Um richtig damit spinnen zu können, braucht man einen extra Haken vorne oder einen extra Aufsatz. Nur der Stab funktioniert nicht richtig, da man nur eine Hand frei hat, um die Wolle nachzuführen. Wie dick das Garn wird, hängt davon ab, wie man die Fasern aus dem Bündel Wolle oder Flachs nachziehen kann. Das geht besser, wenn beide Hände frei sind.
