    Sorry to deliver my first ever thumbs down rating on your channel. The view of the Caux Forum is in line with one video of the self declared philanthropist. 🤔 In the TED Talk he wanted to oblige the world to *his* unsubstantiated view of the impact of CO2. Leading to the absurd hypothesis about reducing agriculture activity (and thus putting millions of people to the risk of famine) instead of increasing number of forests as well as the starting the desalination plant, solar energy, hydrogen cycle. If *hope* is a verb I hope that the many scientists are heard who question this university dropout from the US and his theories.

    This is a great start into a leveraged consciusness. Well done. Did you realize that also the modification of the physical space can set the "weather" of an interaction from a true interaction on the same level to lecturing from above? The visitor's chair in an office of a salesperson for the client compared to his comfortable "throne" is a first hint that there is no real dialogue there.....

    • @inner-architecture
      @inner-architecture 23 дні тому

      There are so many different possible places to start, but a great place is with something I call a LifeCV: A “Life CV” focuses on both personal and professional achievements that are defined by the momentous occasions in one’s life. It could relate to conquering fears, taking risks, overcoming obstacles, etc. This is a way to catalog some of the events that shaped your character and to observe the “red threads” of the values, gifts, passions and skills that drive you in life. *Be sure to do this exercise when you are well rested and in a calm state. Set aside 1 hour for this exercise, and consider utilizing a number of resources to spark your memories - photographs, old journals, past work CVs, ... anything that will help remind you of past events and life experiences. For each set of 5 years from birth, as yourself the following questions: 0-5 years of age: 1. What were the Significant Life Events? 2. What were your Key Impact Moments? 3. What were your Biggest Lessons Learned? 4. What Key Skills did you Obtain/cultivate? 5. What are your Biggest Gratitudes? (Repeat for each section of life until your current age…so 5-10, 10-15, etc) * When you reflect back after you are done with the exercise, what trends and observations do you see? What are you most proud of cultivating? Perhaps this is an interesting place to begin exploring…what do you think?

These daily soap doesn't show anything besides people of high government paygrades seeking for your attention. But the world itself - and every city - has so much beauty to detect. So unpack your running shoes, or in case of Rebecca take your dog and re-experience cities, nature and its beauties. As Rebecca said in another video *Listen for the gold*

      This is why I believe it’s so important to raise our awareness, build wisdom and remain curious. We can ask questions and continuously choose to actively create ourselves and our stories based on our values and how we want to show up in the world. When I outsource my thinking without question…I lose connection to self.

    I don't understand. Like, it makes sense but I personally don't understand how to form a connection woth someone. I'm on either end of the spectrum. Is it just about balancing listening and sharing?

    • @inner-architecture
      @inner-architecture Місяць тому

      Balancing listening and sharing is a huge part of building connection with someone (or a group of people). When it comes to listening, a big part is to listen for common ground or curiosity instead of “listening to respond”. By this, I mean that you listen to find those bridges of commonality, or things that you would like to understand more about the person in front of you. (sometimes I find myself trying to seem smart or competent instead of really trying to learn more about the person I’m speaking with.) And to be clear, it’s not about removing ourselves completely from a conversation. But it IS about developing a deep sense of curiosity about the other person, and bringing that curiosity into the discussion. One thing that may help is something called the meta-perspective, and this requires some self-awareness on our side. It involves observing our own thoughts and (if fitting) speaking them out loud as a way of sharing a view inside of our own head. For example, maybe I find something that someone said interesting but also confusing. Instead of just nodding and smiling, I could observe that confusion and ask a question like: “ I’m really interested in what you just said, but I find myself also confused. Can you share more about that?” Often it is very simple questions like this that open the doors for deeper connection. Out of curiosity, do you have any specific questions or examples of how you would like to connect better?

At the beginning of the video, I was already thinking of somebody I wanted to send this to (who is on the more reserved side, who often abstains from life), but when you mentioned the chattier end of the spectrum, I recognized that this message is for me as well. 😅🤭🙏 It's true, it's easy to get carried away on delivering what I believe is to be worthwhile information, advice, or insight, but with no connection, or if the connection is lost along tbe way, it's pretty much wasted time for both parties. 😬 Youch, I will be thinking about and immediately applying this lesson! Thank you for how you presented it; it hit home for me.

  • @SpiritualDevil

    I kind of think of it as "we are all children" and children don't have time to think about how someone else thinks about what they are saying. Truth is truth. So many documentaries on 'Flix right now show crimes that were just... Not dealt with... For decades (and longer)... Not because of one storyteller in the mix, but because so many people can't think beyond paper words and the egocentric way of "proving" right or wrong. As a kid... "I'm sorry, I didn't know that I was hurting your feelings!" As an adult... "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was being an asshole!" And then in the other camp of adults (and kids alike), there are still a percentage who ARE assholes. In society as we are experiencing it, even our concept of storytellers is challenging among "our fathers" and the old wise tales shared generationally... Like a curse, or a sickness. UNease... DISease... Health is Wealth! Spend it Wisely! :)

    • @inner-architecture
      @inner-architecture 4 місяці тому

      As I read your words above, I feel for myself that there is much truth, but also many layers mixed up together that make me pause and question. So thank you for being thought provoking for me. I think this is why self-awareness and personal accountability for our identities (how we show up, both for ourselves and in response to the world around us), is so important. We can only work on what we can see, especially in ourselves. This is what I mean by choosing our story… choosing that when it would be easiest to show up as an asshole, I choose forgiveness or whatever aligns with how I want to be at my best. What do you think?

    This is another great video which resonates with me. After reading so much about the AI and seeing the accumulation of "jobless" wealth at at least two of the Tech Billionaire companies in the US I show up more confident than ever before: I am the one using "paper tickets" in the S-Bahn and the train and I would suggest to delete the train & surveillance app. Monthly passes are available at the counter or if really needed at the ticketing machine. But even this supports the local economy, the maintenance person has to go there, the cash transport company visit it.... Hope you get the idea. This is my small contribution to lively public transport and beyond: Not 100 % automation with only the security personnel left.

      It’s a really interesting way that you share this thought that most educated to be consumers instead of tellers of stories. I’m reflecting on it, and perhaps it’s an interesting video to create soon. ;)

      @@inner-architecture In this video you share your thoughts amidst the power of nature. You are a professional in media so its undoubtedly no coincidence that the wind of positive energy is blowing around you. The third message is the calmness and energy of nature at the same time. Regardless if it's embracing a forest, a round of jogging or just holding the nose into the wind to feel the air flow.

      Absolutely! And there are multiple levels to this, from “simply” inspiring laughter or reflection to the art of meaningful edutainment and pulling the lessons out of daily life. (I would actually love to create a new video on this, so I’ll keep you posted!)

      Empowerment and inspiration are two of the big focuses of why I share. I’m a big believer that we learned best and deepest through our own experiences, but I also know that hearing the experiences of others can help us string together our own learnings into deeper awareness and self-understanding.

    Thanks for the great inspiration. At the moment I *really wonder* why so many professionals like news outlets or self-declared leaders only weave stories showing what doesn't work in the world? Or did they just forget the beauty and greatness outside their isolated houses of bureaucracy? What do you think, Rebecca?

    • @inner-architecture
      @inner-architecture 10 місяців тому

      Excellent question, and I can only share my impressions and ideas. (And I could go into 1'000 different directions with this, so I'll try to be concise.) :) I see there’s a lot of pressure around trying to hold peoples attention, especially for news and social media outlets, because growth and profit seems to be prized above truth and balanced information. (Sensationalism sells!) I also see that division/isolation is simpler than unification, because a focus on division doesn't require me to actually listen and invest, only to shout and re-verify my own beliefs. So if we take a step back, research/neuroscience shows us that our brains are hardwired to focus first on fear and scarcity, because these are the things that can interrupt our existence. It makes total sense from a biological standpoint, but now our nervous systems react to a hyped-up news broadcast the same way we used to react to a bear or other life-threatening circumstance. *A teacher of mine wrote a book called The Evolution Gap (Eric Edmeades), and it speaks to how the wold is moving much faster than our human/neurological evolution can keep up. This also means that (by default) our brains pay less attention to "what works" and what is awe-inspiring, because technically we don’t need to DO anything with those things... they aren't a threat to us. So I'd say that we've created a complex system that is built on capitalising and profiting from our most basic human drive of self-preservation. And the level of awareness needed for us to re-balance the fear-to-love/wonder ratio requires us to begin with rebalancing ourselves. Because you can't "sell" fear to people who no longer HAVE TO respond the hype. (It would also be wonderful if there was a way to overhaul thee whole system, but I just don't see how that happens except through the individual transformation.) Whew...maybe that gives some food for thought? I am also open and curious to what others may think...

    I am not sure if the storytelling of this video is too fast. Did you realize that the attention span of customers is different than in previous years? Is your advice to follow this trend or to emphasize longer stories and videos?

    • @inner-architecture
      @inner-architecture 10 місяців тому

      I can see what you mean…this video is more focused on listing a number of approaches and frameworks than it is on explaining each topic, which is the focus of the course I teach. It’s a bit of a “teaser”. ;) So my advice would be to be clear with your intention of WHY you are communicating, and WHAT you believe would be a value, and go with this. If that means it’s a 30 second short, great. If that means it’s a 15 minute deep dive exploration…Perfect.
