A project after my own heart xxx
Sadly my climbing roses have more or less finished now but my runner beans are in flower so fingers crossed for an abundant harvest! Loving the zingy colours, we all need a bit of brightness at the moment. Looking forward to some lazy summer days in the weeks to come. Look forward to seeing how the bowl progresses.
ooo I love runner beans, I'd grow them just for their flowers! Here's to some lazy summer days...and some sunshine to go with the showers! xx
I’m the same with the garden, I don’t know much about it, but I love it ❤I should be chopping some things back now, but it’ll leave bare bits, so I’m putting it off 😊 looking forward to seeing how the bowl evolves, and I love the orange and pink sample, it’s really zingy xx ❤
I know, it's all a balance in the garden isn't it! It's amazing how things can grow back tho', nature is just so abundant at this time of year. Zingy is a great word, love it! xx
I know what you mean about eclipses. The eclipses and solar flares this year have been really rough on me and I am fighting the dark. Astrologers say be can affect some more than others I am hoping it will be other soon.
they have been tough esp on some folk, but it will be worth it in the long run for all. I trust you'll find your way through, sending light and love xx
@@StitchandCreate thank you so much for the light and love! Jun 16th I fell and broke my left collarbone so I am unable to enjoy my 2 loves gardening and sewing. It’s been a bit rough to keep my chin up but watching you “mess about” makes me smile. Thank you for sharing your journey with us ❤️
Hate making garments because of school but love free stitching and mending now. So creative.
so much more fun not being at school any more haha!😂so glad to hear of your love for stitching now! xx
This really a really cute idea, lovely, I think I'd do it by hand since I can't seem to get machine embroidery right
well you should see my pattern cutting! I admire your dressmaking skills! I think with free machining it's really just relax and play. But also practice makes it better and easier. I have a wee video in my beginners playlist might help? have fun whatever!
Beautiful labels! I just love it! Thanks for this idea Emma !
thanks Helene, they're so much fun to do, but watch out, they're addictive! xx
They look great! 😊😊
thank you, they were a delight to do! Sure that your fabrics and techniques would make some lovely ones! xx
Love these labels - so much fun! ♥
thanks Shirley, something different, and...I finished them!! My duvets have never been so organised! xx
I love these labels, so sweet and practical.
thank you! and they were such a joy to play with and make!
They're lovely. I hated needlework at school but now spend most of my day at the sewing machine playing.
hurrah, so glad to hear that you weren't put off!! and now we can do it how we like!😂
Ah yes! I had garment sewing at school and the seam allowance had to be spot on or rip it out. I now do wonky on purpose!!! Love your lovely labels 💙
ooo that's so reminicent! I made a dress (not sure how!), and a very sad shoe bag! go you, wonky is the way to happiness!😂
They are lovely, simple and beautiful. I also hated needlework lessons when I was at school, the need to get everything neat, and straight was completely beyond me 😂 how things have changed, I love stitching, and everything is wonky. Love your videos, looking forward to next week, thank you Emma xx ❤
aren't we lucky we weren't put off, and now it's ok to be as wonky as we please!! thanks so much for being here and sharing the fun! xx

What a lovely idea, the blue and white looks really fresh, thank you for sharing xx ❤
This is a lovely piece Emma, even more so with a little piece from your friend included. Xx
Love the idea of labels, if these are for linens/duvets….it might be nice to match the label fabric to the duvet inside so you can tell immediately what is in the bag. 🥰
great idea! and it all makes life more joyful...and easier! xx
Thank you for the inspiration and I feel as though I'm gong to be playing around a bit more with fabric and stitch - usually paper, collage and paint for me ♥. Always a joy filled experience!
mmm I love your paper, paint and collage vibe too, maybe add fabric and stitch??! xx
Love, love the blues💙
there's just something about them isn't there?! xx
I keep thinking of you opening your linen cupboard on bed change day and seeing your little labels. Tiny bits of joy! I love using small pieces of fabric, beads and buttons to make gift tags. I stick mine onto card and add a metal grommet.
you put that beautifully Janie, little bits of joy! love the sound of your creations too! lucky recipients! xx
Its good to see someone sewing up the holes as I'm soooo sick of the ripped jeans so called fashion and will be glad when it's done, I really don't understand in the middle of winter people getting around in the jeans with not just holes in the knees but several slashed holes the length of the leg, also denim shorts and skirts all torn and threads hanging off them, they pay extra for clothes that look worn out!!!
people probably thought the same about the mini skirt...or the farthingale! trouble is all the rebellious fashion has been done!😂maybe this video will help reverse the trend as you say! x
Love this, thanks for sharing Emma! I particularly like the seed heads patch ❤
thanks Shirley, it's a bit of fun, and common sense in a mad world! I maybe need to look out a deck chair, but not sure where I'd plug in!😉
@@StitchandCreate 😀
I’ve been patching my jeans forever…but more recently I have joined the visible mending theme and use bright colors.
nice one Lu, love it! What fun you can have! I have stitched some with colourful threads/fabrics too, this was my more sober 'blues collection'!! 😂
My grandma always said, "A stitch in time saves nine." I too love mending and thrifting.
it sure does, if only I remembered it in time! That's lovely to hear, it's so satisfying isn't it! 🙂
You've inspired me to patch the knee on my jeans, I had previously darned them but that is now failing. I'm going to use a bit of denim fabric with free motion stitching that I've trimmed from the edge of a notebook cover I'm making!!
Brilliant! Impressed with you darning them in the first place, bet they'd look lovely with all those edgey bits and some stitching.xx
Fashion in USA right now by some designers are patched jeans. You are right in vogue.
gosh, imagine that! Maybe it's something in the air! 😂
Yep, Visible mending is now ‘on trend’
Lovely,and practical,thank you for sharing xx ❤❤
thank Mandy, a bit of fun and now I have jeans to wear again! xx
Loving your work ! I do have a question regarding how often you change your needles on your embellisher?
thank you! 🙂 when I break them! haha! they seem to last a long time to be honest x
That is lovely Emma. In the beginning with your house I thought a creamy colored fabric would help it rescind a little but after you added the roof it just absolutely fitted into the landscape. Love the outcome and the seed heads in particular. I also thought I would have added a little more texture by putting some special very thin fabric/thread into the bobbin and then sewing them from the back to create raised seeds on the front. But who knows I may have done one and then not liked it................I love pieces that just evolve and then all of a sudden you love the piece yourself and that is what matters - it is creative, makes you happy and gives you a feeling of accomplishment.
beautifully put! I love the idea of adding seeds as texture, maybe that would be good on a bigger scale version too! always more we can do, but only the one lifetime haha! and you are so right, being creative whatever you make is such a blessing xx
Wonderful transformation! I did wonder to start with but you were absolutely right to do this. I especially love the way the stems extend beyond the bottom edge 🥰😊
It was quite a journey...and a risk, but it just got better and better, I'm so glad it worked out and you got it!! And yes, those daring little stems...so reckless!😂
Nice!
thank Jodeen!🙂
Really like the addition of the house and I love how changing the roof colour brought the whole picture together. You're so right, going with the flow is the only way to be now, I've stopped trying to control anything too!
it's funny how things work out, and the feeling you get, The red roof just relaxed the piece somehow. Go you, it's the only way (even if it ain't nice or comfortable!!) We're beautifully on our paths, but together! xx
@@StitchandCreate ❤️
I love your work and I am always fascinated by the accuracy of the colours you use, your work is always a real poem for me. Thank you so much for sharing your vision and your art!
thank so much Helene, that's a beautiful comment! I love to share with you, it means so much!😍
I love the addition of the house and, although I agree that the final colour suits the piece, I loved the pop of the purple.
I know, it just gave some pzazz didn't it! Maybe next time...😂
I wondered what had happened last week 😅 The finished piece looks beautiful, the little house just completes it, thank you for your lovely relaxing videos, looking forward to seeing you next week xx ❤
my pleasure is to create and share it with you Mandy! Happy days 😍
I love it and it so special that you've been able to include something your friend made.
thank you so much, these things mean a lot don't they! memories of friends are so important x
It’s looking beautiful Emma, and your garden is lovely, just my type of space, thank you for sharing xx ❤
thank you Mandy, so glad you get it!! xx
Just found you 🎉 new Subbie 😊 love everything stitch especially slow stitching and crochet. Gorgeous art Thankyou for welcoming me into your happy place xx lisaxx
welcome Lisa, so lovely to have you here! It's all about fun and relaxation here! 😍
I love the natural wildness of your garden! Also loving the story behind the yarn you are using, to use this in this piece of work is a beautiful tribute to your creative friend ❤.
thank you, we are so lucky to live here, and I love 'weeds'! Yes, it was lovely to use the yarn, she was a lovely quilt friend who helped me get to know people when we moved here. There's a beautiful connection isn't there with creating!
I liked the original piece, it was nice, I LOVE what you did to the original! Amazing what texture does; I mess around with all sorts of fiber stuff - spinning, needlework, sewing, knitting, quilting, weaving. Texture is always paramount.😄
Love the browns with the yellows. It gives the piece perspective
that's good way to put it Helen, it just feels right somehow, so maybe that's why! 😍
Wow, being so brave you produced such a beautiful piece. The colours just sing now.
aw thanks so much Christine, it paid off didn't it! I just couldn't stick with the old!!😂
Perfect new colours! I love how you create the new in and with the old! Thanks for that idea !
thank you Helene! and you can mix old and new...or let the new take over!! it's up to you! 😂
Wow! what a difference your changes made can't wait to see your next video Thanks for sharing
my pleasure, thanks for being here! change can be good! x
I love how you've changed this piece. Gorgeous colour. I'm all for letting go and honouring where we are now 🙌. So exciting!
isn't it just! I wonder where we will go! and thank you, the colours come as if by magic once I start playing...💕
Wasn’t sure about the new sky but once you put the frame around the piece, I was hooked. So fun watching your creative process. Thanks,Emma. Be well. 🤎💚💛
it made it come together didn't it! amazing how that can happen, and it's so much fun just seeing what comes next! xx
My hubby’s family says, “ The price of eggs in Paris!” 😂 Love the changes to the piece and can’t wait until next week. Also love your chatting about change and doing what feels right for you now. I am also feeling the same about most things these days.
I love that! these sayings are so funny and where they must come from who knows! glad yu're feeeling the change too, it's exciting times I think! xx
What a difference those colours make, it looks more dramatic, and together now. I know how you feel about patchwork, I can’t seem to cut,or stitch anything straight 😅 thank goodness for free machining, and hand stitch ❤look forward to next week, take care xx ❤
it makes such a difference doesn't it, and I love that you're a wild creator too! have a fun week! xx
Great video today. I love the idea of revisiting pieces as starting points to get to another place rather using a blank space. I totally agree with that concept, it is so freeing!
so glad you get it! It made sense to me but it's a bit random covering up an old piece!!
Looking forward to seeing this one progress xx
Hi Michelle, thank you! Nice to see you here! Hope things are good with you 😍
