I wish all these demo peeps would say their LOI and whether or not they're complete or incomplete and also demo how to transfer WITH the anti tip bars on. I transfer with my AT bars on and it makes it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to transfer into my car.

I am flying for the first time with my parents who will be traveling with a Medline Transport chair and gate checking them. What is a creative way to prevent the front casters from rotating during the air transport? I have the same issue when transporting in my vehicle. I simply adjust them and lie them flat. However, they do continue to rotate unless I shimmy a blanket or something in between the two front casters. What can I have/make to avoid the wheels from rotating once I've put them into a bag for the airline employee to stow away? Thank you.

Could something like this be used on a cheaper folding wheelchair? Something like this seems ideal for getting my mom around our yard without crashing to a halt every time we hit a mole tunnel or a root and could work on the beach as well. I was looking at at conversion kit with balloon tires but they didn't look that handy for day to day use. Then again for the yard what I really need are wider front wheels since they are what get caught on everything.

I had to do this on my Tilight as the caster froze up. It isn't open on the top and the bearings stack inside on top of each other and can only be taken out on one side. You need a Snap ring pliers, which I had to get from a neighbor on 3 wheels in my chair! The socket trick to hit them down into place helped a lot but I honestly won't do this again unless I have to or have a spare wheelchair. Took me about 3 hours lol- maybe hit up the local bike shop idk.

Thank you for this! I’m about to do my first solo international trip with my new chair and im very nervous about my new foldable manual chair being mishandled. The connection is making me nervous, even with the 2.5 hour layover. I want my wheelchair as near me as possible so I know it’s there and in good condition. I traveled a lot as a kid before I needed a wheelchair so I know my way around airports well, but this trip is stressing me out!

Hi, we are planning to go to Hollywood Studios this Saturday. My wife will be using a wheelchair chair because long distance walking basically cripples my wife's legs. Now, we don't of course qualify for DAS, so will they still allow you to board rides like you showed in your video and then take your wheelchair to your exiting the ride? Thank you

They need to put a handle on the pillar post so you can use that on that vehicle. Hard on steering wheel to use it the way you do. They have a handle on the passenger side on most vehicles but not on the driver side. Mistake by the vehicle manf.

I respect and admire you. I only have a healing sprained foot and realizing how creative I'm going to have to get to get a workout with only arms for the next couple of weeks is a little challenging but the first couple of days I didn't have anything as I live alone, so scootedo on my butt on the ground from room to room. Anyway, everything takes so much more effort than when I could put weight on my feet. You could probably write a book about problem solving. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for your video. It’s pretty informative. I sent you a comment in another email. I’m the guy with neuropathy looking for a lightweight wheelchair. I’m hoping the smart drive will help me go little faster through airports & other locations… I can’t walk any distance so I was hoping it would move me a lot faster than using. My arms are on the wheels. One question is what size wheels should I be looking at? I’ve been looking at 20 inch wheels. I thought they might be easier to get on and off an airplane easier. What determines the size of your wheels on your wheelchair? OK thanks for all the help bye

Thank you very much for your video. It’s very informational… I’m retired plus a few years and I have neuropathy.. I can still walk a little bit, but not any distance.. I want to get a light weight wheelchair with a smart drive attachment… do you like your smart drive?.. do you have the watch or the new speed control dial.? Can you recommend any lightweight wheelchairs, perhaps at fold up or just regular? I’ve been looking at a 20 inch.Ti Lite chair. I used to be about 5‘10“ tall but age has shorten me up a little. .. I weigh about 175 or 180 pounds… You’ve answered a number of questions I had about going down to gate to board an airplane. Where my wheelchair, wheels & Smart Drive might go in all the questions you have about boarding the plane and exiting. Just a lot of questions. I still have about getting on and off a plane in keeping track of all my luggage & necessities…. email me if you like. mobilestor@hotmail.com I live in N. Central, Iowa. Have fun with your travels. That’s what I’m gonna start doing.

Thanks man. I'm newly disabled so I'm still adjusting to doing things differently. Your video really helped me because I have a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and it didn't seem so high up before I lost feeling in my feet and legs due to neuropathy. Hopefully I can get better at getting in and out of it.

Thank you for the video! I am now in a wheelchair myself and have some questions what kind of wheelchair is that and what do you call the ones that you can take the back tires off of? Okay one more question the wheelchairs that I've been given are your basic wheelchairs for my hospitals and stuff should I have the tires that cut into the dark and set a roll on the dirt and I'm trying to eliminate that problem so I can roll on the grass and dirt and not cut into the grass and dirt any advice

Thanks! I never knew a parts list came with chair! But alot of times the manufacturer wont sell things to you if your not a dealers Then you pay more. But depending what it is you need a bike shop or I had a friend get a part for my chair at auto parts store. Its been 20 yrs ago now I just remember him taking it to auto parts store and they matched that part and found a company that the auto parts store can order and it will cost 1/2 as much! Ive found the heavy duty zip ties have saves the day. My backrest or footplates. I carry some in my back pack for just in case. You cant find the screw thats ,probably just came out

You all amaze me with transfering in and out of vehicle but I cant imagine doing all that to get in and out. I have a C5-6 SCI and back when I was younger.. I was always out and about doing stuff Id run errands and have to run in and out and I cant imaging transfering that many Xs a day. Even though I drive from my chair I still hate gettting in and out to put mail in the mailbox.or get gas. Or to go in a wawa or sheetz. Its about Time....someone else could run in and out b4 Id get out and my van doors shut. It was way easier to get someone to help me. That was one of the things that was hard for me to do. I always was very independant and then after the accident It sucked depending on others. So I pushed myself to where I could do everything for myself and had gotten very strong for my level of injury . But still Id ask whoever was with me because its faster. I got a van and I always liked pick ups b4 accident so I just put big knobby tires on van and changed the mufflers and I love it. Its like a little house on wheels...lol. Alot of people have tried to talk me into a mini van but you barely have any room and I like a little more metal around me. Those minivans if in a accident are like stepping on a soda can. Ive been in a couple fender benders and my van might get a scratch and their vehicle has thousands in damage! . Ive listened to several if your videos and Congrates for 10yrs together. Able bodied people cant seem to stay together that long. After being in a relationship b4 and after injury I think after injury its a different kind of bond. But thats just my opinion, 11:1Ive chose to not to be in a relationship for 20yrs. I started having severe pain and Dr says nothings wrong. So after the dating site disaster. And then the issue with pain I think its not fair for someone to have to deal with me not wanting to go do stuff often because im in pain. . Now that Im way older than you all I figure if God puts the right person there for me I will know. I do miss having companionship. My pet pev is seeing someone yrs after accident and they say. Oh I see your not any better, im so sorry just because your still in a wheelchair. ...lol
