looking forward to this new Toxie line continuing! Hopefully they'll do the mailaway USA Toxie & maybe a movie style repaint. I just saw the Trick or Treat Toxie at Walmart today of all places!

I was going to ditch on this figure because of the INEXPLICABLY STUPID seam going right across the front, making it look like utter TRASH, like really, it looks like trash... ...but honestly, the elbow joints to the arms save it. They did something 100% inexcusable, but added something 100% necessary.

Splinter looks like ET when he died

monty moose came with the most legit weapons… a 6 shot pistol! The Peacemaker did not come with his gun and his character used a gun, Monty Moose wielding a .44 magnum against shredder and the foot? I don’t care how good your ninja skills are a .44 will put a hole in the front and a barn door through your back!

Thanks for the comparison video! I like the all green of the Neca figure, I’m just not a huge fan of the animated designs. I wish super 7 had either used the green GITD plastic, or changed his uniform to a different color. I love their GITD mutagen man because he looks so different from the original, but with this muckman it’s just not as eye-catching (as you pointed out). That said, he’s <$30 right now, so I may still pick him up.

I had a co-op job at Kenner back in 1985-86. For the last 9 figures you featured, I worked directly with the sculptor. He sculpted them first then passed them to me to freehand and put dimensions to the drawings for the blueprints. Before my co-op semester ended, the sculptor brought me a set of the “first production” figures (no legal markings). If there’s a way to add a photo I’ll do that.

these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Star figures are pretty impressive to me more detail and don't feel cheaply made. For show pieces I think they look better than the retro ones do.

The 2014 version doesn’t have pupils in pet turtle mode

The original version had a concerned face in pet turtle mode and even the ninja turtle mode still looked concerned because it had sad eyes.

I envy you guys that can buy Super 7 easily and acceptable prices! For me I’m from Singapore & I need to rely on Amazon and prices are not cheap too! 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's insane. A few weeks ago, I finally got an _Invisible Man Michaelangelo_ to complete my collection of the original Universal Monsters waves. The card has some flaws, but it's still MOC. I thought I got a deal. Individually, _Invisible Man Michaelangelo, the Mutant Raphael,_ and _Black Lagoon Leo_ each ended up setting me back around $250 a piece. I couldn't believe my luck on that. The deal you got is ridiculous.

1991 is better in figures and movie

The original ones did come with the 'Mutation Charts', like all 12 figures in the line did. Note that the first wave made it more like 'evolution' of an entire species of mutants (starting as cavemen for Bebop, Rocksteady and Splinter; something fish/tadpole-like for the turtles), while the second wave (Shredder, Foot Soldier, April, Tokka, Rahzar) was more of a personal development of the character (Foot Soldier started as a light bulb, duh!). Why does everyone nowadays not flip the rubbery side 'panels' (where the intra-marginal shells on a real turtle would be) on to the front? The old instructions clearly tell you to do so (there even is this little notch underneath the belt buckle for them to lock on). Not doing so is rather bad for the durability of these things... Those side flaps usually were the most common thing to break on these figures (next up were the 'inside legs', that's why they changed the connection to metal screws since 2003).
