Full restoration! This beauty deserves it! Especially as it seems to work well incl. Floppy. How on earth can somebody torture that machine in such a bad way. Looks absolutly disgusting! 🤮
Full restoration! I picked a 500+ up for dirt cheap but the leaking battery has destroyed parts of the board. I’m determined to repair it but a little out of my depth. Time for some research. Thanks for the video! Will keep an eye out for updates. Followed the channel
It's Rev 5 motherboard, not a Rev 6A motherboard. I have a dead A500 Rev 5 from my school friend and I manage to figure out the dead PSU and replace it. I brought a near-empty Rev 6A motherboard from a German vendor for about 60 euros and re-populated it from Rev 5 motherboard e.g. two CIAs, Denise, Gray, Paula, and A501 512KB add-on card. The German vendor gave the free MC68000 CPU and KS1.3 ROM for free. I bought ECS Agnus, KS ROM 3.14 , Witcher 508i, and 32 GB Flash storage for it. My parents have bought A500 Rev 6A (1989) which my parents later traded for A3000/030 at 25Mhz (1992) which then traded for Pentium 150 based PC (late 1996).
I am actually more in favour of painting casing for the amiga and c64 etc rather than the retrobrite method which i consider a short term solutiion....
Nice find..I love how its still has the side expansion cover.. This is the 1st thing that seems to disapear on every Amiga 500 I own !!
Give it a beautiful clean, I'm sure all the dirt prevented yellowing and I don't really like retrobriting
I’m hoping so! Not a massive fan of it either tbh. Not tried it on any of my machines - seen too many horror stories
Amiga 500 Black Edition!!
Still rocking it 🎉❤

Sorry to hear that man. Those damn batteries in the 500+ were the worst idea ever. Good luck with your repair and thanks for the follow :) Viva Amiga!

A500s are bomb proof

Full restoration on both please. She needs to survive.
I think it’s definitely the way to go!
