Pull pistons, replace o-rings, they swell. Clean the cylinders! Inspect for chrome or shards in cylinders or scoring of cylinders. If you damaged the wire c ring holding the washer...use an E clip. The small is a 3/4 clip...the large...well your turn to go to Lowes. If you remove the handle its 26 mm and they are reverse thread on the right..the bolt is marked R and L...for threads.

Couple things, first, thank you, and I thoroughly appreciate your thorough nature. Second, what that other guy said, shouldnt have used Dikes (cutters) to pull that spring back on the E-Brake. My recommendation would be the Locking Pliers as you can clamp down on the wire rope and lock the spring back out of the way and let go (of the pliers) to slide it in place. Third, (and by your thorough nature you probably already are aware) the adjuster(which if I am not mistaken is a type of turnbuckle) should have an access slot on the back of the hub assembly, so one can adjust it with a flathead or “brake spoon” without even taking the tire off. Usually has a little rubber grommet in the slot to reduce moisture intrusion. This design may not have that though. Other than that, FANTASTIC CONTENT, Can’t knock a fuckin thing here. I appreciate you. I should be doing this for someone tomorrow and nothing eases anxiety like a walkthrough when you’ve never done *precisely* the same job on *precisely* the same vehicle.

I can open it from the outside thank god. Tomorrow the battle starts as I remove the door panel and see what's wrong. @@Pen_Pusher With your good help, it actually went very well. I thought a defective actuator was the problem, or the door lock clip was broken near the actuator. Once I removed the door panel, I first saw that the yellow clip on the door lock was intact. The actuator also seemed to be working. Then I noticed that the cable that goes from the door handle back to the actuator/lock had somehow slipped out of the handle assembly. The slot is so narrow that it would be a major fluke for the cable to slip out like that. But it did. Once I inserted the cable back into the handle, the door opened like a brand new one. Toyota wanted $500-$600 to diagnosis the problem and replace the actuator if they found that to be the problem. I hate to be a skeptic, but my fear is that they would have re-attached the cable and STILL charged me $600, ha-ha. How would I know? UA-cam videos like yours save guys like me a lot of money and even more time. I will say if I had to work on a door that wouldn't open (like yours) and I had to remove a seat...well, I'm not sure I have that much perseverance. Hopefully, that cable will never slip out of the handle assembly ever again. Thanks for your help!

It reacted like everything I watched on youtube. this was so simple that I've always did my own mechanic work all of my life, but now that I'm 68 and my back is in so much pain when I do things, It makes me wonder if it is worth the pain to save $117.00 dollars for the tie rod end and labor that took about 1 hour. I'm going to send this to the dealer that made me wait 5 hours for them to replace this bulb. They said they had to remove the bumper and then the light fixture to replace it. I called complete BS. Washingtonians aren't the brightest, no pun intended.

That's why dealers get a bad name!

Ok so I asked chatgpt what I can do. It advised to open and close the central locking with the switch fast continuously... can you believe it worked. I did it about 30 times and it eventually worked something loose and opened the lock. unbelievable, but well worth a try to anyone with a seized central locking mech.

Can you do this on a Honda CRV or know how to?

It should be similar. This is quite a big job. It might be better to have a shop look at it and use their equipment to get the door open. Once you have the door open you can remove the trim and get to the issue inside the door. Good luck!

It is a Braun from Harbor Freight. It is similar to this: www.harborfreight.com/800-lumen-led-rechargeable-magnetic-handheld-foldable-slim-bar-work-light-black-59103.html But it cost half the price. I love it and find it indispensable for working on cars. :)

So this might be a stupid question, But why can't you just put an impact wrench on it and zip it out?

That is not a stupid question. That is what they do in workshops all the time. This video is for normal folks who have some tools at home, but don't have access to such a high powered impact gun. :)
