This is the best video on what psyc nursing is like 👍. Such valuable information and a true empathetic teacher❤
Thanks for making this video! I’m a second career nursing student who works on a medsurg floor as a PCT. I have realized that I think I might want to be a psych nurse. I used to be an elementary school teacher, and I had multiple kids throughout the years who should have been receiving psych services. Maybe adolescent psych is for me.
You're very welcome. I worked mental health for years. Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics. Substance abuse, STAR. Let me know if you have any questions. It's a great field for the right nurse.
@@NurseMoneyTalkplease L&D nurse here! Thinking of going to psych what do do recommend?
I’m a behavioral health nurse and I love it ! Each day is different as you don’t really know what gonna go down on the unit: I work on a primarily detox floor so I do get to use some nursing skills ,
What is the difference between Behavioral and Psych nursing?
are you still working at the same place ? :) i'm a new grad nurse, starting off at a behavioral health hospital + med surg unit, i am excited and nervous to start but i know the Lord will be with me and help me in my nursing career and to take care of these patients! how are you?
@@tropicallymixed. Its the same thing
@@jesusiskingofmyheart Yes I am. Don't be nervous! its a great specialty always something new !
@@jesusiskingofmyheart Congratulations to my fellow Believer in Christ!! Hope it all works out for you!
So trust n ty I work in psych for almost 20 years as a technician and about to start nursing school hopefully this year 🙏🏽💯❤️so important everything u said
The tagging in/out is so important!! It's teamwork & we all need it 🩷
Agreed!!!
as a new grad nurse, starting off in psych, this video was so helpful! thank you :)
how is it so far? same situation here
@@maynardcortes1493 so far so good! i really think it depends on the hospital and coworkers/work environment too! i've had 3 shifts so far, with a preceptor & she's been so kind and patient with me! i'll be honest, i'm a slow learner and it takes me awhile and a lot of repetition to learn, so it's been a blessing to be here :)
@@jesusiskingofmyheart great! thats good to know, im also starting this week with a preceptor
@@maynardcortes1493 How exciting! You got this! :)
@@jesusiskingofmyheart thanks so much :)
This was so on point!

Lol, work intake across the country...
oh i already do some of these as an autistic person (masking and flat affect will come in clutch yesssss) im more motivated now to go into mental health nursing thank you for this video!
I find being autistic is an advantage. I find I am able to take in information and be analytical and keep emotions out of it.
