    Rudston comes from 'Rood Stone', meaning a stone with a Cross. An old word for the crucifix in a church, as in 'Holyrood Palace/Abbey in Edinburgh. You will realise, if you look at a map of the area that Rudston sits in a loop of the Gypsy Race Stream that is almost an island, which is full of ancient sites, making it a local 'Sacred' landscape, which must be significant for the siting of the stone. The Church has been biult here to Christianise the are, while at the same time continuing the holy nature of the place. The 'Devil's Arrows' are the next in size to the Rudston monolith itself. The third stone of the Arrows is across & beside the road, in a gap in the hedge. Ages ago there were 4 stones in the line, but one was removed to be broken up for road stone. Perhaps originally there were some more, but who knows how many? These stone never have as much below ground as above. That would be impossible. Generally they are usually just a metre or so deep in the ground.

    Well done Craig on completing the twelve weeks. I was diagnosed with Type 2 within the last year and have recently been referred for the Soup and Shake's diet. I'm just under 19st and have a mmol of 8.2 so not too excessive. I am looking forward to losing weight for sure although do feel it will be a challenge. Today I received my sample pack... not tried any of them yet. I have my initial 45 minute assessment call next week and an agreed start date of 23rd January (getting Christmas out of the way). Came across your videos when looking for reviews and just watched your twelve week experience. I'm confident I will stick with it but will miss eating out and generally eating! But... looking forward to the weight loss and becoming more healthy... well done once again.

    Now, when I was a young man, I carried me pack And I lived the free life of the rover From the Murray's green basin to the dusty outback Well, I waltzed my Matilda all over Then, in 1915, my country said, "Son It's time you stop ramblin', there's work to be done" So they gave me a tin hat, and they gave me a gun And they marched me away to the war And the band played "Waltzing Matilda" As the ship pulled away from the quay And amidst all the cheers, the flag-waving and tears We sailed off for Gallipoli And how well I remember that terrible day How our blood stained the sand and the water And of how, in that hell that they called Suvla Bay We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter Johnny Turk, he was waitin', he'd primed himself well He showered us with bullets, and he rained us with shell And in five minutes flat, he'd blown us all to hell Nearly blew us right back to Australia But the band played "Waltzing Matilda" When we stopped to bury our slain We buried ours, and the Turks buried theirs Then we started all over again And those that were left, well, we tried to survive In that mad world of blood, death, and fire And for ten weary weeks, I kept myself alive Though around me the corpses piled higher Then a big Turkish shell knocked me arse over head And when I woke up in me hospital bed And saw what it had done, well, I wished I was dead Never knew there was worse things than dyin' For I'll go no more Waltzing Matilda All around the green bush far and free To hump tent and pegs, a man needs both legs No more Waltzing Matilda for me So they gathered the crippled, the wounded, the maimed And they shipped us back home to Australia The legless, the armless, the blind, the insane Those proud, wounded heroes of Suvla And as our ship pulled into Circular Quay I looked at the place where me legs used to be And thanked Christ there was nobody waitin' for me To grieve, to mourn, and to pity But the band played "Waltzing Matilda" As they carried us down the gangway But nobody cheered, they just stood and stared Then they turned all their faces away And so, now every April, I sit on me porch And I watch the parade pass before me And I see my old comrades, how proudly they march Reviving old dreams of past glories And the old men march slowly, old bones stiff and sore They're tired, old heroes from a forgotten war And the young people ask, "What are they marching for?" And I ask meself the same question But the band plays "Waltzing Matilda" And the old men still answer the call But as year follows year, more old men disappear Someday, no one will march there at all Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda Who'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me? And their ghosts may be heard as they march by that billabong Who'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me?

    Not really the mind set with this drug, I start this tomorrow, have a weekly meal plan tailored for this, then changes to intermediate fasting 16:8 meal plan in the 3 months ( eat better ) no silly diets and off this, so Im doing 3 months as well as a 3 month no gym work out, then off the drug and eat properly and go to the gym, you don't get healthy eating less crap and sitting about, the important thing with this as far as ive worked out, is eat really healthy to start, then adjust to your liking after, and no 1 is exercise

    Here to agree with the others in the comments. Going from 5 to 10 is extreme. I’m glad you didn’t get even more ill. Like the others have said, the scheduling of the doses and amounts are in place to prevent the extreme side effects that you had. So the general rule is at least four weeks on 2.5, at least four weeks on 5, at least four weeks on 7.5, then 10. Also, if you’re still losing weight on a specific dose, there’s no rule you *have* to go up. Many people have success staying on 2.5,5 or 7.5. Wishing you all the best on your journey. 🙏🏻

    This is a seriously effective compound with very carefully developed dosing schedules. The dosing I just listened to you described that you did to yourself is frankly insane. It's no wonder you got sick. I've experienced gastric side effects at each dose but they alleviate with time. But if you just suddenly go up to a high dose because you think it's not working fast enough, you can end up in the ER quickly.

    • @craig-duncan
      @craig-duncan Місяць тому

      Yup! Its an internet drug. I checked online to see if doubling the dose worked for people and for some it did. So, I dunno. Its all a risk.

    • @StephenHolland8
      @StephenHolland8 Місяць тому

      @craig-duncan at the very least you're supposed to do 4 weeks at every dose. That's what they did in the Surmount trials used to prove the drug's efficacy and secure FDA approval. Even better is if you spend months on the lowest dose possible. These drugs are only developed to give you 1 to 2 lb a week of weight loss, and that was really just a side effect for diabetes patients who were treated with it it because its main purpose is to control blood sugar. If you think about it the only time you ever double your dose is when you go from 2.5 mg to 5 mg. You're supposed to spend time at 7.5 mg before going from 5 mg to 10 mg. I had relatively few side effects at 2.5 mg and 5.0 mg, and 7.5 mg has kicked my ass a little bit.

    Wow! You really way overdosed yourself on Mounjaro! I have been on it for 2 years. I spent 2 months on 2.5mg, 2 months on 5mg, 3 months on 7.5mg, 15 months on 10mg and just now 2 months on 12.5mg. Moving up in dose as quickly as you did could definitely cause the side effects you described. I am very sorry you went through that! I have lost 110lbs. The key is not moving up in dose so quickly! Good luck on your journey!

      I think you're right, and the lower doses are a lot cheaper than the 7.5mg+ doses so it makes sense to keep a happy medium. I took my first dose a couple of weeks ago and have just taken my third. If I can get the same feelings as the first 2.5mg, I'll be happy. The second and third doses have had almost no effect. I am hoping that 5mg will be the sweet spot. I did notice that with 1 more dose in the pen, there is volume for 2 more 2.5mg doses! I will save this for the 5mg dose to experiment if it starts to wane without having to buy a 7.5mg pen!

    I developed a rash while on Mounjaro; my GP did not think it was drug related but I stopped using it just in case and after some time swapped to Wegovy and the rash came back with a vengeance (skin peeling off etc)! I saw a dermatologist who told me it was eczema and not drug related (I’m 53 and have never had eczema)! Foolishly because of my desperation to lose weight I went back on Mounjaro 2.5 and the rash started again! Needless to say I won’t be using it anymore and am now calorie counting which seems to be working. Very rarely is the rash mentioned but it is a known side effect.

    Good luck dude, I'm on the NHS diabetes remission thing at the moment and I'm a bit worried how I'm going to deal with that coming off the Altralife. I did really well last year and nearly got myself there but doing much the same. Stopping Sweetie Sugars, Bread and potatoes, worked really well for me last year but life gets busy and it all goes out of the window. This time around I'm planning to meal prep and just pre-cook and freeze as much as I can so there's always something to have...

    Hey Craig- I'm glad you shared this because I don't think people are talking about the risk of gastroparesis with these injections. My younger sister was a type 1.5 diabetic who ended up getting gastroparesis the old fashioned way by having very little blood sugar control. The food just rests in your stomach without digesting properly, causing all sorts of problems. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'm not trying to scare you; it sounds like you've got this figured out anyway. But I'm truly worried we're going to be hearing the word gastroparesis in daily parlance as people begin dealing with this side effect more. Good luck to you and your health . Working on yourself always pays off. Cheers!

    Hi Craig, as someone who has taken these injections I found it was really, really import to only go up by one dosage every 4 weeks to allow your body to adjust. If you eat food against the diet plan your toilet will suffer the consequences, I likened it to explosive constipation. My issue was the lack of support from the pharmacist I got it from, as well as ultimately the cost. Sounds like you also had a bad dose of norovirus as you mention which will certainly cause you to be unwell from both ends. Best of luck for the future.

    Carbs and calories book (supported by Diabetes UK) has great information. Advice is: 3 meals a day, 5 fruit and veg a day, oily fish 2 x a week, beans peas lentils count as 1 of your 5 a day. whole grain carbs, sugar less than 30g daily (7 cubes), 3 portions dairy products daily, monosaturated and polyunsaturated fats, alcohol in moderation, salt less than 6g a day, 1g protein per kg bodyweight, total calories 2000 day total fat 70g a day of which sat fat 20g , less than 70g processed meat a week, fibre 30g daily, low calorie diet is approx 1600 calories a day. The book has pictures and nutritional information of portions sizes for many different foods and it even describes te size of the plate that was used in the photo so you can see it for yourself. I did the soup and shakes for 6 weeks until my immune system broke down, which sound like what happened to you. I spent some time refeeding, resting and now I will lose weight more slowly using the above method. I intend to be free about it in terms of maybe 1700 calories one day and maybe 1500 another day. All the best.

I believe they had one of the good marriages and lives together, rare these days, Linda inspired me to become vegetarian... did you ever see her cameo role in the bbc tv sitcom calked Bread... hilarious... I love watching videos of Linda... sorry she left so young... great mother, great life, great wife, great person, great animal lover, great role model, talented to boot... thanks Craig, best wishes to you and yours Helen (fellow animal lover)

    Ye'll not find the grave of my uncle Adam here, or anywhere else. Another man with no known grave. He died somewhere in Belgium in 2018. All he's got is his name in a book

    My families home from the mid 1500’s to the late 1800’s. The original home (now in ruins) can be seen as you walk toward High Park. The surrounding farms were homes to my 9th, 8th and 7th, grandfathers and their sons. Farm names include:- Skeroblinraid, High Ranaken, Low Ranaken, The Drum, and Carskey. You have total access in Scotland to land, unless designated.

    Come on Craig...Picking their nose !?!? The Picts were an ancient people who lived in what is now Scotland from the fourth to ninth century AD. Their name comes from the Latin word picti, which means "painted people" and refers to their custom of body painting or tattooing.

    Eric Bogle, born in Peebles, Scotland emigrated to Australia. He maintained that he wanted an Irish name for the song to combat anti-Irish sentiment at the time of writing. The name McBride was used because it rymed with "graveside".

      @rudolfgerstenberger4987.......mcbride is a scottish name which he used to rhyme with graveside. it was never about one individual soldier. he does state in his interview with an irish tv crew about the anti-irish sentiment ....personally i never witnessed it. he probably said that to keep in favour with the multitudes of irish singers/bands who have covered it. royalties, but as he states 2 am no stupid a registered both titles. also, in his interview with and irish tv crew he talks about the scottish lament fleurs o the forest of which scots soldiers are traditionally buried to. (which is actually in the song). could that be a subtle hint he was scottish. no, he has never ever mentioned the nationality of the soldier. als, in his interview he states quite clearly " people think this is the grave i sat down at it's not" so who was the original willie mcbride?. he also stated quite clearly he wanted to write a song in respect of all the fallen soldiers in that graveyard. look up.....eric bogles return to no mans land parts one and two..
