  • Your stories can either inspire more aliveness,
or they can create a living hell.
The choice is up to you.

    | ABOUT REBECCA & INNER ARCHITECTURE |
Originally from Louisiana, I’m grateful to have lived in a number lovely places around the world before landing in Switzerland. After nearly ten years as an Interior Architect and Workplace Design Strategist, I realised that I was being drawn to spend more time with the people and less time with creating physical spaces. In 2012, my curiosity sparked a journey of self-exploration that led to the founding of Inner Architecture - the playfully serious work of creating internal stability for external ease through mindset, communication and storytelling work.
I started creating these Inner Architecture Mini videos to document the learnings from my clients and my own everyday experiences. Every story I was sharing with clients seemed to bring some spark of insight, so I share them with the vision that these stories might inspire you. I’m grateful to do the work that I love every day, and I’m grateful to you for taking the time to connect and share in the learnings.

Thank you for sharing this great video! Let me just add my perception: The worst storyteller in history of mankind and which also rigs your perception is state run TV and ist "news" broadcast.
These daily soap doesn't show anything besides people of high government paygrades seeking for your attention. But the world itself - and every city - has so much beauty to detect.
So unpack your running shoes, or in case of Rebecca take your dog and re-experience cities, nature and its beauties.
As Rebecca said in another video *Listen for the gold*

This is why I believe it’s so important to raise our awareness, build wisdom and remain curious. We can ask questions and continuously choose to actively create ourselves and our stories based on our values and how we want to show up in the world.
When I outsource my thinking without question…I lose connection to self.

I've been thinking about this for some time and often think of writing out a short, positive biography. Here you aware of, or would you consider, some prompts for that sort of exercise.

There are so many different possible places to start, but a great place is with something I call a LifeCV:
A “Life CV” focuses on both personal and professional achievements that are defined by the momentous occasions in one’s life. It could relate to conquering fears, taking risks, overcoming obstacles, etc. This is a way to catalog some of the events that shaped your character and to observe the “red threads” of the values, gifts, passions and skills that drive you in life.
*Be sure to do this exercise when you are well rested and in a calm state. Set aside 1 hour for this exercise, and consider utilizing a number of resources to spark your memories - photographs, old journals, past work CVs, ... anything that will help remind you of past events and life experiences.
For each set of 5 years from birth, as yourself the following questions:
      0-5 years of age:
      1. What were the Significant Life Events?
      2. What were your Key Impact Moments?
      3. What were your Biggest Lessons Learned?
      4. What Key Skills did you Obtain/cultivate?
      5. What are your Biggest Gratitudes?
(Repeat for each section of life until your current age…so 5-10, 10-15, etc)
      * When you reflect back after you are done with the exercise, what trends and observations do you see? What are you most proud of cultivating?
Perhaps this is an interesting place to begin exploring…what do you think?

@@inner-architecture Thanks Rebecca for your focused reply. Apart from the structure, I appreciate the suggestion of 1 hour. That scooping encourages me to just dive in and do it and avoid overthinking.
      You are a generous soul
