- How to replace the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. The DRLs remain on while the key is turned, even when your headlights are off.
No tools required, but you will have to contort your hand and may lose a bit of skin. :)

This is perfect. I've watched half a dozen videos, all of them were missing important info or didn't address an issue that came up. This answered it all in half the time.
Thanks for the encouragement!
This was so helpful to do as a woman who doesn’t like to ask for help. Thank you :)
Awesome video! Thank you. I attempted to do it without removing the headlight. My hands were to big and the bulb was completely stuck inside the housing. Kudos to you my friend! Thanks!
Sorry to hear that. Perhaps ask a friend with smaller hands next time. 🙂
Excellent advice. 10 minutes with minimal fuss.
Nice!
Amazing video, was able to accomplish this task with ease thanks to your thorough tutorial. Thank you for making this so easy!!
Glad I could help! 😊
Thanks for making this! I was unsuccessful in removing it. My hand not big, but I couldn’t get it to twist off. I’ve been able to replace all bulbs except the driver’s side daytime running lights.
I'm sorry to hear that. See if you can get light and a mirror in there to check if it is rusted on. It is difficult to see in there. :)
How did you change the fog lights? Pulling the bumper?
Sorry, I did not do the fog lights. :(@@nickolasadame1939
Thanks for making this
You're very welcome!
Thanks bro for your guidance on video.😀
You're welcome!
Thank you for this
No worries. Hope it helped!
Thank you. My left one has fused twice this year. Bruises my hand every time I must replace it.
You must have bigger hands, like me. A wife, or girlfriend may have the right sized hands. :)
thank you
You're welcome Donna! 🙂
This really helps! The bulb I need to replace, but it’s loose in the headlight cover and out of the socket. Is it easy to remove the cover so I can remove the loose bulb?
Hi Harris, the photo at 1:31 shows you the inside of the headlight housing. If your bulb lies inside this part you should be able to reach easy enough. If your bulb is located beyond this part in the glass enclosure, then you have a different problem. You will probably need to remove the whole headlight to get it out.
Replaced the right bulb easily, struggling with left one. Bruised my hand and even got minor cuts, but the bulb is not budging. Any suggestions?
See if you can get light and a mirror in there to check if it is rusted on. It is difficult to see in there. :)
Once you remove that outer cover and reach your hand in the hole, how many lightbulbs could you access from this hole? I feel like we are able to access the bulb that would be the highbeam, but I don’t think we reached low enough for the daytime running late. Could that be the case?
Yes, that could absolutely be the case. You have to slide your hand on the bottom of the housing towards the front. The daytime running light is the lowest one.
This is not an easy task. I have made several attempts temps to no avail. Is there an alternate way?
Yes, you can remove the headlight from the vehicle and then change the bulb when you have better access.
What is the type for the bulb lamp?
Check the video at 00:15 🙂
Every video shows the easy side lmao
Well, if you are right handed, the other side is easier. :)
This is a great video, but i can't get a grip on the housing part to twist. To all engineers that design stupid stuff like this, it needs to be punched in the mouth. Why is changing a bulb taking me over an hour
I am with you there! There must be an easier way...
