Just call and talk to board? We sould be allowed to challenge it i worked in ED tons experience pals acls...they should have a careplan course. Its tricky. One thing I can tell you is RN often come to me for advice as an LPN and I can't count how many errors I prevented.

Man thank you for this video, its just nice to hear from someone who understands how hard it is. Im a new Cna (18 months) and man its a hard ass job. In the nursing homes I generally either have 13 or 20 patients with over three quarters having dementia and requiring total asistance in every aspect of care. The worst days are about once a month when call ins lead me to have 40 residents and a nurse to "help me" even though shes a supervisor also expected to help nurses. The stress is whats getting to me. Im given an overwhelming amount of work which is never completely finished as I dont have the time to brush teeth, cut fingernails, and toilet people when they want to go. Take out reports, charting, meals, and showers and Ive got like four hours. 240 minites divided by 20 residents equals 12 minutes per resident over 8 hours. Its an impossible ask without cutting corners and I dont cut corners. Im getting better at processing and leaving work at work but im just starting to see that I need to move up in the nursing field as this job is breaking my spirit and my back. I dont want to be burnt out to the point of losing my compassion. At this point im venting but if you read this far and you want to be a CNA (in a nursing home). PLEASE take care of YOURSELF first. These long term care facilities dont give a SINGLE FUCK about you.

I know a lot of people are saying don't do it. But I don't have a choice I was hurt earlier in the year and I've been rehabbing and doing okay. I technically lost my job as a result and a job I have now let's just say although it's not too far off I am significantly feeling the loss of income I'm hoping that another job will help correct that but I don't know I have four more prerequisites to do then I have to take my kids and then I'll be scheduled but what I don't know is the times that the program is going to be. It would help provide have family I can depend on and stay with till I finish but I don't it's just me I'm divorced leaving them my ex-wife at the time my wife wouldn't have supported me anyway but I'm going to make this somehow some way

Went back and analyzed what i did wrong. All for nclex:(i think that i was just so tired by the end of it all that i just wanted to be done. I'm hopeful that i can bounce back but right now I just feel like crying 😢 😭💔💔🤕😓😔💔💔😓

LPNs can challenge the board in certain states according to research - like Missouri, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania- but there has not been any that I can see doing it or sharing it on social media - and it says the board can deny you so it must be very hard to challenge them but if many LPNs weee to make a meeting and gather in one of these states than maybe it could change

As a LPN or RN, we've all encountered a graduate with a BSN or ASN and have absolutely no clue how to do care for any patient. Going to school is a great idea. However, becoming a good nurse really comes from taking care of patients and experiencing different situations over time. An LPN that has worked in an acute care settlement should be allowed to challenge the LPN-]RN test.

I became a Nurse at 50 after raising 6 children. I had been out of the corporate world for 20 years. i wanted to end up working in Labor and Delivery after a couple of years in med surge. I did very well in school and was offered a job in Critical Care. My husband had been laid off and we needed benefits. I took it but the charting was brutal and I was too slow at it . 😮. I did well clinically but the stress was so high that I asked to move to med surge . My manager would not let me. She was always kind to me and wanted me to stay in CCU. I was in a new nurse residency and could not transfer without her permission. But I needed a slower pace so I left the hospital after 6 months. I accepted a job in an OBGYN outpatient clinic and will start soon .hope I will do ok. I feel bad that I don’t have more hospital experience but I needed to do what was best for me . I hope we can all be happy with what we do

Sadly for us detention officers, we don’t get to choose our schedules. For me it’s the opposite. I barely have enough time for family, I work almost everyday for 12 hours straight, and we have to hit 240 hours of overtime total to actually get paid for the overtime worked, and to top it off they give us mandatory overtime(if you haven’t hit 240 then you’re working overtime for free. Against your will.) 3 to 4 hours of sleep, and no lunch breaks. It’s corrupted here. I would love to work in the medical field though. From what you’ve talked about in this video it seems to be a very manageable life style.
