Slightly miss spoke about the multithreading, checking that on/off depends on your computer. I found the game to be really choppy when I had that unchecked so I left it on. Hope that helps goodluck. It's been pretty smooth sailing so far with no crashes but it could def happen again.

    I had quite a lot of crashes on campaing... for some reason my PC heats up while playing this on medium... but high it works fine. No idea why it did that... but it dropped me to desktop before i "figured" it out. I am assuming its the heat, why it heats up.. NO idea. PC is quite good condition and no problems with other games of this generation. ITS this EA stuff.

    it's not your computer it is server side latency. When loaded into a map if I'm getting more than 22ms (your ping may vary) I select respawn at checkpoint and do that repeatedly until I get on a "server" that is 22 ms and then the map works perfect and it stays at 22ms. You can't tell me this is any issue with my computer if it magically works fine sometimes and sometimes it's f'ed up, but it's all around latency.

    Just an FYI, crashes are an AMD issue from what I have experienced and gathered. I have both an intel and an AMD setup. Zero crashes on my intel and multiple crashes on my AMD. Same is true with a few friends.

      Can't confirm that. I experienced numerous crashes on my intel machine. I had to install BES to limit the CPU-Usage of POE2 to 95% instead of 100%. Switching to Vulkan has also helped. With those 2 combined my PC wouldn't freeze up completely anymore. It's just the random restart during a loading screen that is left now, but that is a kinda rare thing, so I am happy with that.

    I used engine-multi threading off for a few weeks now, town fps are terrible but instances generally are mostly fine for me unless a ton of mobs are on screen, for now i'd rather deal with less fps than frequent crashs at least while im still doing campaign. didn't notice a difference with Vulcan still got the same crashes weirdly.

    I am on windows 11, unfortunately had hte 24h2 update and can't uninstall since its been too long. I've tried about 15 diferent supposed fixes since day one. I'd take crashing at this point but my big issues is the game literally freezes my machine up. This causes me to power cycle the machine which is just too annoying to keep wanting to play.

    Aaaandy, I want my dopamine and I need it now! It’s the puff from R1 pools yesterday, I admit to being a low level player and want to apologize for the bad attitude I gave you in response to facing your playstyle. Playing patient will get you wins, but then you’re sacrificing your own dopamine hits; I imagine this is why so many people play like chimps and why I reacted so passionately to it…it’s a little foreign to me. I only come to this one tournament each year and I come amped out of my mind, so of course I want to hit you, that’s why I’m playing the game and that’s why I drove out all the way out here lol. For me personally, and I’m sure it’s this way with a lot of “lower level” players, I want to play the game in a fun way more than I want to win an early pools game in tournament before getting crushed in the next round. I was kind of a bitch yesterday, and wanted to tell you that you played a hell of a game Andy. Playing you felt as challenging as playing Plup’s fox to me cuz I couldn’t catch up to your movement which forced me to commit to whiffing an attack or leaving the encounter. I might’ve tried kicking the missiles, but idk exactly how that interaction works in a way that I don’t take damage 🤷‍♂️ Good luck today man!

      You know I didn't even see this until I got back from G9 and on desktop. I always wear an earbud on the ear thats closest to my opponent so I didn't quite hear everything you said. Something about camping. I wear the earbud like that on purpose for that kind of situation. It helps me not break focus in the game because I don't want to hear outside stuff. But hey man I really appreciate you writing that thoughtful response. It's all good man. No feelings hurt or anything. In tourney I just play the game, and thats how samus v puff goes. Just playing the MU. You can't just allow me to build charge shot so freely. You can dodge missiles by just moving around in the air puff can dodge and weave. Also you needed to threaten grab. Thank you for the movement compliment! I'll see you around tho. Genesis is my favorite major to go to.

    Got into Smash with Slippi. Just playing unranked presented me with some hard ego walls. I'm naturally a very self critical person, to the point that I'm unfair to myself. And I had to take breaks from Melee, because sometimes I just don't play as good as I could be playing and I know that. So I get frustrated, make more mistakes, get more frustrated and so on. I think since 2020 I've got a lot better at dealing with these emotions. When I can't deal with them, I just accept that it's not my day and close Slippi. I found that not engaging with something that makes me feel bad is the fastest way for me to be ready to engage with it again. Other than that, I learned to see Melee as this really difficult thing. Most of the time, loosing makes me motivated to learn and get better. Sometimes I play as many games as possible against someone who is really really good on unranked, even though I'm loosing every game. It's a learning experience. I try to keep my ego as small as possible. The bigger the ego, the less room for errors there is (without feeling bad). It's weird, this game has the capability to make me feel more mad than every videogame I've ever played in my life, but has also the capability to make me feel better than in every video game I've ever played in my life. I guess the higher the highs, the lower the lows.

    • @ssbmAndy
      @ssbmAndy Рік тому

      Yeah I hear you. Melee is just really hard and one way I view it, is like it's a self journey. Melee has a weird way to reveal aspects about ourselves we didn't really know existed(?). Most def has high highs and low lows. It also def is a mechanism for dissolving layers of your ego for sure, and I'd say ego gets in the way of personal growth. BUT, I will say that having 0% (?) ego can hurt because I find it effects my confidence in a negative way, and its important to play with confidence the higher elo I go, but that could just be me. Thanks for your response.

    Master of Movement is a quantifiable threshold. We measure it in every match we watch. You can see when someone has mastered movement by looking at certain statistics. First and in my opinion the most important, hitting every cardinal. For boxx players they don’t have to worry about this, but for gcc players this is the fastest way to make your character move quicker. Second, never miss an L cancel. This is best applied to SHFFL. Next, wavelands. Mastering movement is impossible without heavily accelerated platform movement. The list goes on and on, but you get the point. Mastering movement is merely an application of all of these principles simultaneously. Create a spreadsheet out of your attempts/successes/failures of the each category and you can quantify it.

    • @ssbmAndy
      @ssbmAndy 2 роки тому

      Sure I see your point but I don't think that's the whole picture. Say you get all your data on a player's success rate on all the possible movement tech and it comes to 100%. Meaning they can do that specific movement any time they want. Ok. But this game is also about knowing WHEN do to do the tech and having the game sense to know which tech to do. I could just go for a bunch of wave lands and have great plat movement but I will be giving up space and will be susceptible to being sharked, so then are they really a master of movement in those moments? I would argue no.

    • @Jonathondelemos
      @Jonathondelemos 2 роки тому

      @@ssbmAndy I think you are talking about positional play. Being a good positional player isn’t the same as being a master of movement(tactical) in my opinion. I’m honestly not sure though and am curious what you think

    • @ssbmAndy
      @ssbmAndy 2 роки тому

      @@Jonathondelemos But wavelands are both a position thing and a movement thing. Ok I'll use a different example. A player has 100% success rate in cardinal dashes, but what if their dash back gets read by the opponent? Was that dash back necessary? Do you see my point, just because you can execute something at 100% success doesn't mean it was a tech that was needed at that time/place.

      Depends on the mistake because some are more severe than others. Missing an L cancel is something I can shrug off quick because I know to just do it better next time. @@fishcrimes Would recommend being able to look at your opponent and practice reacting to what comes next, this becomes easier obviously with experience, but something like missing a wavedash can be really easy to deal with if you recognise how they're coming in, you can think of your defensive reaction options like if you can land in time to CC, or if theyre about to come in with a strong move like knee you already know to DI. Having reactive defensive options you can kind of lean on sometimes frees up your mind to be able to "flow" back into your gameplan because there IS A BRANCH there rather than panic. This can be exploited if you only have one fallback option but you're in disad, so you can't afford to be picky. And at least you tried, which feels better than "dying just to a mistake"
