    I'm working on a 2013 Chrysler 200 2.4 has the code P083B LC Pressure switch rationality. Runs good for few minutes then gets stuck in 3rd gear, had P0882 and replaced TIPM/fuse box and code cleared with scan tool but transmission going into limp mode with that code coming up (P083B). Should I try to do as the same as you did in this video?

    Change oil every 5k miles or 6 months and use 87 octane or above. You won't have to worry about oil dilution problems unless you're one of the morons that do 10K mile oil changes.

    This problem occurs in big cold cities where people have short commutes and the engine doesn’t have a chance to warm up.

    Technical you are ruin your engine long term with that crap 87 fuel. You have better gas mileage, less fuel dillution and likely less expensive engine repair costs. Also the 5W-30 oil is not recommended for this DI engine because of the additive package. You should consider top tier fuel for keeping the valves and injectors clean. If these parts gets clogged up because of bad fuel quality the oil dillution gets worse and tge engine just dies pretty fast.

    My son-in-law is a Honda salesman & he also said they weren’t getting the oil dilution as much in Canada since their “regular” gas up there is 91 octane & not like the diluted crappy gas we get here in the states. Also he told me Honda was stopping production of the 1.5L turbo in 2024, none for 2025 but he didn’t know what they were replacing it with. Also for “timbraun” below, I’ve never had a bad experience with Honda, You must have had a crap dealership you bought from. They do exist no matter how good or bad the vehicle.

    do you think replacing the weak points of the engine that have plastic with aluminium will make the engine more reliable overall? Thinking of buying a mopar vehicle.

      My opinion is to upgrade whatever parts I can when I am making the repairs. The aluminum is definitely an upgrade and cost wise was cheaper than mopar replacement, but more $$ than an unknown aftermarket plastic replacement. I didn't make a video, but I did replace the two Y-connection heater hoses under the hood with aluminum replacements in addition to aluminum oil filter housing. As these engines age the original plastic pieces in contact with coolant will become a failure point wild card. I definitely believe reliability can be improved by replacing with aluminum, or at least just replacing.

    This exact same thing happened at the store I work at. The septic pump needs to be replaced at my work. It hums & the cord gets super hot. Looks very similar to the one that’s at the store I work at. They said it’s not a cheap fix, the tank has not been replaced in a while & now I can see why. At least now I know what to expect when they come replace it.

    You mentioned that it was a non ethanol 91 octane. I wonder if it was more for that reason rather than the octane level as 91 octane is less combustible than 87 octane. Something to consider…. I’m not sure that here in Alabama I would be able to find that fuel, because around here the refineries use ethanol to raise the octane.

    I think gas catch device is the must have if you drive the 1.5L CRV in a cold state. If you live in the southern states, use premium gas and change oil more frequently should mitigate this issue. No matter what, I will never buy Honda car given they have lost their pride in building a reliable engine. It certainly saves gas, but I use premium gas which makes the saving on fuel efficiency goes away.

    New viewer of your Adventure in Oil Dilution/High Octane Fuel... Got Fuel Dilution of my own with a GMC Terrain (2.4L Ecotec AWD)... Had/Have been taking measures (including E0 91 Octane, which conveniently is, for the moment only 20 cents or so more then regular E10/87 octane... Requires an extra 20 mile round trip to get but... Helpful for improving the oil warm-up/fuel burn off... Due for a 3 month/almost 3K mile sample soon (picked up a Dipstick Sample Pump so I can more easily test the oil without, hopefully, needing to dump oil if its still got some useable life left...)

    I Just Bought 2 Broan AI 150CFM ERV. I'm really hoping it'll Solve this devastating and Seemingly Unsolvable Issue For Me. My House Is A Fairly New Home Was About 11 Years Old When I Moved in and It Was Just Renovated Prior To Me moving in, So I'm Quite sure it Made things Worse. You did mention that you and Your household Occupants was still getting sick even 2Years into using the HRV. But this was about 5Years ago. So, how is it now? Did it get any better/completely resolved overtime from using the Ventilator? Or you still get sick while inside?

      I would categorize sickness from a house into two main categories. First category being second hand illness from other family members and effects of stale air that doesn't exchange. Second category is the reaction to the house itself, or the contaminants in the house. Overall I have no doubt everyone is healthier with the air exchanger in both categories. The House itself is drier in the winter because of the air exchanges and I don't have mold trouble like I did before.

    The Part Of Being Sick Rings A Bell And Resonates Very Very Well With Me. Its Been Over 10Years Since I've been Having This Issue Of Being Constantly Terribly Sick ALL YEAR ROUND With Frequent URI's.. I've been To The Doctors Multiple Times, All Kinds Of Specialty Doctors, None Of them Could Figure Out What's Wrong With Me. I've Spent Easily Over $25 Thousand On Buying Different Devices and Appliances and Medications Plus Plenty Other Things that I Cannot Mention here. Until I Started Building A Small Living Space in My Backyard and Was Still Getting Sick in There (From the Building Materials, I'm Guessing, The OSB Suspectedly). Then I started Looking up How to Ventilate a Room that's When this HRV/ERV devices Came to My Radar/Knowledge just about Less than A Month Ago. And I Wonder how I Haven't Found this prior to now! And Looks like they have been around for Decades! Anyway, So now I'm looking at getting 2 Units for My House and the New Living Space. I'm going With An Oversized ERV for the House for Sure.

    I have a 2020 and live in canada (the colder part ) We havent gone for a road trip since covid because we're afraid the car will go into limp mode on a 400 series highway or trans canada highway . Kinda sad considering its a 37,000$ vehicle (taxes/fees included) . We're going to wait until the extended warranty (60 months)is close ending before exploring other models . On the bright side , the re-sale value on my CRV is unbelievably good and I've had all service done on time and at same dealer . Thanks for your channel as it relates to the oil dilution issue , especially considering yours is a 2017 .

    Honda Outboard engines are known for this problem if they are used for low speeds or trolling.

    I recommend also using the gumout with PEA often. Been using it for a year now and car has never felt so smooth. Lots of peoples injectors have been going bad, I fully believe that's because of 87 octane.

    I'm told by Honda dealer we need an engine replacement due to turbo injectors going bad. Live in MN, our 2017 CR-v EX has 108,000 miles. cost 10-14-k, question, if i buy a new engine are the injectors part of engine or a separate purchase?is there a separate turbo unit? I'm being told by another shop the turbo comes with engine..any feedback w/b helpful...thx

      Yikes! Does the engine run? What exactly happened? How the engine will arrive will probably vary depending on where it is being sourced from. If the engine was used from a salvage yard I would expect the engine to come fairly complete with turbo and injectors, unless noted otherwise. If Honda is replacing the engine NEW, the engine will be ordered pieces as a separate sub-assembly, not a ready to install engine, and require the technician to assemble at the shop. Honda sells a small block assembly (pistons, crank, block) assembled, Cylinder head would be separate order assembly(not sure if complete with valves), as would injectors, and turbo. The technician would have to assemble the cylinder head on the block, along with turbo, injectors, timing chain, etc. I would definitely reach out and verify exactly what parts are included in that estimate. The ready to install engine is typically called a 'Long Block' and includes cylinder head, block, pistons, crank, and timing components in a ready to install state...To my knowledge Honda doesn't sell engines in 'Long Block' form, but you may want to verify by calling a Honda Parts department.

      engine still runs, story similar to yours, daughter informed me the dashboard was all lite up with the warning indicators blinking .took to local repair shop diagnosed P0139, replaced oxygen sensors charged $1,500. one week later same happened, engine running poorly lots of smoke coming out of tailpipe. Car at honda dealer, states care needs new turbo injectors and engine. will not dig into engine because to much labor cost, so not telling me exactly what is wrong with engine. I'm thinking of just replacing injectors and see if that solves problem. if not , then replace engine...i'm not mechanical, so I'm at the mercy of the service department. uncomfortable place to be @@factotumlife

      The dealer should be able to expand on theory of engine diagnosis without actually digging into it - like are they recommending based on oil consumption (smoke) or lack of compression leading to engine running poorly. I would be highly suspicious of any engine condemned with Injectors not working correctly. The cylinder walls can become over fueled, washed down, leading to lack of compression. Low tension piston rings require oil film to help provide adequate seal and if fuel has washed the oil away a low compression engine may be mistaken as a mechanical problem when it really is just flooded with fuel. I think you are on the correct path to replace the injectors and re-asses the situation after the vehicles flooded fuel situation is resolved. If the dealer is still calling an engine after injectors consider having a leak down test completed. Test removes spark plug, places engine in TDC (top dead center), install a hose connection into spark plug and blows air. If engine has mechanical problems it will show with excessive air leaking through, intake, exhaust (valves), or crankcase (cylinders). However its not worth doing test if engine is flooded with fuel because it will show excessive air leakage past cylinders.

    One thing maybe not mentioned was were all the samples with the higher 5W-30? Why doesnt the lab use 30 as the 212F viscosity?

    Thank you for posting. Same issue, but no loss in fuel economy, RPM is steady. no misfires and very smooth acceleration. I may look at the battery terminals. Had it at Honda and they said injectors but would not tell me the code. So that made me question their validity. Why not tell me what code they got. ?? Anyhow will check the terminals as that can be cause as well from the research I have done. I just changed out the body control module as the security alarm would not shut off. Only have 60K on this. The quality of Honda has gone way down.

      Absolutely not! After you hooked your piping back up and pumped the pit down you may want to verify the level switch isn't tangling with the sides of the pit.
