Every so often you find a game that gives you everything. This. is. that. game. It's like every emotion in one. Easy to pick up, frustratingly hard to master, awkward, fast-paced, thumb punishing, catchy, addictive, stressful... need I go on? I just can't seem to put it down and unlike most games on the Amiga, it seems to run at double speed. I bloody love it. A full review and interview with N...

Amiga GOTEK Guide - How to run and save games from USB - Setup - Flash Floppy Menu
Loved my A500 to bits... Got A1200 and loved also to bits... (it was faster in raytracing, fractal scenery stuff and even in my favorite game Formula 1 Grand Prix)... I loved it... actually got some fastram (2Mb I think first) and there again it was WOW this is just awesome! after that I got the (budget) Blizzard 68030EC(no MMU) with 68882 @ 40 Mhz and with (again budget) 4 Mb memory (for a total of 6 Mb 4 fast and 2 chip)... But man that was sick at the time... I loved everything about it. If I remember correctly my friend got a similar one but with the full 68030 and 4 Mb fast (or did he get 8? can't remember) at 50 Mhz but he did not opt for the FPU. So in many things we did not notice really that extra 10 Mhz (except benchmarks) and for the Raytracing, and Fractal animation and stuff he lagged behind... So I though he did a bad investment... Loved that I "only" had total 6 Mb RAM but could multitask the hell out of it... often ran raytracing, music stuff (MED Soundstudio), fractal scenery animation and also did Dpaint stuff and programming at the same time and just did Amiga+M to switch resolutions and screens to check/do stuff and it NEVER ever felt slow... AmigaOS/Excec priority scheduling worked like treat... Most music stuff never actually did take that much CPU time, my DPaint in the background did not take any CPU time, my slow hacking and thinking alot never took any CPU time on my programming IDE... the CPU/FPU though had to share it's resources with Raytraing an animation or static screen together with a fractal Scenery animation... But it never ever felt "slow/laggy"... because of priority... Programming IDE felt fast as hell and whenever I actually did anything (compile, macro's, copy pasted a lot and so on and on) it had the most priority of course and so on and on... Even my pretty new computer feels slow as hell a lot of times, just doing 2 tasks (some image manipulation and browsing the web... and now I have 16 CPU's and 5333 times more memory (32 GB, vs 6 MB) and so on and on... but it just does not feels as fast... it can turn sluggish when ever... Amiga never did unless it had a reason... :-)
Would be a “so bad it’s good” game to play if on Steam or GOG.
Still it’s a ripoff from “Wings Of Fury” as gameplay looks the same.
the best Amiga game. Period.
when you have finished using a game/app...how do you get back to the drive to choose a new one?
Gutted I missed this.
Not to worry mate - Meets will be Quarterly now. SPAG 4: Trapdoor details coming soon!
@@Retro32thank you
B b b but!? Where are the iconic voices?!!!!
The Way of the Exploding Fist (1985) on Amstrad CPC, then International Karate+ (1988) and Full Contact (1990) on the Amiga. Vibing hard!
Era bellissimo questo gioco , avevo l'amiga 1200 e ci ho messo un po' a capire come funzionasse , una volta interpretati i comandi era una figata di gioco
Thanks for the benchmark !
You can really see Directors Cut being that bridge between the original worms and Worms 2 on the PC.
Please how can I get this game on android device?
Always felt this game would be better at 640x480 or with smaller graphics, it was just a little to hard to control that close to the screen (or could just have been my bad reactions).
Ah, the forgotten words game. Great fun. Always loved the way there was a background holding the land together, but real big hits would also blow through that too.
what mod file is that
wow cool I knew knew this even existed
I can't understand why you'd hide the cute case in a larger case! Each to their own. The rest of us will wait for the Maxi! Q1 2025!
This game is so gorgeous
This is the second time I see a player react to the "Don't flip!" command on the Mean Machines table with manic flipping.
Get the tiniest quiet fan and you can overclock the Pi Zero 2 to even higher levels then a standard 3A.
Great!!!
do you have a video How to copy from a floppy disk to gotek?
Another Commodore mistake ! A1200 should have been released with at least 2mb Fast Ram.
I was never able to add more ram to my A1200 back then... that would've made it a really decent computer.
Commodore could simply added a simm slot in the a1200 main board and allow us to buy a much ram as we needed...
Everything takes space and adds cost though. This way, we had room to add trapdoor cards, and for those that wanted that included accelerators that wouldn't have fitted in (many were tight) if the mobo had to be that little bit longer for a SIMM socket. Plus Commodore were on brink in the early 90s, they needed to keep costs down.
I think the best design changes Commodore could have done is dump PCMCIA (cost cutting by removing the socket, components and simplifying the motherboard and not forgetting the license fee) replacing it with an second IDE, not go with the 2.5" internal HDD instead the 3.5" (which was far cheaper, faster and available with vastly more storage capacity) and not put a CPU (or the wasted FPU area) in the A1200. It would have forced shops to compete in the upgrade arena much like the PC pushing for higher specs at lower costs. This would have removed the memory problem some of the accelerators had with the PCMCIA. Between removal of the PCMCIA, CPU and FPU off the MB it could have been reconfigured to leave more space for the CPU slot allowing for more flexible designs. Nice pipe dream.
Good sound ❤❤
Thanks mate. We had all the demos daisy chained through the PVMs, the audio was being pushed over Bluetooth to a beast of a Sony portable speaker.
no info about what to install on the SD card?
I’m regularly blown away by the Amiga demo scene. WOW.
Mother of god, that's sexy
cool video.ive not long had my gotek and I'm having a problem when saving a game or career in SWOS it will work ok then suddenly after a while i get disk error come up for no reason. its happened twice now the first time was half way through a season in career mode and the last time i had completed the full season in career mode saved it and the next time i came to play it the save disk said disk error. any idea's why? has anyone in the comments had this? or does any one play swos with a gotek and have it saving ok i cant work out why it does it
useful video but the background tune is too loud and annoying - sorry.
The lo-fi rock riffs are SICK! Luv it
I have one problem, and maybe someone can help. I have Amiga 500 with internal GOTEK drive. Gotek works BUT boots from slot 1. That means, when I load slots, for example, 19.20,21 etc. with some multi disk game, I hit F10 to save and reboot but instead of booting slot 19, GOTEK boots slot 1. Can anyone help me how to force GOTEK to boot from any selected slot and not just slot 1 .
hope somebody does a (very) longplay of this game some time, I had a bugged copy of the CD32 version where in a late mission you're supposed to protect your CO's white van from attacking enemies, but the bug causes it to act like an enemy vehicle which shoots missiles all over the place, destroying your airbase! you can stop it by blowing it up, but whether you do or not the mission wouldn't end so I never got past it. I later managed to browse the CD with workbench and was able to see the end sequence, but I'd really like to see all the story missions leading up to the finale
I was extremely disappointed with the AGA version because the frame rate was much lower.
could anyone tell me what the resistor on the u12, cxa1145m chip is for i keep seeing people that have this done but can never work out why I'm a bit of a newbie lool
Will this ever see the light of day?
I know it would have made it more expensive, but leaving out FastRam from the stock 1200 was a huge mistake by Commodore (among others), it would have made the stock machine much more impressive and capable for both games and productivity, but they cheaped out. same goes for the CD32, adding just 512kb of FastRam to the 1200 and CD32 would have basically doubled the machines' performance.
Came here after listening to the Marcus Dyson interview on the Maximum Level Up Podcast, explaining how they filmed this in the Team17 warehouse in wakefield, after a pub discussion. Episode 109 - Marcus Dyson Interview.
That makes me feel old.
I am actually more in favour of painting casing for the amiga and c64 etc rather than the retrobrite method which i consider a short term solutiion....
What version of Lotus III is this? It is running much smoother in mountain section than the versions I have seen previously.
I am going to get one of these for my amiga500...does it have to be installed inside the casing.?...if i get extended data ribbon and power lead can i run it from outside the amiga...thanks.
You can buy an external gotek with everything you need. If you want to install it inside the case you need to take the board out of the gotek housing, buy a 3d printed bracket for it.
Hi there and thanks for the video. I am wondering how you got doom to run without an FPU? I was unable to get my LC 060 to play doom without using a virtual FPU and even at that, when I installed the FPU it ran like a slide show. The only way I seem to get Doom to work is when I use a 060 with an FPU (I've two 060s you see). Weirdly I have always heard Doom doesn't require the FPU so that is even stranger. I was able to over clock my LC060 to 100mhz as well but hates some of the Inbetween speeds.
Funnily enough, I watched your video before I read your description, and was also thinking a game that looked pretty good, for the time, but really wasn't fun to play. As if the day time levels weren't bad enough, the night time were horrible. We ended up turning the brightness up to full, in order to try and get through those ones. Does make me wonder how games with terrible controls got through the testers.
