Yes, they are so pretty. We had alternating pink and white ones along my driveway in CA. I believe they are a Mediterranean plant. Also, it never occurred to me that they don’t have Coffee Bean shops in other parts of the country. It was my fav chain over Sbux. They have a seasonal tea called Winter Dream that is SO good!

It just goes to show that there are likely few truly "bad" products. There are products that don't work for you, but they probably work for someone else. And yeah. That foundation is just too odd. It's like a bunch of worms in water, to be completely frank about it. I returned it on Amazon but even they didn't want it back. So now it's just here. LOL

Just in case you didn't see it yet, the eye primers are with the primers in the primers, powders, setting spray video. What a great idea on the index card idea! I am such a paper and pencil gal. I thought about keeping notes in my spreadsheet, but I know I'll never look at it. LOL I can't keep a digital calender either. Not and make it to any appts. It has to be front and center, paper version, on my kitchen island or I'm lost.

I am feeling really good about the decisions I'm making and focusing more on what I have than the next new thing. When I am ready to start spending again after my no-buy, I will have a much better idea of what I have in my collection, where holes might be, and what I really like vs what I don't.

That is a really good strategy for foundations, especially high end where the financial risk is greater. Thanks for your thoughts on the filming. I knew this one would be long, and I thought of trying to find ways of cutting it down, but I really wanted to keep in my thoughts and discoveries as I handled every product in a category. I had some aha moments that would not have happened without this process.

LOL on the duochrome. Those pencils are the best deal at the drugstore. You just have to be careful about when you bought them because they last for-freakin-ever!

I'm so glad the hanger trick worked for you! It's been a total game changer for my closet. At first, I would try to justify why I should keep it and then carry it over for "one more year". 99.9% of the time, it's still backwards the next year. LOL Now I'm pretty ruthless. Even if it was a favorite at one time. Obviously, my tastes changed, and so it goes in the bag. Have a great day!

I saw that as I was editing. My bedside lamp is in a west window and has a crystal base, and when I film in the afternoon, it shoots rainbows all over the room. Sometimes, I think ahead and put it on the floor. Other times, I have rainbows on my face. More of a deal in a grwm, lol.

Sometimes we forget that things we ate so familiar with might be completely foreign. Thanks for the reminder not to assume people know what I'm talking about! It wasn't so long ago I didn't know what that meant either!

I didn't. I looked up orders on Amazon and Walmart. Then checked my Paypal, because I use that for ALL makeup. And went to the websites to check my order history. It took FOREVER. And elf wiped my order history!!! I was so bummed. I had a few order confirmations still in my email, but I don't generally keep them because I know I can find them on the website. But going forward, every new product will get a sticker with month and year and it will get logged in the purchases section of my spreadsheet as well as the product category page. Taxes next year should be a breeze!

Thank you! I haven't done anything to my nails in forever. Polish doesn't last, I've developed a gel allergy, and dip just destroys my nails. So I decided to glue on some tips and paint those. I'm really liking it. I'm not anti-buy, I just want to be more thoughtful about it AND be sure to be using what I have and not just the same few products all the time.

Thanks, friend. Since it was actually December,k I COULD have purchased something, but I had no room in my suitcase for clothes, our liquids bags were full, and I didn't find any powders I wanted.

I felt pretty hip too. LOL Nothing to make you feel like a UA-camr like editing in a coffee shop.

Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened. And what is wrong with people? They are adults! She's a child. If someone had an issue with you, take it up with you! Grrr. I hope it doesn't sour her on performing altogether. With the push to get a production together and close quarters in dressing rooms, it seems show time is often a time the cast gets sick. We had some pretty sick dancers in our Nutcracker too. Remind her that she did it! She's tough and strong and got through it despite the challenges. My daughter enjoyed the intensive, but it was also incredibly physically and mentally challenging, so it wasn't all smiles and sunshine. I was reminding her of many of the same things about character development coming from hard things.

@TinaHBeautifulJourney Thank you! And yes that's exactly what I was thinking. How immature and vengeful to punish her because they're mad at me. The irony is the reason they were upset is because I switched voluntearing to the costume department rather than make up like I had been doing in the past, so I didn't even do anything wrong. And I was furious at the director because instead of addressing the situation with me, he went directly to Aliya and falsely accused her which was so devastating. Especially for a 13-year-old. This is our third year doing this production, and they burned a bridge with me for sure. I'll remind her of the things you said. Eventually I'm sure she will want do another play but we both need to recover. That's interesting about your daughter. I bet it was a challenging experience but hopefully rewarding too. The performing arts can be so demanding.

@@pajamamama5965 It is absolutely demanding. But it shouldn't be cruel. And you are right to protect your daughter from those kinds of people. Makes me so mad when things like that happen because it gives theatre in general a bad name.

@TinaHBeautifulJourney I appreciate that. And you're so right. We homeschool to try to protect our kids from things like bullying. I hate that she experienced that. I had the flu a week ago and had plenty of time in bed to think about and process what happened. It's one of those situations where the problem is from the top-down. The director has a touch of narcissism. Everything has to be perfect, and he always sides with his staff against actors. So in this case the staff took advantage of him, lied, and he didn't ask questions. We've noticed that good actors come and go through the years and wondered why. He's the judge, jury and executioner. Since he's a pastor, there's no one above him to go to complain.. I reminded my daughter that 5 out of the 6 productions we've done have been good experiences. And we can learn lessons from this. One thing I'm planning to do is try out school-based Short-term production in the summer because I believe that she needs to be in environment that's nurturing to kids. The one we were in viewed kids and teenagers as a necessary nuisance. Which is ungodly. Jesus said let the little ones come unto me and not to hinder them. I told her God is gonna take care of this situation at that church. We can trust him to do that. and move onto new adventures. God will provide those

And one of the amazing things about homeschooling or doing these kinds of activities with your kids is that you are right there to help them deal with and process when things like this happen. You will help her develop tools to deal with difficult people as she goes through life. And you will help her process so she knows SHE isn't the problem here. And then you get to talk about forgiveness and boundaries. (((hugs))) Good can come of even these situations.

I got them both out and did a side by side sniff test. And no, the new one has no discernable scent. It smells like makeup, but not like fragrance. If that makes sense.

Probably not unless it's like a full size something or other. TSA going out was super chill and even smiling. No lines. Coming back was way busier and seemed more by the book. But I didn't want to risk having everything searched.
