24 Hours To Rebuild My BMW E46!
Time's ticking...Just 24 hours to REBUILD a BMW E46!
This BMW E46 has some rust on the rocker panel, and to stop it from getting as bad as my E39, we’re replacing the whole panel. But that’s not all! In just 24 hours, we also need to fix a knocking sound in the rear that’s been bothering me for 4 years, plus replace the front suspension struts. But along the way there are so many obstacles we need to overcome. Can we get it all done in 24 hours? Watch to find out!

This 90s BMW E39 was abandoned 7 years ago and is in rough shape. But in this video, we're rebuilding it and taking a road trip to BMW Headquarters. I'm not a mechanic, and this is my first time doing things like rust repair, painting, or even diagnosing the no-start issue on the M52TU. But in one year, we completely transformed this E39 and got it back on the road. I've learned so much along t...

LOL tow eye cover was a issue for TUV? The inspector is an IDIOT
Silver grease lube is your friend. Slather everything in it like wheel hubs, the battery tie down etc. it stops rust from forming
Green coolant in a bmw lol
You have a suction leak
awesome video
nice job greetings from serbia
At 1 hour and 27 minutes there is a big problem the bmw has blinkers💁🏻♂️
Great job bro I’m waiting for a new project video Good luck❤
When doing similar projects in the future, you might want to look into "cavity wax". That's the stuff they spray from the factory in basically every hole imaginable on the car. It's good rust prevention.
I am plagued with the same clunk in my 328ci. It has been 5 years now and still the clunk has not desapeared. I changed nearly all the bushings with poly one. My next plan is to swap a 6 speed from a diesel, so i'll change the flywheel, clutch, driveshaft and diff.
Cingrats 🎉 awsome job! Im going to revive my z4 2.5l tomorrow
Respekt! Andere hätten den weggeschmissen. Grüße aus‘m Bezirk Tulln
Good
Why is it even a thing
I have a very rusty e39, a 2003 540i M Sport. It rusted so bad that my rear jacking points failed! Im afraid my car may be unrepairable, and the rust worked its way up to the doors and unibody. If you have any suggestions or tips, please let me know!
Lil tip for next time don't sand with your fingers cause it will create an uneven surface use a wooden block for those little spots
Should have just used a spring compressor
Nah bro that sht is musty dusty and rusty foreal
For fuck sake your way of pressing the wheel hub off is genius. Better then using a iron block on a rod method(slide hammer).
thanks to you i declined my dream
great job.great car choice.these are a great cars and you are very lucky to have one.take your time,it will not be in vein.i have an e39 540i and im in love with it for 15 yrs.this aint no mopar junk.these cars have class and tons of style and go gogo....good luck my friend.
well done brother! as a fellow BMW enthusiast you are a definition of doing a great job in saving those rusted BMW!
That is expensive fix that not worth it but you are making youtube content
Man you deserve way more views! The amount of effort you put in your videos is admirable!
Thank you man :)
the clunk could be the rear diff bushing. Im shure youll find the issue keep going
Hallo :) Thanks. I guess it could be. It is a PU bushing, but also the hardest one you can get. Maybe this Bushing just amplifies the knocking sound.
I have this car! Love this video, exactly what I was looking for, brilliant :-)
Thanks man :) How's your Mazda?
More e39 content don’t keep it stock😭
Hey Ivan, Thanks for your comment! :) There will be a lot more content coming. Modifying it costs a lot of money, so right now it isn’t possible, but I have a few things in mind for the future. ;)
🎉
🎉
Great video my friend. I guess that clunking noise could be from the wheel bearings. I am so curious about the noise. Can't wait to see the next video.
Hey, my friend :) It could be possible, but I replaced both bearings two years ago. I'm also really motivated to find out the reason for this noise...
keep up the great work, its amazing how much work you put intoo all those vidoes, congrats! <3
Hey Lord ^^ Thanks man, I really appreciate that :)
Amazing work, I admire your stamina! However, I am 72 now, so I would expect a difference! I have a 2003 325Ci M Sport, beautiful car in rust-free condition. I have had it 3 years now, and it has had the same rear-end clunk as yours since I bought it. Previous history from a garage inspection noted "noise from prop shaft". I have had a new clutch and flywheel, had the prop shaft fully re-conditioned, have replaced one drive shaft which had excessive play, someone before me has replaced all the differential bushes. It still clunks. In desperation I have bought a supposedly-good used differential which I have yet to fit. I will watch your channel with interest to see if you cure this noise.
Thank you so much, Bob! I really appreciate your comment. I always love hearing other stories. It’s surprising how many other E46 owners are dealing with the same issue. It's almost like it's a normal thing for these cars! If you end up replacing your differential, I’d love to hear if it fixes the problem. Please stay safe :)
Keep going keep strong <3
Nie maluj sprayem tylko podkładami 2k nawet z pędzla więcej wytrzyma.
Thanks for the tip, I will do that in the future :)
@@TheE46Guy e36 2.8 coupe teraz polecam ;)
dude you did a good job with little experience, wow, well done
Thank you Keith! I appreciate your kind comment :)
Can't believe you didn't give up when doin the rust. Great job! What was the chemical you put on the headlamps after sanding them?
Thank you :) It was something like this: amzn.to/471tPaF
its really great job ,, i feel interesting in every minute of this video even it not my specialist ....
Thank you man :)
Nice work bro..
How much took this restoration of the BMW
Hey Ali, money-wise way too much, and time-wise also way too much ^^. It took about a year.
Dirty handschoe😂
what software do you guys use to read fault codes with your laptop?
Hey VillageSkater :) I used INPA for reading the fault codes ;)
@@TheE46Guy Thanks man.
Good Job man You did well Even the coolant joke was amazing 😂keep it up ❤
